Spirit of the North 2 Reviews
Spirit of the North 2 is a rare kind of game. It doesn’t yell to get your attention. It whispers. And if you listen, really listen, you’ll find a story that’s quietly profound, a world that’s richly textured, and an experience that leaves a mark. It’s not for players who crave constant action or explicit storytelling. But if you’re patient, curious, and willing to let a game move at its own pace, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most beautiful and emotionally satisfying journeys I’ve played in years.
In a world where spirituality is often reduced to mere semantics, this game directly points out that such a state of mind is, in fact, simple. The answers it offers are well worth the journey. Spirit of the North 2 is an excellent sequel that you absolutely must play if you loved the first game.

Spirit of the North is a beautiful, quiet journey that delivers on atmosphere and aesthetic but struggles to maintain engagement with its limited gameplay loop. It’s a game best approached like a piece of ambient music: something to experience rather than solve.
Though I don’t agree with every decision the game makes, its hard to deny that Spirit of the North 2 is a beautiful and relaxing romp through a world that feels very real, where players can interact with what appears to be living history and collect cool fox powers along the way.
Spirit of the North 2 is a title that manages to retain the soul of its predecessor, improving various aspects and expanding the gaming experience with new mechanics. The evolution towards an open world offers greater freedom of exploration, making the red fox's journey even more immersive and meaningful. However, the transition to a more ambitious gameplay brings with it some technical imperfections that can affect the experience, especially in moments that require precision. Despite these obstacles, the game manages to convey its magic thanks to a fascinating visual narrative and an evocative artistic sector, consolidating its place among the most evocative indie adventures of recent years.

Spirit of the North 2 is a step forward in many ways. It looks beautiful, the gameplay is more extensive and the puzzles are a lot more interesting. You can even personalize your fox. But where the first part was sometimes too limited, part two goes a bit too far in the other direction. The open world offers freedom, but without a clear structure it quickly becomes confusing and frustrating. It is a game that tries to enchant you with the beautiful images, but it forgets that the gameplay must also be in good shape. These are not problems that cannot be solved and I hope the creators take the time to fix this with a patch. But at the moment you are better off picking up the first part if you really want to run around as a fox.

Infuse Studio and Silver Lining Interactive want us to go through natural landscapes again, helping the fox in his search for the lost guardians. A quest that expands thanks to a gigantic map where we can get lost among its dungeons, caves and secret places. It remains a fairly contemplative title, where calm is more important than haste.

Spirit of the North 2 is a must-play for those who love riddles, adventure, and visually breathtaking games. If you're seeking a subtle yet interesting way to clear your mind, this game is a great pick.
There’s something peaceful here if you’re willing to meet the game halfway. Spirit of the North 2 is a bigger, slower, and sometimes more frustrating sequel—but when it works, it delivers the same quiet satisfaction that made the first game stand out to me.
For fans of the original, Spirit of the North 2 is a meaningful continuation. It respects the meditative tone of the first game while broadening its horizons with smarter mechanics, better pacing, and a more expansive world. This sequel doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it refines almost every part of what made the original special. It’s still more about reflection than action, more about feeling than plot—but with more tools, more challenges, and more world to lose yourself in. Ultimately, Spirit of the North 2 is a thoughtful evolution of a niche experience. It may stumble at times, but its beauty, ambition, and spirit are undeniable. This is a game that asks you to slow down, to observe, and to immerse yourself in a place where nature and magic intertwine.
I cannot stress enough just how much I enjoy Spirit of the North 2. It takes the all the strongest elements of the first game and builds upon them, while simultaneously eliminating the aspects that didn’t work as well before. It’s not without its share of flaws, but those are easily overlooked in favor the remarkable, wondrous adventure that lies before you.
Spirit of the North 2 retains what already worked in its predecessor, while adding new ideas, not necessarily original, but which have shone in other works with the same introspective approach, such as its open world. Infuse Studio has finally created poetry in the form of a video game.

Spirits of the North 2 attempts to deliver a calm and distinctive experience that surpasses its predecessor, and it partly succeeds thanks to its beautiful artistic direction and noticeable improvements to the platforming system. However, it still suffers from clear issues in level design, which can leave players feeling lost, along with a vague storyline that fails to motivate exploration—making it a serene yet limited adventure.

As a fan of foxes, I couldn't wait for the release of Spirit of the North 2. So it pains me all the more that it's one of the biggest disappointments of this year. It's a game that's just bad, and what's worse, it's becoming more and more difficult to bear with each passing hour. It's a production that's poorly optimized, unstable and full of ill-conceived or non-functioning mechanics. The first installment may not have been perfect, but it had its own identity and a clearly defined vision. The same cannot be said of the sequel.

Spirit of the North 2 is a gorgeous game filled with a level of freedom that feels refreshing in today's climate, with smart puzzles and a moving story.
If atmosphere is more important to you than gameplay, and the experience is more important to you than straightforward game mechanics, "Spirit of the North 2" could be just the thing for you. Fans of the predecessor can confidently buy this.

Spirit of the North 2 tried to innovate, it tried to expand, it tried to "raise the bar", but what it didn't do was become a better, more attractive game. Despite having good puzzle ideas and implementing interesting battles, these pillars alone don't support a product that fails in practically everything it does. Its gigantic, empty map and the questionable quality of its elements make it clear that the game needed more polish, and unfortunately the developers didn't see it in time.

Spirit of the North 2 has some great concepts and mechanics, set in a varied Nordic world. There’s certainly a lot to enjoy, and I did have fun with my Fox buddy a fair bit. When it clicked, it was great, but the litany of technical issues and some tedious, faffy traversal keep it from reaching the Northern Heights!
Spirit of the North 2 is a nice sequel that retains the charm of the first game while skillfully expanding the gameplay. The new skills in conjunction with the raven are fun, the atmosphere and the magical visuals look beautiful and the game invites you to linger. Unfortunately, there are technical problems here and there and the aimless wandering to the next required item can be very annoying.
