Toem 2 is a cute sequel, but the adventure game magic of original has been streamlined out.

It all adds up to a game that will make you feel good , and which is hard to put down once you start playing.

It's a short and sweet experience that is just as comforting as the original.

Toem 2 doesn't go crazy with new ideas and you solving the game's challenges offer up singular solutions, but this second go around has livened things up in ways you can't help but admire and respect. So go ahead, take another soothing photo adventure and embrace the new things Toem 2 has to show you.

Something We Made's Toem 2 is a fantastic sequel that takes everything that made its predecessor great, and expands it.

It may play it safe and is perhaps a little too similar to its predecessor, but TOEM 2 is another fantastic adventure game that has you taking photos to solve puzzles. Presented in black and white and an absolute joy to play, what TOEM 2 lacks in colour it more than makes up for in charm.

Sequels tend to get lost in the weeds of expanding scope, but Something We Made set out to simply improve and build upon what made the original TOEM pretty engaging. TOEM 2 is not groundbreaking. You may only notice the improvements when putting it side-by-side with the original. That is not a bad thing for fans and for those looking for a short and cozy experience you get exactly what you expect.

If there was one word to describe Toem 2, it would be “clever”. The application of camerawork is largely a win... outside of the tools, which still aren’t the worst, just the most obvious downside. Really, this is a cosy game that more than earns its title, and for that, it’s worth everyone's time to try.

Following patterns established by its predecessor, TOEM 2 offers players an unique experience as they explore and photograph the world around them. And it is a very charming world, thanks to the minimalist and monochromatic aesthetic of its environments.

Many photography simulators that emphasize the technicality and precision of photographic art miss the kind of charm that a game like Toem 2 embodies. Despite offering a thoroughly enjoyable journey on Switch 2, the game hits many of the same beats from the first game too closely, which flattens the overall experience. Despite any misgivings, Toem 2 is an easy recommendation to anyone looking for a break from any personal challenges or uncertainties to escape into an endearingly whimsical adventure.

Not every sequel needs to reinvent the wheel. It is just as important when a game maintains its identity while bringing a couple of new things to the table. Small but meaningful changes can go a long way. Clueless that there would ever be a sequel, what a joy it is to live in a world where a game like Toem 2 exists. Taking photographs, making friends, admiring everything life has to offer. It doesn’t get better than that, and developer Something We Made knows it.

Toem 2’s charms largely come from its silly eccentric cast of characters, but its heart lies in the universal reverence for the wonders of the natural world.

TOEM 2 is a very safe sequel, almost more TOEM 1.5 than a true sequel, never expanding beyond the original enough to give players something genuinely new.

The follow-up to the charming picture-taking original doesn’t deviate much from the original formula, but still delivers a wholesome and satisfying journey

TOEM 2 confirms that Something We Made knows how to create heartwarming experiences. While it feels more like a polished refinement of the original concept than a true generational leap, its new movement options, extraordinary variety of settings, and irresistible art direction make it a must-play for fans of indie titles and "cozy gaming." That said, consider this fair warning: for TOEM 3, we’ll be expecting something more!

Toem 2 is a charming, relaxing, and very fun adventure for those who enjoy exploring and uncovering secrets at their own pace. The use of the camera remains ingenious, and completing the worlds 100% is well worth the effort, but as a sequel, it’s a bit too conservative. Still, I recommend it.

TOEM 2 is the kind of game you fire up and all of your problems go away, at least temporarily. Your mind will get lost in its whimsical world and, suddenly, mooching about and taking photos is all you need to worry about. Call it therapy, call it fun, call it what you like, but TOEM 2 is delightful and good for the soul.

Toem 2 is a stellar game. You can clear it in a weekend, and you'll come out the other end feeling great about your time. It's a bigger sequel, yes, but it also keeps the simplicity that made the first Toem such a must-play. Something We Made knows they've crafted a winning formula, and the result is a pair of games that I believe everybody must play.
