The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition Reviews
It’s the best way to play Skyrim when not doing so on a PC. It’s dated, as anything from 5 years would be, but everything added up, this is an extremely solid package and for the amount of content, I see no reason not to jump back into the world, unless the price point is your biggest worry. That aside, hours of time will be lost to Skyrim once again and I’m looking forward to it.
As with my review of DOOM before it you'll notice that to this point I haven't brought up the Switch itself in regards to the game and that's for good reason...
A wonderful recreation of Skyrim, which remains - despite rough edges and badly-aged elements - one of the greatest RPGs ever made.
It's amazing that after five years The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition can manage to fit right in with the best of the current generation. Its cold wilderness appears breathtakingly beautiful, and has been expanded on console with the introduction of mod support. Though, this package makes much more sense for console gamers who previously didn't have a way to enjoy the experience with the benefits of new hardware; on PC you don't get much for the inflated price. Nonetheless, any excuse to head back out into Skyrim and become consumed by its sense of wonder and enchanting sub-stories is a good one.
Fundamentally, stepping back into Skyrim is like revisiting one of your favorite places as a child. Everything is like you remembered it, except it's been redecorated and modernized.
Did Skyrim need a remaster? Probably not. Are we all going to buy it anyway? Probably.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is a terrific entry point for those who were unlucky enough to miss out on one of the last decade’s best open-world RPGs.
This Special Edition is nothing less and little more than Skyrim. That is either exceptionally exciting or a respectable pass, depending on how much Dhovakiin thirst the last five years has left you with.
The legendary role playing game is back on current generation consoles and it's a must play if you haven't already played it on last generation hardware.
If you've never set foot in the world of Skyrim then now's the time to get your feet wet. Still one of the best RPGs to date and that's not just nostalgia talking.
Like a fine wine, Skyrim is a game that has improved with age. I had mixed feelings about the Nintendo Switch version prior to playing, knowing what issues I faced in the PS3 version and wondering how it would perform on the Nintendo Switch. However, I had nothing to worry about - the game is fantastic on the Nintendo Switch and is a fantastic way to experience Bethesda's open-world wonder. If you haven't played this before, you are in for a treat! If you have, you're in for a pleasant surprise and returning to this world is a welcome trip down memory lane!
You can discuss graphics improvements, mods, DLCs and many more things forever. The truth is this: Skyrim is still one of the best RPGs available today.

Skyrim Special Edition delivers the same classic adventure as it did in 2011, while adding packaged DLC, an upgraded visual package and the introduction to mods that have been keeping its PC gaming life alive and kicking for the last five years. Definitely a special edition.
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition is a really good game on the PlayStation 4 and Bethesda have done a remarkable job at giving it a fresh facelift but also keeping the amazing story and gameplay. Sure, some things feel a little stiff and lacking finesse of something like The Witcher 3 but it’s quite a detailed world from its culture, denizens that populate this universe and very rich story. Lastly, the amount of time you could spend in this game is practically endless and the only potentially bad thing is that you could lose sleep because you won’t want to stop playing.
Quest, hunt, explore, get married, build a house, invest in property, slaughter entire villages – it’s up to you how you spend your time in the frozen north, and it’s absolutely worth a repeat visit.
If you’ve never had the chance to climb the snowy mountains of Skyrim, face off against its fierce Frost Trolls, or absorb the souls of dead dragons you’ve bested then jumping into Skyrim Special Edition is a no brainer.
Skyrim is still an awesome, gigantic RPG, but it can not hide its age on Nintendo Switch.

If you haven't touched Skyrim for a long time, or perhaps, somehow came in late and never played it before, then Skyrim Special Edition is an absolute treat.
This Special Edition offers a complete package, yet it does not strive to offer truly new content, other than mods, so far absent on console
