Citizens of Space is a well-crafted follow-up to the original that manages to keep its sense of humor intact while completely revamping its gameplay.

Citizens of Space is a measured step up over its predecessor, and we hope that Eden Industries will continue this upward momentum with whatever project is coming up next.

Errors, glitches and other technical issues, and the passivity to fix them, are too numerous and important to give it the highest rating it would deserve.

You can really see that the developer has tried hard to address the criticisms of the first game. The mini-games are a fun new addition to the combat system but don't totally eliminate the repetitive nature of the fights. The memorable cast of characters and kooky storyline helps to keep things fresh but ultimately this isn't too different from the first Citizens game.

It's always nice to be surprised by a title. Citizens of Space is one of those games where you can see the passion and more importantly the fun the developers had making it. Citizens of Space oozes charisma and for those looking for a fun silly experience, this is the game for you.

Citizens of Space is a solid follow-up to a truly unique RPG experience. There is little else like it, especially on Xbox One. It is a game that can be played without having to worry about the first title and it is definitely worth the time. I just wish it took a little less of it. It feels padded in the places that make it drag on occasion, however the writing and performances pick up the slack, making this one diamond in the rough that should not be missed.

really wished that all the things that Citizens of Space does well weren’t attached to a game that is so… in your face. It borders on obnoxious but keeps the annoying line repeats and the length of time to get anywhere just under the bar of annoying. It did, however, prevent me from being able to play for a big chunk of time and it sucked a lot of the fun out of the well-done aspects of the game.

Citizens of Space is a fun old-school-style RPG with a nice recipe that improves on Citizens of Earth, but could’ve used a bit more time in the oven. The Paper Mario-style combat is a strong point, especially with the plethora of strategies you can use to mix things up. The alien and enemy designs are also interesting and look great visually. The game’s reliance on fetch quests and RNG encounters, however, can get taxing and its attempts at humor also can be hit or miss. Add some issues with glitches and you have a game that’s solid overall but doesn't quite reach its full potential.

Similar to how Citizens of Earth is a fun, yet imperfect, ode to Earthbound, so too is its sequel an interesting but flawed take on the RPG genre.

An unfortunate failure to launch that suffers under the weight of its well-intended gameplay.

For what Citizens of Space is, it's hard to find much fault with it - a not overly long, light-hearted, witty jaunt through a surprisingly well written and well playing inter-galactic adventure.

A competent, corny role-playing game with a lively battle system, dozens of recruitable characters, some narrative woes, and too many game-ending crashes.

Citizens of Space is an amusing comedic RPG that is very rough due to technical issues. Perhaps after the bugs get ironed out it can be recommended, but in its current state it just has too many flaws that will distract. The side-quests are amusing as varied enough to break up the completely linear main plot and one could easy find these optional diversions to be the most entertaining piece to this package. Anyone who enjoyed Citizens of Earth is certain to get a lot of enjoyment from Citizens of Space.

Citizens Of Space offers a ton of worthwhile content for anyone in search of something light. Technical issues keep the adventure from matching its scenario's quality, but the excellent music plays on in my head. The last 9% of Earth still calls. The galaxy may be saved, but this ambassador ambasses on.

Citizens of Space wraps many innovative features together into a mechanically engaging and entertaining RPG, that falls short in creating dramatic tension.

Citizens of Space is a game which takes inspirations from many other turn-based strategy games, but is set in distant future. We are ambassador from Earth and have to figure out why it's missing. You assemble your interplanetary team and can enjoy some good old turn-based combat with a QTE twist, which makes it slightly more engaging than most.

I just have a hard time figuring out what the ambition or goal behind this game is. Who was this game for? I honestly don’t know of anyone that would find the writing style funny or would be willing to stick it out for the full length of the game. Personally, I think comedy is better when its balanced with drama. Having a focus on comedy doesn’t mean you have to constantly have an attempt at a joke in every single line of dialogue. It doesn’t help that none of the jokes landed for me. Maybe a small chuckle here and there, but more often than not, I found it annoying. I also don’t think it means you have to forego any sort of real character development. This feels like an episode of some bad “adult” cartoon sitcom but stretched to 30 hours. If you really like that sort of humor, I suppose I can recommend it. $15 is a pretty cheap price, so you might get your money’s worth. For everyone else though, I can’t recommend it.

To be sure, the game oozes with creativity at nearly every turn. But it takes a risk in going with a story focused primarily on humor, which unfortunately doesn't pay off, and is instead overburdened with mostly predictable punchlines and tired, overused phrases.
