Darwin's Paradox! Reviews
Darwin’s Paradox is a strong debut from ZDT Studio, cleverly utilizing cinematic platforming genre staples to create a fun, well paced 5-hour adventure. That being said, an abrupt ending unfortunately robs the game of a satisfying conclusion, and it’s clear that the Nintendo Switch 2 version needed more time in the oven to properly utilize the hardware.
Like an early Disney Interactive Studios title, Darwin’s Paradox is creative and charming, but a little rough around the edges.
In Darwin's Paradox!, there are times when the game almost feels like something special, but it never quite does. Its main idea—basing the whole experience on the unique way an octopus moves—is strong enough to carry a lot of the game by itself. It's really fun when everything works out.
Darwin's Paradox is a title with clear highlights, but also with a number of shortcomings. The creative skills, strong level design, and attractive visual style form a solid foundation. Unfortunately, the emphasis on stealth and the associated frustration result in a platforming experience that quickly leans towards trial-and-error. The game visibly struggles with the technical limitations of the Nintendo Switch 2, and that certainly shouldn't be the case. As a result, the game barely manages to keep its head above water, and we would have liked to see things differently.

Darwin's Paradox! is an original and visually captivating cinematic platformer, with a likable narrative, a compelling protagonist, and solid platforming and puzzle sections. Its biggest letdowns are the stealth elements, which slow down the pace, along with some technical imperfections and limited length. While it doesn't quite reach the best of the genre, it's still an enjoyable adventure and recommended for those looking for something light, creative, and unconventional.

Darwin's Paradox! delivers a striking cinematic platformer that pairs expressive, wordless storytelling with demanding, precision-based gameplay, resulting in a short but memorable adventure that balances emotional tone with mechanical depth. While its inventive movement and environmental design consistently shine, a few uneven mechanics and late-game frustrations hold it back from absolute greatness.
Darwin's Paradox is an excellent platformer that is consistently enjoyable, with some of the best cinematic visuals and a real eye for detail that never fails to impress.
Darwin's Paradox is cartoonishly great, with enough fun to satisfy anyone looking for an engaging platformer. It sometimes works against itself when exploring or dealing with enemies, but at times it comes together to be pretty coherent and exciting. However, sometimes, the controls fight against you, and you even have situations where you have to attempt sections a few times to get past them. Overall, this is a short affair, but it's got some great platforming sections despite some control shortfalls.
Humour, endearing protagonist, aesthetically beautiful, animated levels and variety in the gameplay, Darwin’s Paradox will have only a few more or less blocking flaws according to your taste: one or two peaks of absurd difficulty in comparison to the rest of the game and boss fights that we would have liked to have and who, given the general tone, could have been beautiful experiences

Darwin's Paradox! has proven to be a genuine, wild, and entertaining adventure. ZDT Studio has succeeded in its goal of creating a game that captures the magic of animated cinema, while also offering some interesting gameplay ideas. Part platformer, part stealth game, part puzzle game, Darwin’s odyssey manages to engage, make you smile, and even make you think. It is, therefore, a title of absolute value, even accounting for a few sections that are less polished than others and a sometimes excessive reliance on trial and error.

"Strong Ideas, Hesitant Execution" Darwin’s Paradox! offers a varied and entertaining experience that cleverly and innovatively blends stealth, platforming, and puzzle elements. It rests on a solid foundation of design and mechanics, but occasionally hesitates to push its ideas to their limits, making some moments feel conventional. Despite this, it remains a cohesive and enjoyable experience.
