Remnant: From the Ashes Reviews
Remnant: From the Ashes is a co-op action-RPG that's punishing and grotesque, but exciting and beautiful all at the same time. Despite the occasional difficulty spikes and slightly disappointing gear system, the thrill of finally beating a boss that's had your number for hours is unmatched.
A flawed but fascinating hybrid, Remnant: From the Ashes is a looter-shooter charged with potential.
Gobs of lackluster bosses and lack of any real endgame experience drag down a whimsical world full of secrets, challenges, and fun customization
Before I started Remnant, I was worried that its ranged combat wouldn’t provide the same kind of challenge or depth as other, more melee-focused, action games. But Remnant is still finding ways to surprise and challenge me, after I’ve put nearly 10 hours into the game, and each boss teaches me something new about the game and how to play it. I can’t wait to see what I’ll learn next, and what I’ll see — and kill — on the way.
Although not all of its ideas mesh at times, Remnant: From the Ashes is still a satisfying action-adventure with punchy third-person shooting and fantastic bosses to overcome.
In one sense, Gunfire Games have seemingly achieved the impossible in providing us with a shooter-focused RPG whose gameplay loop is validated by its plentiful, challenging encounters.
Remnant: From the Ashes on Switch is a good port, and although the visuals and load times can be an issue, I still loved playing it again.
Remnant: From the Ashes is an interesting mashup of genres, ultimately creating an experience that can stand alongside even the best Soulslikes
Despite some early game woes and a premise that doesn't fully pan out, Remnant: From the Ashes is a very unique game.
Remnant: From the Ashes it's an entertaining and challenging game, that also give us some options to try it's gameplay and challenge its enemies. However, you should not forget that it's mainly a coop game, and playing alone can be tough or even frustrating for the most part of the journey.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a game that mixes every trendy mechanic. Shooter, procedural generation, Souls-like combat, online focus… But, somehow, Gunfire manages to make something unique ad fresh that, even with some flaws, is fun ad interesting from the beginning to the end.

Remnant: From the Ashes takes too long to get going, but when it does, it lets it rip. The randomization element is too half-baked to really propel this project above the rest of its ilk, but Gunfire Games has some really good ideas that I hope to see employed more often in the future.
If you've always dreamed of a sort of post-apocalyptic soulslike with guns and rifles, procedural levels and third-person shooter mechanics, you've found it.

Remnant: From the Ashes is immediately familiar and infinitely enjoyable. Gunfire Games has created something really special.
At a budget price and launching with a last minute ad bumrush, Remnant: From the Ashes is the kind of title you'd expect to come out and vanish quickly. But for fans of tough RPGs, action shooters, or post-apocalyptic fiction, passing up on Remnant would be a devastating mistake. It easily joins the ranks of games like Vampyr, that stubbornly outgrow their financial constraints to truly innovate and elevate a genre that has long since needed new ideas.
If you like loot shooters and some of the core systems from the Souls games, Remnant: From the Ashes shouldn't disappoint.
I don't think I've ever played a game like this before where I've actively communicated about strategies because everything is so diverse from player to player.
Fans of shooters and challenging games will have a lot of fun here. Sure, the boss fights can get a bit annoying with the minions, the randomly generated areas can get repetitive, and the co-op, while it works well, isn’t perfect, but the world, the action, and the feel of Remnant is really what makes it a great playing game and one I think everyone should give a shot, especially at the price point it is at.
Frankly copying the mechanics of other projects, Remnant: From the Ashes tries to bring something new and interesting to the gameplay. Fans of Soulsborne and cooperative games will definitely like it. Everyone else can try it with discount.
