Forever Ago is a deeply moving and mature experience, engaging players through its uncommon delicacy in storytelling. Despite its rather basic gameplay, the strength of its message and the depth of its themes more than make up for its gameplay limitations.

Forever Ago is a moving narrative adventure about grief, memories, and slowly learning to live again. The game takes a little while to get going, especially since Alfred comes across as distant and hard to read at first. But if you stick with it, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful and human story about a man who, step by step, learns to cope with the loss of the love of his life.

Third Shift put together an amazing package that includes a touching story with characters I genuinely cared about, alongside a heartfelt message about life and love, and the best part was that it never overstayed its welcome. At four hours, Forever Ago is a game I'd recommend to anyone, whether they're in a loving relationship, going through some hardship, or just need something different to play. This is cozy gaming at its best.

Forever Ago tells a deeply human story about grief, love and the memories we carry with us, without becoming overly sentimental or constantly reminding you what emotions you are supposed to feel. At a particularly stressful point in my own life, it gave me something unexpectedly comforting, and that is an experience I am unlikely to forget anytime soon.
