Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World Reviews
Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World remains one of the cutest games around. Even though most of the tactile charm of the Wii U original has been lost to the 3DS’s technical limitations, there’s still plenty of fun to be uncovered in this colourful and often inventive platformer. Incidentally, it also brings some of the happiest, catchiest music ever to the 3DS.
A perfectly competent platformer, perhaps Yoshi’s best since Super Mario World 2, but one that is far less unique than its visuals suggest.
Yoshi moves to the 3DS from the Wii U with little downgrading. The new modes don’t merit a re-purchase for those that played the Wii U version, but this version is a perfectly fine way to experience Woolly World
Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World’s format works well on 3DS, and the best parts of the original Wii U version still stand out.
While the core game has changed very little since its original appearance on Wii U a little more than a year ago, Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World giveth, and it taketh away. If you don't mind the visual downgrade and the loss of cooperative play, you'll probably enjoy the new additions on tap here (most of which, unsurprisingly, revolve around Yoshi's canine companion Poochy). At its heart, this is the best follow-up to Yoshi's Island to date, so it's absolutely worth your time if you missed it on Wii U.
Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is as fun on the 3DS as the original is on the Wii U. The levels are just as crafty as before, the visual take a slight hit but are still colorful and creative, and the soundtrack is so gosh darn charming. It's the best Yoshi game on the 3DS, and if you don't already own it on the Wii U, I would suggest picking it up.
Aside from the visual downgrade and lack of coop, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World is a faithfully recreation of the Wii U original for the 3DS. It is still a vibrant and appealing game, especially suited for younger children. For older gamers, hunting all the collectables for 100% completion is where the game gets challenging. Coming to handheld devices has hurt the game somewhat though.
Yoshi's Woolly World is still a funny and colorful platform game, but the screen size and resolution don't allow the original art direction to shine as it should.

A good but not great platformer that is almost as good as the original game on Wii U but considerably smaller. But Poochy is lovely.

While the titular Poochy is mostly an ancillary piece of the game through a series of mini-games and shorts, they pair well enough with the other new additions to make one think about double dipping with Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World.
Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World presents us with a wonderfully realised yarny universe to play around in, but it’s the formulaic gameplay and lack of incentive for returning players that keeps this Yoshi title from reaching platforming iconicity.
This 3DS port adds plenty of new content and features while ridding itself of the Wii U edition's biggest headache: cooperative multiplayer
Nintendo's port of Yoshi's Woolly World for the Nintendo 3DS delivers a cutesy platformer made portable, successfully bringing the dinosaur's adorable pet pooch into the fold.
Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World remains a solid platformer and a little added content will make newcomers who experience the game for the first time happy. However, the same problems are prevalent in this port, and while it’s a great experience, does lose some of its luster next to its console counterpart.
Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World won't make a huge impact on the gaming year of 2017, but is a solid, well-crafted 3DS-remake with great accessibility and variety amongst its colorful levels.

Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World retains much of the traditional “Yoshi” style gameplay you’ve likely played in past Yoshi games such as 2014’s Yoshi’s New Island.
Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World is a nice port of the Wii U version, though anyone with the Wii U version might not find enough to warrant picking up this one. The difficulty is easy for veteran gamers but could be challenging for younger players. That doesn't, however, stop it from being a fun and casual game that will remind you of Yoshi's more classic outings.
Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is good portable adaptation of home platform game with adventure elements, which is primarily captivating by cute knit art design. Beautiful graphics, low difficulty, lots of secrets and a special section with small cartoons will delight the youngest audience. Older players will probably prefer something more complicated and dynamic.

If you're looking for a challenging Nintendo platformer or you got your fill from the Wii U version, you're better off looking elsewhere. This is a solid game that runs well on the 3DS, but its extras don't really warrant a double dip or a purchase from a player looking for difficulty.
If you missed out on the original Woolly World, don’t make the same mistake on the 3DS. This is a beautifully made, brilliantly designed 2D platformer with lots of charm and some fantastic levels. It gives Mario’s dino chum his best outing since the original Yoshi’s Island 20 years ago.
