The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival Reviews
If you're a fan of the TV series or just love a solid, retro-style brawler, The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is worth your time despite a few hiccups.
Streets of Survival is a fun use of The Walking Dead IP, a much better use of the license than some past games. It’s a serviceable side scrolling romp that is perfect for newbies, but may lack depth that veterans of the genre are used to.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival offers enjoyable brawling and a solid retelling of the Saviors War, yet its brevity and familiar beats make it best suited for franchise or genre loyalists fans.
Streets of Survival has a foundation for a great series, but the lack of some quality of life features in its combat, and a lack of co-op make this hard to recommend, given the genre has so many other options that are simply better games. The Walking Dead is perfect for videogames, but few games have really hit that high mark, and despite enemies having near perfect aim here, Streets of Survival can't quite say the same.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival had a concept that intrigued me, turning the franchise into a beat ’em up with some resource‑management strategy. Unfortunately, the execution undermines almost everything that could have worked. The controls are clunky, boss fights are poor, progression barely impacts gameplay, and replay value is virtually nonexistent. Daryl and Negan are fun to control, and a few sound effects land well, but they’re not enough to save an experience that wore me out long before the credits rolled.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is an enjoyable beat ‘em up that brings with it some genuinely unique ideas. Sure, it can feel a little clunky in places and the lack of multiplayer is disappointing, but the satisfying combat, authentic survival horror vibe, and fun gameplay loop ensure it’ll keep both fans of the genre and The Walking Dead show entertained.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is an interesting genre-blending experiment tarnished by an occasionally poor performance and button responsiveness. I was really impressed with how seemless the mixture between beat ’em up combat and survival horror elements felt. When you manage to get a groove of the controls, as well as the uneven difficulty curve, this becomes really enjoyable, and incredibly tense at times. With a few patches and fixes in its pacing, this might even become one of the best Walking Dead-themed games out there. Let’s wait and see.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival takes the side-scrolling beat-'em-up genre and modifies it to fit perfectly with the The Walking Dead series, though it could have done more.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is an interesting take on the ‘All Out War’ storyline, and it’s nice to see main characters from the TV show represented well in pixel form. There’s some clunkiness and frustration with the combat, and the campaign is fairly short, but there’s still some fun to be had.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is an okay beat 'em up based on AMC's version of the series. While the game employs some nice and unique ideas, its unbalanced difficulty and sometimes awkward gameplay hold it back. Fans of the show might enjoy a single playthrough or two, but others have little reason to look its way.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival maintains a competent level of quality throughout the experience. It doesn't have any major hits, but it also doesn't make any serious mistakes, despite some frustrations involving the hitboxes of enemies and the player themselves.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is a solid 2D beat 'em up that makes good use of its license while retaining the survival elements that define The Walking Dead. Its satisfying combat, character variety, challenging encounters, skill progression, and Walker Pit mode provide a good amount of entertainment, while the scarce ammunition and healing resources add an appreciated layer of tension. However, combat can feel rigid, enemy variety is limited, and the restrictive character selection and lack of substantial content outside the main missions hurt its replayability. The pixelated presentation also struggles to capture the atmosphere of the source material. Despite these shortcomings, Streets of Survival delivers an enjoyable beat 'em up experience, particularly for fans of The Walking Dead and the genre, even if it starts to feel repetitive once you have seen most of what it has to offer.
