Everspace provides some of the most unique experiences I've had in gaming this year, and it does so with style, featuring awe-inspiring visuals and intense gameplay, all without the budget and support of a AAA publishing studio.
Everspace is a refreshing take on the roguelike genre from the creators of Galaxy On Fire. Set up in outer space, players will have to scavenge for resources and fight their way through procedurally generated scenarios.

Everspace is at its best when one or two bits of your ship are busted and you have to improvise slightly during fights and prioritise finding the nearest mechanic station or a pile of nanobots. When the pressure is on and it embraces those sim-lite incidents, it can overcome its dogfighting simplicity and dainty flight controls. For me, however, I'm not sure that's enough to keep playing.
Everspace struts capably into a crowded field and proves itself as a vital experience worth revisiting again and again. This is the first game from the team at Rockfish, and they've certainly set the bar high for themselves.
With a gorgeous, ever-changing setting, unique and functional control scheme, and some fantastic roguelike elements, Everspace is an essential experience for fans of space shooters.
Rockfish roguelite hybrid confirms all its qualities in terms of gameplay concept, graphic features and pure fun. The epilogue remains a little bit disappointing togheter with the not so exellent enemies AI, but the core of the game is great

If you can get past Everspace's few flaws, a game that merges the best parts of roguelikes and space shooters exposes itself. If you've been following Everspace from the beginning and have just been waiting for the time when your PS4 can get it done, your patience has been rewarded. If you've never heard of Everspace and aren't sure if it will play at your speed, give it a shot. Dollar to donuts: you'll spend far too much time playing it.
It's a great roguelike in form of a space simulator. The game looks good, but after a while it gets quite repetitive. Nevertheless, every fan of the genre should try Everspace.

Overall, I'd have to say the wait for EVERSPACE on PlayStation 4 has been worth it. There's a ton of content to enjoy in this one, and if you end up playing it and like what you see, you might want to also get the Encounters DLC which adds a new spaceship, the Colonial Sentinel, as well as several hours of extra gameplay with new questlines, new factory space stations, and more! Or, you know, you can also get the EVERSPACE Stellar Edition which includes the game, the Encounters DLC, the EVERSPACE soundtrack and an EVERSPACE dynamic theme!
In most senses, then, Everspace is quite an audio-visual treat, as well just as an excellent arcade 3D space shooter. While it's not perfect, suffering from a lack of design variance in some ways, it should be admired for committing to a fragmented sector structure, which does ensure every play session is fluid and action-packed.
Between its beautiful visuals, tight controls, and harrowing battles, Everspace is a must-play game for lovers of space exploration and roguelikes.
