Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Gathering Storm Reviews
The Gathering Storm is certainly worth the price tag to me and I’ve lost sleep and been late to work in order to squeeze a few more turns out. If you’re dedicated to the 4X genre and enjoy Civ VI already, it’s well worth the price tag.
Civilization 6: Gathering Storm is the second expansion to the sixth part of the Primer of the Round Strategy. The name therefore has the addon that the environment plays a major role this time and can significantly influence events through natural disasters. However, humans are not uninvolved because their actions, such as high CO2 emissions, lead to catastrophes, just like in real life. Since it may happen that the polar ice melts and the sea game angel rises so much that our cities are lost on the coasts. Environmentally conscious action is therefore beneficial and rewarded. The use of raw materials has been revised and they are now produced per round and can then be used for building. On the political side, we now have the World Congress, where we regularly vote on events around the world among all parties. As a result, the diplomacy victory is back and our diplomacy value affects how much our vote counts. All in all, Gathering Storm Civilization is a lot better and therefore highly recommended.

While Gathering Storm still carries a lot of the issues presented by the base game, its new mechanics – especially with some in game tweaking – shakes up significantly the metagame, how to treat territorial expansion and give a new perspective on diplomacy. If you haven’t tried Civilization VI, now it’s the best time to do so.

The most important and arguably the greatest Civ Expansion of All Time. Just thinking about it now is giving me the itch to dive back in. Wonderful!
Civilization VI: Gathering Storm is a great expansion that adds a number of interesting new world-affecting gameplay mechanics.
A worthy expansion, given you own Rise and Fall first and get this on a sale.
With great changes to to diplomacy, units and new climatic events, Gathering Storm is this year justification to return to Civilization VI.

With embellished diplomatic options and climate change bringing new strategic choices, Gathering Storm is a whole new way to play Civ VI.
Civilization VI: Gathering Storm is not perfect, but it made Civilization VI better overall, and that's pretty much what people want from an expansion.
Gathering Storm is a great expansion. The quality of leader designs leaves me in anticipation for an upcoming DLC, and potentially, another expansion on the horizon.
Gathering Storm is a good extension, and the ecology/pollution is a good surprise. On an other hand, diplomacy and the National Congress is lack of depth.

Gathering Storm succeeds in the difficult task of refreshing Civ VI experience while keeping its spirit intact. The enviromentalist theme is pretty spot on and the renewed diplomatic options will make it the ideal expansion for those who don't measure their success in terms of the length of their artillery.

Gathering Storm comes with some minor drawbacks, but I can easily recommend it to fans of Civilization VI. Bear in mind, though, that the new additions and tweaks in the mechanics may require some getting used to. Furthermore, the roster of civilizations hasn't been better in a very long time.

Gathering Storm is a chunky collection of small remixes that amount to a big difference.
Growing a small group of settlers into a world-spanning superpower is rewarding at every step
Gathering Storm is an interesting expansion, which could have been much better if Firaxis had spent more time working out the AI and micromanagement aspect.

Civilization VI: Gathering Storm has new leaders, wonders, and mechanics to freshen up your experience. Unfortunately, some of these features occur fairly late, or are non-factors in your playthroughs.
The latest Civilization VI expansion handles a difficult subject matter with great insight and in a way that improves the game and makes you think of the world beyond it.
