Lego Star Wars reinvents itself enough to avoid the usual critiques of its gameplay, only to fall short trying to stretch out its story.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the most gaming fun I've had with either series in years. The story is great, the levels are dense with fun puzzles, and unlocking all of the secrets is a blast. Whether I was going through it solo or playing alongside a buddy, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens proved to be an adaption worthy of its incredible source material.

An average action game saved by a charming sense of humour and an intoxicating sense of fun.

A fun adventure in the Star Wars universe, badly let down by too many game-breaking glitches.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn't take the Lego series to new places, but is still a solid and enjoyable romp for families and Star Wars fans.

With all of its filler, both good and bad, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens still feels like it should have waited for a few more movies. As I set about scouring the game's levels for special bricks, mini-kits and other goodies fans of the extended franchise obsess over, I keep thinking about what a great third of a trilogy game this will make once Star Wars Episode IX arrives in 2019.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn't break any new ground like LEGO Star Wars did.

This is, for children, adults, anyone, a really lovely thing, funny, silly, and tremendous fun to play. If you've a kid who just got into Star Wars via the new movie, goodness me this can't be recommended highly enough. But at the same time, and I've been the one fighting off saying this for years longer than many others, it's getting stale. I

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is certainly worth strong consideration for Wii U gamers. It's the most fun we've had with a LEGO game in quite some time, as a matter of fact - smart design, some gameplay variety and a surprisingly impressive amount of content all weigh heavily in its favour. It strikes us as a game that had one of the more experienced and imaginative TT Games teams at the helm, and it charmed and entertained us over a number of hours.Though it's one of the most enjoyable LEGO games we've played recently, it loses a point or two from us simply due to performance issues on Wii U. It struggles to maintain a tolerable framerate in co-op, and even has some tough moments in single player. That's a pity, but we still recommend it overall. This one fails to fully complete its Jedi training on Wii U, ultimately, but it's still strong in the Force.

While it's not going to change your mind one way or another, often there are two types of LEGO game, and thankfully this firmly falls into the "good" pile.

Warner Bros. has done what we all wanted EA to do: create a genuinely fun Star Wars experience that honors the beloved universe. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is incredibly fun and it's jampacked with easter eggs that'll make any fan smile. The game is full of charm and witty humor, the story is great, the levels and puzzles are terrific, and the new gameplay mechanics add a lot of much needed diversity.

However, like the film did last holiday season, few series can capture that imagination as that of Star Wars, and its LEGO rendition offers that and more with plenty to enjoy from its charming take on the latest film. Like the endless possibilities that its toys have offered, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens captures the heart and humor of Star Wars in a world where we can build Rey's story to (almost our own liking), and shows the Force is indeed still strong with the series.

Much like the film, this is more a testament to what worked before than a genuinely new experience, but it makes the best of its voice cast and an obvious love for Star Wars.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens still feels limited in nature, but it's a better, more pointed effort than Marvel's Avengers, which was all over the place. It might feel a little more stretched if you didn't go bonkers over Abrams' film, but if you're really anxious to hang out with Finn and the gang again, this is a good opportunity.

LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens is a complete success for TT Games. It achieves to be liked by every kind of player and is a great adaptation from the movie. There are tons of locked content that can be unlocked if you spend more time in the game.
