Cat Quest Reviews
Cat Quest is a game about a cat going on an adventure, nothing more and nothing less, but I'll tell you what: it's a bloody good adventure.
Still, it’s an above-average trek down a narrow and familiar path; a dalliance not to be furgotten. If you enjoy classic Zelda games, cute cats, and bad puns, give it a chance. (Especially if there are kids around.)
Cat Quest is overall quite a simplistic game, however, simplicity does have its charm. It is an easy game to get into as well as fun to play for those wanting to experience a light-hearted RPG.
Cat Quest is a delightfully charming experience, one that people may overlook as a kids game, and they would be sorely mistaken.
Cat Quest does exactly what it says on the tin - this is a full RPG experience, condensed into a few hours of play, stuffed to the brim with adorable kitties and cat puns. If you want a short but sweet RPG with plenty of moments that will make you smile, Cat Quest can be a great choice, especially for kids.
Seven hours or so after starting your adventure the main quest will be over, but it speaks volumes that you'll probably still want to go and explore the world and grow stronger still. It's not because Cat Quest is deep or meaningful, it's because it's just fun, and that's all a game needs to be.
Whilst Cat Quest doesn’t offer an in depth RPG experience that smashes through the boundaries of game design, it doesn’t stop it offering a thoroughly entertaining adventure to embark on. It prides itself on its simplicity with almost all aspects of the game having an easily accessible feel, yet it is thanks to this approach that the game feels so satisfying to play and easy to find yourself hooked into. Add to that the charming game world and it’s hard not to find yourself absorbed into this tale of felines and Dragons. It’s over fairly quickly and doesn’t do anything that’ll blow you away, but overall Cat Quest offers a charming little adventure that even the most hardcore of RPG purrr-ists will be able to enjoy.
Despite some irritating writing, and some difficulty balancing issues, Cat Quest is an amazing RPG. It takes the best features of other RPGs, and distils them down into a simple cocktail of fun mechanics and memorable moments. This should do good to scratch an itch for those who have never played a game like it, and those who swear by them. In short, this is a solid title, with few issues really holding it back.
Cat Quest is a good, short RPG that any cat lover will enjoy; just don't go into it looking for anything more than cute kitties and tons of feline puns.
Full of fun and a joy to get lost in, Cat Quest is only a few whiskers short of being the purrfect game.
If you're looking for a simplistic yet fun action RPG set in a charming world then Cat Quest is a definite must-buy game.
An adorably charming action RPG, Cat Quest might not hold a great deal of challenge for veterans, but youngsters, genre newbies and especially cat owners will find much to love in its epic tale of furious furries.
It feels like the Gentlebros were having a blast making this game. After beating the boss, there are plenty of other side quests to go on if you'd like, and the generous save system makes it possible to play it for just a little while and then put it down. Cat Quest doesn't reinvent the RPG genre. Instead it just does it well, with some cute cats to boot.
This is a game that is aware of its goofy setup and relishes in a sea of cat puns and insanity. It's not a terribly long game - I rolled credits within a few hours - but it's a fun romp with a straightforward and entertaining action RPG style. Cat Quest is a game that likely won't stick with me for too long, but it was a pleasant time basking in cat gags and beating up on foes with swords and magic.
I'm glad that this is not a game that outstays its welcome, but at the same time it's not a game I'll remember, beyond that adorable skipping run of my adorable little furrball.
Cat Quest's combat can get stale and the lacklustre dungeon design definitely hampers exploration, but the surprisingly entertaining story and cool loot system is enough to keep you engaged to see it through to the end, if, you're playing in short bursts.
Colorful and fun, Cat Quest is a simple action-RPG with a great heart. And lots of cats.

Cat Quest is a decent little game that we'd definitely recommend, with a charmingly cute presentation and a solid combat system that together form an overall enjoyable experience. Although you will definitely feel the pangs of repetition, there's just about enough here to keep you engaged until you reach the title's satisfying conclusion. If you're a big RPG fan or you're a cat purr-son, then Cat Quest is going to be right up your alley.
A cute hack-and-slash RPG with a lot of charm that falls short of the mark thanks to its inescapable tedium
Overall I really have enjoyed my time with Cat Quest and am impressed that the humor and theming is simply icing on the cake and not a replacement for solid gameplay. While it isn’t a hardcore game by any means I think its light action is pretty compelling and very well-suited to the portability of the Switch. If you’re in search of a very light action RPG that has a plentiful amount of charm Cat Quest is quite satisfying.
