Rematch Reviews
Were it a bit more feature complete and fine-tuned, Rematch would be undeniable in its claim for Rocket League’s long-held crown. There’s a high, albeit achievable, skill ceiling here, but intuitive controls means anybody can header, rainbow flick, or bicycle kick goals from the box’s edge in short, exhilarating, and most importantly, moreish games of soccer.
Rematch is an interesting game. Even losing a match makes you want to try again, and when you team up with players that like to cooperate, it can be one of the most beautiful gaming experiences. I think even gamers not keen on football can find lots of fun here.

Rematch does a good job of providing a bite-sized arcade football experience that's backed by smooth performance and simple controls, making it easy to pick up and play. While its early access period brought matchmaking issues and a bit of lag to the table, SloClap has committed to resolving these issues in future updates. As it stands, Rematch is certainly worth a go, for both casual and veteran football fans.
Rematch is a wonderful reinterpretation of football with just enough innovation to make the sport its own. Thanks to an amazing gameplay loop and beautiful art style, every match has been unforgettably fun. Unfortunately, some current issues with server performance and limited, restrictive content stop Rematch from becoming a must buy. Still, anyone looking for a hot new multiplayer game like nothing else should keep a close eye on Rematch's future.
Limited launch content aside, Sloclap's mechanical deviations from the status quo successfully distill the beautiful game's essence.
If Sloclap can rightfully be considered a small forge of ideas, then Rematch is undoubtedly its most ambitious project to date. However, this ambition, when confronted with the reality of execution, sees the game struggling to shine as brightly as hoped-at least initially. That said, it provides a solid foundation to build upon, update after update, with the goal of engaging and growing a community-something that is essential for a project of this kind.

For football enthusiasts, Rematch is certainly worth a try, but for those looking to dive deep, it may not be the right fit for most players. Its mechanics and systems lean far more toward the hardcore end of the spectrum compared to something like FIFA, turning even seemingly simple actions into daunting tasks. While the skill ceiling is impressively high, reaching it requires a serious investment of time and dedication.

The creators of Sifu have made a game even for those who don't like sports. In mid-April, testing of Rematch began, and at that time, the peak number of online players on Steam exceeded 120,000, and some gamers are already calling the new game the future of virtual football. As soon as the game is released, it has every chance of becoming the new gaming discovery of the year. Despite some minor flaws, REMACH is a game that definitely deserves attention. With these shortcomings addressed, it could become a real hit, winning the hearts of millions of players.
Despite some technical issues in the beginning of its life cycle and concerns about its longevity, REMATCH delivers a very fun experience that constantly makes you want to play one more match.

Even in its current state with plenty of issues, Rematch is the closest thing to a street football simulation. Despite all its flaws, it's been a long time since I've played a game this addictive.

Currently Rematch feels like an early access game. Great engaging gameplay is paired with wonky servers and lack of basic features.

Rematch is an addictive blend of Rocket League and real football that's sure to prove a hit on Xbox Game Pass and beyond. The difficult controls might put some people off in the early hours, but its "just one more game" feel should keep most playing beyond the teething period - and that's when it really comes into its own. The developers have done a fantastic job with this one, and I can't wait to see how it evolves in the weeks, months and years to come.
While Rematch suffers from a lack of cooperative or competitive tools at release, the foundations are in place for an exciting football experience for many years to come – all without paying for a single stupid card pack.
Rematch brings a bold twist to a genre that's been playing it safe for too long, offering a fast, stylish, and skill-driven take on football. Its gameplay is both accessible and surprisingly deep, turning every match into a highlight reel. Still, technical hiccups, balancing issues, and missing features like crossplay and offline modes keep it from reaching its full potential. Sloclap has built something great, and with the right support, Rematch could grow into a true standout in the genre.

Rematch feels like a breeze of fresh air, a real gift for football fans. With simple mechanics that are difficult to master, you can be the star of heart-stopping matches that, as usual, are much more enjoyable with friends.

I still believe Rematch is a game-changer in the football-video game genre that has an extensive global market, allowing for a great reception. But the fundamental problem of making strangers work as a team exists more than it should, and forces a major change before the game becomes a piece of history. Otherwise, everything else is super-fun, especially playing with a full squad of friends.
Rematch is a fresh take on the overplayed EA and Konami formula for soccer. However, its narrow business model and limited single-player content overshadow the well-executed ideas.

Rematch may not be the most complex game ever, but it offers a unique take on multiplayer football, which, with the right team, can be an enormously fun time, at least when things work. Currently, however, there are too many issues, and the community has too little interest in playing the game correctly for me to recommend it to most. If you have a crew of friends who all want to play together and love the sport, then it becomes an easier game to recommend, but most players may want to wait and see what updates Sloclap has planned for Rematch’s future before jumping in.
Rematch is a game that you don't understand right away, and that's what makes it interesting. It's not a title for people looking for quick wins. It requires patience, a willingness to learn, and frustration tolerance. But those who get involved will be rewarded with gameplay that is astonishingly precise, rewarding, and challenging at the same time. The controls have depth, the matches are competitive, teamwork is crucial, and when it works, everything feels fluid and satisfying. But beyond this core, the game lacks maturity. The presentation, atmosphere, and scope are simply not at the level one would expect from an ambitious sports game in 2025. Especially when compared to top dogs like Rocket League, it's striking how much polish, personality, and atmosphere are still missing. Rematch feels like a first chapter. A first idea that hasn't been thought through yet. Hopefully, the developers will continue down this path. Because there's more lurking beneath the surface. So it's a game with rough edges. But it also has a spark of originality that shouldn't be overlooked.

REMATCH is the ultimate arcade soccer game out there when it works. With network issues and game-breaking bugs, Sloclap has to resolve these issues before they can score the golden goal.
