I honestly can't recommend The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival to anyone but hardcore fans of the show, and even then it's a hard sell. While visually a gorgeous game, that is nowhere near enough to save it from the poorly designed gameplay. Committing some cardinal sins of beat ‘em ups of a single combo to execute and no multiplayer unfortunately has left Streets of Survival surrounded by a zombie horde, doomed to be turned into the one thing they swear to fight.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival isn’t a game I’ll be returning to over and over again. There simply isn’t enough mechanical depth or variety to make repeated playthroughs particularly compelling.

If you're a fan of the TV series or just love a solid, retro-style brawler, The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is worth your time despite a few hiccups.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is more Walking Dead than Streets of Rage. The fan service will delight fans with nods to the series scattered throughout the adventure and several iconic characters.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival works well as a nostalgic experience of moments from the TV series. But for those looking for a new great Beat 'em Up, however, the limitations of a production that presents good ideas but doesn't always manage to fully develop them become more evident.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is about as relevant as The Walking Dead series is in 2026. At its core, it’s a title that doesn’t really understand its own genre, and while it attempts to introduce new elements and experiments, they don’t work particularly well. The result is something so ordinary and uninteresting that not even gallons of spilled blood and dozens of walkers can save it.

For fans of The Walking Dead and retro brawlers, there's fun to be had here. It just needed a little more polish, a little more content and, perhaps most importantly, a second player.

While there may be some mileage here for die hard Walking Dead fans, newcomers may feel a bit lost, and the gameplay can have a tendency to get tedious at times

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival delivers exactly what it promises. Whether you are a fan of the comics, the TV series, or classic Beat 'em Up games, this title is an easy recommendation. With a frantic pace from start to finish and finely tuned mechanics, the game offers a fun and enjoyable experience.

Unremarkable. It isn’t a flawless game, nor does it set out to be. But to be honest, it could have been so much better. It fulfils the basic function of entertaining without any great fanfare, but it falls a bit short in terms of depth and, above all, in its gameplay. The gameplay feels clunky, awkward and unsatisfying. This is almost a fatal flaw in a game where the emphasis on action is practically absolute. There’s no better news on the graphics or audiovisual front either, as these are also fairly basic and don’t quite hit the mark. In short, if you’re a fan of the series, you’ve got an excuse to play it; otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this title, even as a fan of the genre

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival delivers nostalgic pixel-art action, recognizable characters, and satisfying progression, but uneven combat and limited content keep this enjoyable adaptation from becoming an essential beat ’em up.

A short and highly polarizing experience that successfully captures the atmosphere of The Walking Dead through its charming retro presentation. While repetitive combat, limited progression, and the lack of co-op hold it back from reaching its full potential, it remains an enjoyable experience for dedicated fans of the franchise.

Streets of Survival does add a few wrinkles to the mix, such as the gunplay and skill system, but what's in the final product quickly wears out its welcome, with an experience that has some extremely frustrating moments, and is over quickly.

The Walking Dead: Street of Survival is a beat 'em up with a retro look, which makes it look pretty good. Unfortunately, the retro look is the only thing the developers have carried over from the past. The game might be fun to play once, but it's not worth the full price.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival brings AMC’s iconic universe to the beat ’em up genre with enjoyable combat, firearms, RPG elements and a highly replayable cooperative experience. Its short levels and limited character differences hold it back, but the faithful pixel-art presentation and accessible gameplay make it an entertaining new take on the franchise.

For Walking Dead fans, this is still a decent way to spend a few hours revisiting the show’s characters and smashing heads. The pixel-art presentation looks great, Michonne is fun to play, and the early combat has a satisfying snap. Just be ready for a game that becomes more frustrating and repetitive the longer it goes on, especially once every other enemy decides to pull out a gun.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is a pretty mid run of the mill beat’em up that feels a bit slow, outdated and 10 years too late. I really did try to like this, but the issues kept killing my enjoyment. This game should’ve released about 8-10 years ago during the peak of the franchise. While the upgrade mechanics are a nice touch to the genre, there’s really no reason to buy this. There are so many better, more fluid beat’em ups than this. Unless you’re a die-head fan of The Walking Dead or you must play every beat’em up in existence, this is an easy pass.
