The Midnight Walk is an astounding achievement of artistic vision that triumphantly tells both a heart-warming and terrifying story of perseverance and finding light in the darkest of times. It is an impressive labor of love that hopefully will find the audience it deserves and be at the top of game of the year lists come Winter.
The Midnight Walk is by far one of the best experiences released in recent years in the indie scene. Its dark atmosphere, its intrinsic message and the company of the little Potboy, will keep you company for a few hours in an experience absolutely not to be missed.

I kept playing The Midnight Walk, and enjoying my time with it, because it was just a blessing for my eyes (and occasionally for my ears). By featuring the bare minimum of gameplay to make it stand out from other walking simulators, it’s vastly more enjoyable than most of its peers. That being said, it’s a one-and-done experience at best.
The Midnight Walk tells a quiet, emotional story through claymation visuals, detailed sound design, and light stealth gameplay. Its chapter-based structure, subtle writing, and thoughtful pacing create a narrative that lingers after it ends.
The Midnight Walk is a gem that deserves to be experienced by all those who adore the Tim Burton-esque style or who desire a direct and immersive experience. Despite its price being uncompetitive in comparison to its length, Moonhood's production manages to carve out a place for itself in the current gaming landscape.

The Midnight Walk is a memorable journey, but not necessarily one that has managed to fully realize all its ideas and ambitions.

The Midnight Walk is a living storybook that blends melancholy, surreal atmosphere, and emotional resonance into something unforgettable.
The Midnight Walk is a simple and morbidly cozy walking simulator that owes a lot to the works of Tim Burton and Henry Selick. It's cute, slight, and mostly a demo for a VR system few play anymore.

The Midnight Walk is a powerful statement representing the often-forgotten artform of claymation. It triumphantly provides a sensory experience that horrifies, chills, and warms your heart with all of its aspects in story, visuals, and sound. Though a bit basic with its gameplay, The Midnight Walk is a masterful work of art with an overflowing amount of love and care poured into the craft where even Henry Selick would be proud.
The Midnight Walk is a light horror adventure that is brimming with personality and charm thanks to the worldbuilding and exceptional art design. Fans of horror akin to Tim Burton’s wheelhouse will love this game and the peculiar characters in it, but the choice to create a game with a non-VR and VR mode, while admirable, may have been to its detriment.
The Midnight Walk is a rare kind of experience—one that feels deeply personal, both in how it’s made and how it plays. Its imperfections are part of its texture: a few underdeveloped mechanics, some narrative murkiness, and an ending that may leave players with more questions than answers. But those are small shadows in a game defined by light.
The Midnight Walk is one of the best games of 2025. It looks so wonderful, has excellent sound design, and a story that keeps you gripped all the time.
For a game so concerned with artists and their creations, and with the importance of light and sound, the sheer artistry on display feels not just impressive, but meaningful, too.
