Devolver Digital's GRIS is one of the best-looking and most emotional games of the current generation.
It is very complex to be able to start talking about GRIS since it is a unique experience that pushes the narrative limits of the game as a medium. It is one of those works that make a difference, perhaps not with commercial success and recognition of the general public but in its nature of art has the quality that gives "What to think", that is, encourages critical thinking while leading to player to find emotional resonance in the journey of his trip. With its first game, the newborn Nomada Studio hit the sky. With its striking evocative force, GRIS not only pleases the eyes, thanks to Conrad Roset's beautiful art style, but speaks to all of our senses. Revealing its numerous tricks one by one, the game succeed in delivering both splendid an complex visuals without ever getting frustrating. Worn by a sumptuous soundtrack which tells the story as much as the background, GRIS is nothing but a true masterpiece.

GRIS is an emotional journey through a beautifully crafted world. Featuring one of the most gorgeous art styles we've seen this year, GRIS deserves your attention. Nomada Studios has crafted a truly memorable experience and as the developer's debut game, they've set the bar extremely high for whatever comes next.
The debut of Nomada Studio is therefore a small synaesthetic prodigy that, in the face of a symbolism partly bulimic and not always fully communicative, will often leave you speechless. Just like the young Gris.
As a one-off experience or one-time playthrough, GRIS is certainly one of the most artistic and provocative experiences I've seen in video games. While I would've liked to see a more fleshed out world, with meaningful collectibles and more puzzles to solve, GRIS is still worth a look for anyone who has an interest in platformers or silent stories.
GRIS is not only a perfectly designed puzzle-platformer, it's a title that whisks the player away on a journey of colorful catharsis. Surprises are waiting around every corner of this ever-evolving world, and its stride remains strong, from the onset until the very end.
GRIS features outstanding graphics, beautiful cinematics, and whimsical music. While it lacks in gameplay and replayability, it handily makes up for it in its presentation.
All that said, if you’ve played and enjoyed GRIS in the past – let it be known that this is undeniably the same game. While I’d enthusiastically advocate a replay to anyone, I wouldn’t go as far as saying that the 4K120 presentation is reason enough to double-dip in place of any of the many other compelling indie releases of 2022. If you’re fresh to the experience, don’t hesitate a second, but otherwise consider whether you possess the technology to get the most out of this new port and/or whether you’ve had your fill of what GRIS has to offer before now.
A gorgeous yet ultimately shallow platformer, which tries its best to connect emotionally but disappoints almost as much as it dazzles.
Gris is watercolor wonderland fashioned to explore and confront elements of despair and anguish. Its communication through sound and motion paints visually arresting moments and creates intimately powerful movements. Concealed inside all of this is clever and versatile platformer, an asset Gris is confident to hold as collateral for the sake of its delicate heart.

This is the first time I have given a game 10/10. I said I never would give a game that score but I cannot find anything bad to say about Gris. Its near-perfect. Brilliant art style, beautiful music and brilliant gameplay. It all combines into a controllable watercolour of pure joy. Just go and play it now, I wish I could experience it again for the first time.
Gris is a visually stunning 2D platformer with decent gameplay mechanics and a fantastic soundtrack.
Gris creates a colorful, unique and unforgettable inner world, with a beautiful art style, and great music. Although Nomada Studio can make its game more fun to play, as the first piece of its works, Gris is still a fantastic indie game.

Gris is art in motion and arguably the most gorgeous game I've played this year.
Like a beautiful and minimal watercolour painting or an evocative piece of album art come to life - GRIS is short, sweet, and often inspiring.
