The new Flow State mechanic is a slight misstep, but EA Sports UFC 6's collection of gripping and carefully crafted stories in Hall of Legends and The Legacy make this a celebration of MMA unlike any before it.

UFC 6 is my favorite game in the series so far. It’s content-rich, looks beautiful, and the actual fighting feels tight and responsive. It’s only bogged down by some smaller flaws, but overall, UFC 6 is a strong contender.

EA Sports UFC 6 refines an already solid formula, offering more spectacular and believable fights thanks to a striking system capable of transmitting the full power of punches, kicks, and elbows.

With some incredible visuals, and a dope physics engine that adds to the charm of the game, UFC 6 managed to land more punches than it missed with me.

With that said, UFC 6 is still the best game this franchise has delivered in a long time.

UFC 6 definitely feels like championship material, though it's a few notches below an all-time great.

UFC 6 isn't the definitive MMA simulation, and in some areas there's still plenty of room for improvement, but it's the best installment yet, and the first to truly attempt to convincingly portray the man behind the fighter.

EA Sports UFC 6 does many things right, delivering what you'd expect from it. But as a title meant to advance the franchise, it stumbles too often to truly stand out.

UFC 6 feels like a 1 step forward 2 steps back situation, Yes the things added are very good, but there isn’t enough of a difference from previous games that might warrant a whole new instalment. On the other hand, I think it is getting harder to make advancements in sports games, so stagnation will happen.

Not the revolution that fans imagined after three years of waiting, but a very solid sequel that improves on almost every element of its predecessor.

EA Sports UFC 6 delivers excellent presentation, plenty of content, and the strongest UFC package EA has produced so far. Its new arcade-inspired mechanics won't please everyone, but solid combat, authentic atmosphere, and meaningful UFC integration make it an easy recommendation for MMA fans.

EA Sports UFC 6 puts the franchise back on track, offering great gameplay and a good range of modes for fans of the sport. The only downside would be a revamp of the ground fighting, making submissions more dynamic and precise instead of just pushing the analog stick back and forth. The vast roster is also a great draw for old-school fans, although some older fighters aren't 100% faithful to their physique. However, the graphical precision and fluidity of the strikes compensate for this flaw, creating a feeling almost like watching a major event.

MMA is gaining ever more popularity and attracting new fans. If you discover the discipline recently, as a spectator or sportsman, and you have never touched a video game of the genre, UFC 6 will capture your attention. It is thus accessible to all in its game modes and its level of difficulty Easy, then its game mechanics also provide good sensations. In addition, he is generous and immersive in his new game mode with this Museum in honor of 3 legends of MMA. Like previous titles, it’s up to the player to dictate their gaming experience when it comes to requirements. If you want to invest in it and bring a challenge, raise the level of play a little.

EA Sports UFC 6 is the best game in the franchise to date, and that’s no faint praise. EA Vancouver has created the most satisfying octagon experience the series has ever seen, featuring stunning visuals, refined striking, genuinely unique fighters, and the most generous content package in the history of the series. Flow State needs some tweaks that EA has already promised to deliver, and grappling remains that relative the family loves but nobody really knows what to do with. But where it matters most, inside the octagon, trading blows that you can feel at your fingertips, UFC 6 delivers consistently and excitingly. The big catch—and it is a big one—is the price.

UFC 6 overall does feel like a good attempt by EA to make a great MMA game. With its improvements to striking, it’s always solid representation of the brutality of MMA and its promising Legacy Mode, there’s a lot to like here. If they can make the same progressions towards the grappling and the Career Mode, perhaps one day people will stop holding Undisputed 3 as the gold standard for MMA games. For now, UFC 6 still makes for a fun time in its own right.

EA Sports UFC 6 delivers a stunningly realistic, hard-hitting showcase powered by a revamped striking engine and a uniquely personal Flow State system. However, stagnant grappling mechanics, weak narrative writing, and a repetitive career grind prevent this visually jaw-dropping sequel from achieving a total knockout.

EA Sports UFC 6 is the best in years, and stepping into the Octagon shows why. If you enjoy battling online, moving up in your career or learning the ins and outs of the different fighters, the game is a deeper and more involving experience than its predecessor. It may not be the overhaul some fans wanted, but it improves many key areas.

EA Sports UFC 6 is a game that clearly improves the moment-to-moment fighting experience, especially in striking and tactical engagement. Still, it doesn't fully escape the limitations of its previous entry. You're getting a more intelligent, more deliberate combat system wrapped in familiar modes, recycled elements, and uneven progression systems. It succeeds most when you're actively fighting. Outside the cage, it still feels like it's catching up.
