Disney/Pixar Toy Story: Retro Roundup! Reviews
Toy Story: Retro Roundup is filled with tons of great modern-day features and extras that make it a great choice for anyone who played these games in the past and wants a burst of nostalgia.
While there are some games in the pack that don't have much to offer, the good stuff is really good. A must-own for any fans of Disney-Pixar 3D platformers.
A generous nostalgia trip with some lasting highlights, held back by weaker games, dated visuals and poor audio quality.
Toy Story: Retro Roundup! offers a decent selection of classic Toy Story games across multiple platforms, enhanced with useful modern features and interesting documentary content. However, the incomplete lineup, limited archival material and awkward menu structure are disappointing for a collection from Digital Eclipse, especially given the studio's previous standards.

In its careful historical preservation and attention to detail, Toy Story: Retro Roundup! is flawless. However, this unwavering fidelity to the past carries the weight of decades: without adjustments to soften the impact of the years and relying only on a few external tricks to overcome its limitations, both outdated mechanics and visuals may frustrate those seeking even a minimal contemporary experience. This will certainly test the player's patience.

The collection seems more compelling as an interactive archive than as a definitive way to revisit all these games. Its value lies in preserving experiences and offering tools so that different audiences can find their own ways to enjoy them.

Toy Story: Retro Roundup! brings together a diverse collection of games with a very polished, historically-minded presentation, while Toy Story 3: Complete Edition offers a full-fledged adventure, with its "Toy Box" mode remaining its greatest highlight. While not every title has aged equally well and the remastering is modest, the collection as a whole holds special value both for those feeling nostalgic and for anyone looking to discover this era of video games based on Pixar films.

The old games featured in Toy Story: Retro Roundup! may not be all timers, but this wonderful package showcases them beautifully.
While I enjoyed my time with Toy Story: Retro Roundup, I don’t expect this will be for everyone. I see this more as a museum display rather than a game collection and I feel Digital Eclipse feels the same way since that was clearly their intention. If you want to learn a thing or two about the early days of Traveller’s Tales before they became the go-to dev team for Lego games, then I’d suggest picking this up but if you’re more interested in the games on offer, I think you should just pick up an old PS1 copy of Toy Story 2 if you can find one and leave it at that.
Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 Complete are both great. Retro Roundup is the hardest to recommend, but it has some interesting behind-the-scenes content I enjoyed. The updated visuals and resolution are a nice bonus, but the ability to rewind and play at your own pace makes it easy to digest. Toy Story 3 Complete is the clear standout, and if you play only one game from the collection, make it this one, thanks to its excellent, creative Toy Box Mode that makes you feel like a kid again.
The real appeal of Toy Story: Retro Roundup is seeing how wildly the same games could differ across consoles, with useful rewind and save features making these old favourites easier to revisit. Some handheld releases feel dated, but Toy Story 2 and the bonus A Bug's Life make this a worthwhile trip back.
Toy Story: Retro Roundup is a good collection for fans of the series and classic games, but at the same time, it is a missed opportunity to present these games the way they truly deserve. Despite the improvements and additions included, they remain limited and fail to address the most prominent issues of the original experience, particularly regarding controls and the camera. It would have been better to deliver a proper remake or remaster that develops these aspects and makes the games smoother and more enjoyable, while preserving their original spirit that made them memorable in players' minds.

A varied mix of 90s movie tie‑ins becomes far more appealing thanks to excellent extras, smart quality‑of‑life features and Digital Eclipse’s polished presentation. Even if not every game shines, the collection as a whole offers a warm, nostalgic and surprisingly generous trip back to the toy box.

Toy Story: Retro Roundup! is a lovingly curated collection that stands out above all for its excellent presentation and extensive extras. Digital Eclipse has preserved six games from the period between 1995 and 2001 and made them more accessible to a modern audience with features like a rewind function, save slots, cheat codes, and a practice mode.

Toy Story: Retro Roundup! delivers a nostalgic experience, especially for fans of the PlayStation 1 era. However, it falls short by missing the opportunity to offer a more ambitious remaster, with improvements to gameplay mechanics and new features that could have made the experience even more impactful and memorable.

Whether you want to satisfy a nostalgic craving or introduce a new generation of gamers to these classics, the Toy Story collection hits the mark. It delivers incredible value for your money and is well worth picking up.
Disney/Pixar Toy Story: Retro Roundup! is far more than a simple nostalgic collection; it is an exemplary project of video game preservation. By bringing together classics that defined the 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit eras, the package celebrates the creative ingenuity of developers who adapted these iconic universes across both home consoles and handhelds. While certain game mechanics and camera issues naturally reflect the era in which they were created, the modern quality-of-life enhancements—combined with a rich museum archive of behind-the-scenes footage, artwork, and mini-documentaries—turn this collection into a true interactive exhibition. Offered at an accessible price point, it is an essential pick-up for nostalgic fans, retro-gaming enthusiasts, and a new generation of players alike.

Toy Story: Retro Roundup! is a collection designed for those who want to revisit an important era of Pixar games without losing sight of what these titles originally were. The excellent presentation, various display modes, and features such as Rewind make revisiting these games much more comfortable on PS5, while the historical bonus content highlights the care taken with game preservation. Not all the games have aged equally well, and the lack of Portuguese-language support in the original titles may discourage younger players. Still, for fans of Toy Story and classic video games, this is a thoughtfully curated trip down memory lane.

I’ve looked at the remaster of the 2010 Toy Story 3 game, so I thought I’d give Disney/Pixar Toy Story: Retro Roundup! a go as well. This title feels more dated with its rougher textures and familiar artwork. Furthermore, there is a sense of authenticity thanks to the clunky controls, sharp colours, and simple ideas. Atari has pieced together this collaboration of 90s and early 2000s games. It is a single-player and local multiplayer title that incorporates 6 unique titles and 11 different versions combined. It’ll appeal to retro lovers and those who wish to experience a bygone era. If you only play modern games, this will not be the title for you.
This is an essential remastered collection for any fan of action, platform, or racing games, as it brings together a wide variety of titles set in the world of Pixar toys. Plus, if you're a fan of the franchise, you'll obviously love it even more.
