Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles Reviews
In finally re-releasing, after almost thirty years, a true masterpiece of tactical JRPGs, Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles can only be a memorable title in its own right. An improved and enhanced version of the 1997 classic, made appealing by many small improvements, fully dubbed dialogues, and an unprecedented Enhanced version. While the title remains untouchable and truly unmissable, there is a hint of bitterness in the treatment reserved for such a milestone. What could have been a much more ambitious and daring re-release ends up being a mere, not particularly convincing remaster (notably lacking Italian among the supported languages). Yasumi Matsuno's gem probably deserved better.

We recommend Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles to anyone who loves deep tactical RPGs with powerful storytelling - but be prepared for hours of grinding that will either turn you into a strategic genius or a frustrated madman.

FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles offers new light on a thirty-year-old title, improving it with revised UI and English and Japanese voice-acting, yet once again lacking Italian localization and retaining the barrier of complexity due to approximate and generic tutorials that miss the mark. Play it if you want a challenging title with excellent storytelling set in the Final Fantasy universe, while being aware that it departs almost entirely from the main saga in almost every aspect.

Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles provides the best of both worlds in allowing players to play the game as its original form of playing the updated version taking full advantage of Quality of Life features, if you have yet to play any tactical JRPG then Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles is easily the best option and being available on all consoles on the market currently means if you did not get chance to play the original now you do.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is one of those rare games where strategy feels as cold as chess, yet the story burns as warm as poetry.

Nearly three decades after its debut, Final Fantasy Tactics remains a singular achievement in the genre. With The Ivalice Chronicles, it has been given the respectful, if cautious, treatment it deserves. A game that proves once again why Ivalice continues to enthral, inspire, and challenge players to this day.
Ivalice Chronicles proved that a product created nearly three decades ago can still captivate today with cleverly designed gameplay and a rich world. It is pure retro, yet remarkably functional and charming. Hopefully, a modern variation of this spin-off series will be released someday.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is the definitive remaster of a tactical role-playing masterpiece. Its deep political narrative and complex Job system remain as brilliant today as they were 28 years ago, its only major flaw being the incomprehensible lack of a Spanish translation.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is one of the best games of its genre, which deservedly returns for easy access on current platforms, but it feels like Square Enix should have done more. The graphic quality of the modern version is not entirely satisfactory, and content has been cut.

With all said and done, it’s hard not to say “Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles” is the definitive version of the SRPG. A masterclass in storytelling, a compelling battle system, memorable characters and a plot that feels ever so relevant in this day and age. This is not only a must for SRPG fans, but Final Fantasy fans in general and ones interested in delving into the story of turn based games.
A relatively light but high-quality tactics game with an original job system that still remains fresh many years since the original release.
The story is still quite good compared to it’s initial release. The small tweaks to the localization with the addition of voice acting adds a nice layer of immersion to the story as well. Overall the game is as good as this reviewer remembers. With an entry like this, one can only hope that perhaps Final Fantasy will revisit the Tactics IP and perhaps even give us a brand new game in the series.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is the definitive edition and preferred version for revisiting one of Square Enix’s most iconic strategy RPGs. Faithfully preserved with subtle visual enhancements, immersive voice acting, and thoughtful quality-of-life improvements, this remaster offers a compelling experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.
A Technical remake that preserves everything that worked for the original release while still managing to improve and enhance the already stellar experience of the 1997 original, The Ivalice Chronicles is a must play for basically everyone.
FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles is not a new game, but a lovingly crafted re-release of a milestone in tactical RPG history. With numerous improvements and convenience features, you no longer need to be nostalgic to enjoy the origins of the Final Fantasy sub-series. The story has lost none of its power, and the gameplay still impresses with its depth and sophistication. The visual improvements look good, but are subtle enough not to change the style. Nevertheless, it must be said that, despite all the changes, the gameplay still has certain quirks that you have to like. For me personally, it is less accessible than other tactical games, as too many small details can have unpredictable consequences. Connoisseurs will find their way around immediately, and newcomers will find a gentler introduction to this tactical legend thanks to the revisions.

Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles is the return of a timeless classic. With just a few necessary improvements, everything was done with care to preserve and reintroduce to the world the grandeur of its story and the emotional weight of its journey. The voice acting and soundtrack take immersion to another level, while the battle system and strategic possibilities ensure a very high replay factor. The only drawback is the lack of localization in more languages, standing out as a minor flaw in an otherwise impeccable work worthy of its legacy.
