The Outer Worlds Reviews
The Outer Worlds is the game that fans have wanted Obsidian Entertainment to make for the better part of a decade. The story is the main attraction here, with Obsidian's witty writing coming to the fore in an interesting and funny interstellar setting. If that's what you look for in your RPGs, The Outer Worlds will not disappoint.
In an alternate reality where modern Fallout retained the the focus on choice and role-playing, The Outer Worlds would be the result. Obsidian Entertainment delivers this small window into that alternate reality, a game that prizes picking the right skills to tackle weird and wild situations. The Outer Worlds shines in the writing, but the combat doesn't equally rise to the occasion. Likewise, the planets you visit could use a few more quests or interesting spots to explore. The Outer Worlds is still a fun romp though, something that will hopefully build to something bigger in the future.
The Outer Worlds marks Obsidian operating at the top of its game, and a strong foundation for a new franchise that seems destined for greatness.
If you like classic role playing games, The Outer Worlds will totally absorb you away from real life and keep you entertained. Also, follower system is quite successful.

The Outer Worlds is a small GDR in size but great in spirit. Obsidian points to the stars of the ruolistic firmament with a razor-sharp writing, subtly refined and deliberately over the top.

Obsidian knows what to do. Knowing why Fallout New Vegas was liked, they have created a spiritual successor that focuses on its strengths and adds an exquisite sense of humor to make us spend a few entertaining hours.

The Outer Worlds is a wild adventure that really goes out of its way to give the players a memorable experience in a very replayable way. There is life in the game and there’s barely any annoyances that would make one think otherwise of playing it. The decision making you do as a player really solidifies its core element which is the player’s choice (not Spacer’s Choice). Every little thing you do in the Outer Worlds will have an impact on you whether you noticed it or not.
The Switch version of The Outer Worlds is pure role-playing on the go: at the price of some low-res textures, you can take a whole galaxy with you wherever you want.

The Outer Worlds is more than the spiritual heir to Fallout: New Vegas. Is a rich and imaginative game about politics, the influence of corporations in our lives and everything there's in between.

Obsidian has created the RPG that Bethesda didn't wanted to make before and after Fallout 76. A great adventure that you should experience.

Before fully getting into why I think this is an excellent title, and a breath of fresh air I’ve been needing on Switch, we’ll get to the elephant in the room...
If one has been craving a true single-player RPG with a good leveling system, fantastic voice acting, good storytelling, and excellent pacing, then The Outer Worlds is a game that gamers must play. The game lasts around 30 hours, and that’s including completing both the main storyline and majority of side quests. Thankfully, with how many choices players have in this game, the replay value is high. It’s always fun to see the other outcomes in one’s next playthrough—or tenth.
The Outer Worlds succeeds as a contemporary realization of Obsidian’s classic RPG formula. It’s an experience in which player agency takes center stage, therefore, it carries plenty of replay value. However, it’s best played by focusing on its core strengths, taking the passive approach, and leaving combat as the last resort.
If you enjoy deep engaging stories and strong RPG elements or science fiction. I completely recommend the Outer Worlds, as it is more than Fallout in Outer Space.
The Outer Worlds is a fun return to a tried and true formula. It doesn't break any molds, but it does approach its genre with a bit more nuance than we've seen in quite some time.
The Outer Worlds proves less is more. Obsidian knocks it out of the park with great writing, fun combat, and deep RPG mechanics.
