Carmen Sandiego Reviews
Carmen Sandiego modernizes the classic series in a way that mostly works, offering light brain-teasing for adults and a fun, educational challenge for kids.
Carmen Sandiego is a fun romp through a genre that I had figured was lost to mobile marketplaces and predatory YouTube channels.
Play as Carmen Sandiego to take down evil.
Narrowing down suspects based on clues and then hunting them down is neat and there is some educational value to this game… just maybe save yourself $30 and use your Netflix account to play it on mobile.
Carmen Sandiego is such a nostalgic hit in the heart, and it's great that there's a new game for a new generation to enjoy. It's a shame that there are inconsistencies; including not much accessibility for those who need it, and a lack of voice-overs. There is something to love about this new iteration of Carmen Sandiego, though. The 2D graphics in the ACME files can be downright beautiful. But overall, it's pretty disappointing, especially considering this game is essentially a port of a free(ish) mobile game, slapped with a $50AUD price tag and without the final chapter included. Hopefull,y we can see Sandiego and crew in better adventures sometime soon.
Carmen Sandiego tries to revive the gameplay of its classic PC predecessors, however it fails to innovate in any meaningful way.
Carmen Sandiego is a welcome addition to a franchise that continues to educate in all the right ways. For better or worse it doesn't mix the formula up too much, but any young one should find much to like. Just be sure to stick with a portable platform to enjoy it best.
This globe-trotting adventure can err on the side of being too simplistic, but with amazing scenery and fun puzzles, it's a solid update to the classic Carmen formula nonetheless.
Carmen Sandiego delivers an engaging experience by mixing investigation, strategy, and educational elements, while maintaining the spirit of the franchise. The game stands out for its deduction mechanics, cultural learning integrated into the gameplay, and the variety of minigames that add dynamism. However, the repetitiveness of the missions may demotivate some players in the long run, and the lack of more challenging trophies are minor disappointments. Still, its well-executed proposal and the balance between fun and learning make it a good option for fans of the saga and new players.

The game is published by Gameloft, well-known for its mobile games in the mid-2000s, and developed by its Brisbane studio. Although they have then expanded across various platforms and consoles, I have played several games from them and I believe they have done this Carmen Sandiego game quite well.
Just like in the classics, Carmen Sandiego hides its educational qualities behind an entertaining gameplay formula that folks of all ages can enjoy and who knows? Maybe you'll learn something while you capture VILE members through your globe-trotting adventures. 🔎
Carmen Sandiego is a solid educational journey worth playing in short bursts. While it's an enjoyable and interesting experience, particularly for younger players and nostalgic aficionados, its simplicity and content gaps may leave some wanting more.
Carmen Sandiego makes a triumphant return, offering a fresh twist on the formula by placing you in the role of the elusive thief rather than the detective chasing her. Whether you’re deciphering clues, tailing suspects, or using Carmen’s signature gadgets, there’s always something to keep you engaged as you unravel V.I.L.E.’s latest scheme.
Carmen Sandiego is a fun mix of education and adventure, making learning geography and history feel like a high-stakes detective mission. veteran fan or newcomer this game is absolutely worth the work you will put into it.
The Netflix themed Carmen Sandiego starts strong but soon descends into repetition and tedious progression. And endless airport codes.
The return of Carmen Sandiego is always very welcome in video games, but we need to emphasize here that it is an educational game aimed at children.

Carmen Sandiego’s latest outing is a triumphant mix of old and new, delivering a stylish, intelligent adventure that respects its legacy while embracing modern gaming sensibilities. With a compelling narrative, diverse puzzle design, and an authentic educational twist, it’s a solid pick for fans of all ages. While a few mechanics could use a bit more polish, this is proof that Carmen Sandiego still knows how to steal the show.
The title is entertaining and most importantly, you have fun while learning, but focused on a very young audience that may not be fully interested in the proposal. I recommend playing it in short sessions, as its design is a mobile game, because it gets repetitive quickly and you have to repeat some missions.

This was a fun, short, nostalgia-based trip for me and it really was a see what you get type situation. I can see the Carmen Sandiego games I played as a kid, reimagined for a 2025 audience and this game fits that mold. Were the cases super hard for me? No. Did I expect them to be? No. For the younger audience however, this game poses some good critical thinking skills and closer to the end of the game, even some strategy. The options of a campaign and random “trimmed down” cases this one provides a fair bit of replay value if you are in the mood to collect clues and piece them together whenever otherwise you can get through the game under 10 hours, I’d imagine with the content available at launch. Check the review video if you haven’t for some nitpicky gripes and to see what the game has to offer and if it’s for you.
