Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 features arguably the best multiplayer and co-op experience in the series thanks to the addition of Blackout to its highly polished staple of Zombies and regular multiplayer modes. It even adds split-screen play at a time when such a feature has become rare. At the same time, the excellent online modes make the lack of a campaign mode even more regrettable. The addition of a solid campaign mode could have made this the best COD game to date. As it is now, this one’s for multiplayer lovers only.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is one of the best multiplayer shooters of the year. Its new proposal and the Battle Royale mode make it a must of this generation.

Treyarch's big gamble pays off with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Zombies may still do nothing for me, but the reworked gameplay, impressive suite of multiplayer modes -- especially Blackout -- make this the best entry in quite some time.

Some fans of the Call of Duty franchise may have left, but Black Ops 4 is arguably the best time to come back. This may be the best instalment of the franchise yet.

Overall, a lack of cohesion hurts Black Ops 4. Playing through every mode is rewarding in its own right, but it doesn't feel like you're working toward anything in the long run.

With 3 strong and well designed online experiences, Black Ops 4 achieves a fantastic and addictive experience for young players. With it's own Battle Royale called Black Out turns out to be better than people expect and could set a new direction for this popular genre. A must entry for Call of Duty long time fans.

If you're a fan of Call of Duty multiplayer offerings - boy howdy do Treyarch have an instalment for you. But, if you're in it for the single player, you're going to be severely disappointed – though hopefully that's not a surprise, considering we've known there would be no campaign for five months. The combination of Multiplayer, Zombies and the brilliant new Battle Royale mode Blackout, offer a multiplayer feast. A smorgasbord of experiences which makes it feel like a package which will remain interesting, fun and exciting far beyond the release of the next annual COD instalment.

If you're the sort of gamer who usually looks down their nose at the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops 4 might just be the game that changes your opinion ever so slightly. Old-school purists can find their competitive multiplayer fix, and with the revamped Zombies and new Blackout mode, there's no denying that Treyarch's latest stands well out from the pack.

All in all, Black Ops 4 is a really solid and polished package of multiplayer goodness. As I made my way through the multiplayer ranks, I found myself thinking about the missing single-player campaign less.

CoD Black Ops 4 is a good game, where Treyarch succeeds in offering a AAA Battle Royale experience packed with goods ideas. The Zombie mode is bigger and exhilarating, but unfortunately the classic multiplayer mode doesn't offer anything really new. All that is not enough to make us all forget the solo campaign, who totally disappeared in this episode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has made some bold changes to the series, and ultimately, they're for the better. The inclusion of a battle royale mode is a first, and even the more familiar multiplayer and Zombies survival mode are not what they once were. Changes are always risky, but in Black Ops 4's case, it worked out for the better.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is fantastic, plain and simple. The concerns over the game not being worth it due to a lack of a single-player campaign seem overblown, when compared to how much effort was put into improving the online moes. This easily feels like one of the most content-filled Call of Duty entries and I can absolutely recommend picking this up, even if you're a since-jaded fan of the first-person shooter series.

In Blackout, Treyarch has proved the series can still be agile and forward-thinking, while smart changes to Zombies and multiplayer show there's still plenty of life in these old bones.

There's no denying Call of Duty is a well put together AAA game. In my first few hours with Call of Duty Black Ops 4, the most consistent aspect was how slick everything feels, exuding quality all over the place like a big ol' quality hose.

Black Ops 4 offers ingenious innovations such as the exciting blackout mode and a lot of scope. A must-have - except for fans of the solo campaign.

Black Ops 4 flashes all the things this series is best known for – the new Call of Duty is a festival of joyous, dynamic and bombastic online fragging. The Zombie mode is especially good, but the infamous Blackout mode doesn't quite deliver. All in all, CoD holds up pretty well, but it's easy to find numerous pitfalls.

Improving what it's done time and time and time and time again with a sexier (read: crasser) coat of paint thrown on it. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 does exactly what it says on the tin — that is, not very much of anything new or different.
