Sackboy: A Big Adventure Reviews
Sackboy: A Big Adventure takes the franchise in a new direction while still maintaining the infectious charm of its predecessors
A great solo debut for one of the most adorable PlayStation's mascot with a more tradicional and old-school platformer.

While I didn’t have as great a time with Sackboy: A Big Adventure as I did Astro’s Playroom, this was still a fun time. It’s definitely a much longer platformer, and it offers a lot more challenge as well. It doesn’t take as much advantage of the DualSense controller on PlayStation 5, but this is likely due to the game being available on PlayStation 4 as well. Either way, Sackboy is still a strong platformer for friends and families to play together this holiday season. The levels are diverse, the music is catchy, and the charm is excellent.
Sackboy: Big Adventure is a remarkable platforming title that presents well solidified concepts. Demonstrating an almost perfect gameplay, complemented with an interesting and differentiated level design is possibly one of Sony's most interesting bets for the beginning of this new generation. Complemented with an excellent characters' characterization, the protagonist in particular, it is a sure bet not only for fans of the genre, but also for players in general. The challenge remains for producers to take more risks in the future in order to evolve and present new concepts within the genre.

Sackboy has never been cuter, and in short, thanks to the added full-fledged story, you see him as the little hero who can do impossible things. The game takes a recommendation of 8 points and is another great family exclusive game, which we simply missed on PlayStation.

At its core, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a well-polished 3d platformer that has a lot of style and a very unique charm. It has pushed Sackboy even further into the realm of respected video game characters. The creativity we see in the level design may not have made its way to the puzzles but this does not stop this game being a great game to play on your shiny new PlayStation 5.
If you were lucky enough to score a PS5 this holiday, Sackboy is a 3D audio showcase. If you can’t get enough of the PS5’s pack in-game Astro’s Playroom, Sackboy: A Big Adventure fills a platforming void Sony has been missing for years. While it does have some problems, these are issues most people will be able to get past. Even if it is resorting to buying the $90 version of the game to play as Sackboy Porter Bridges. Or never leaving the disc in your PS5 when you turn the console on. If you are looking for a family game to go with that new PS5, or are just wondering what happened to the platformers in Sony’s past, Sackboy is a must buy.
One of the best games of 2020
Sackboy: A Big Adventure has flew a bit under the radar, but it definitely deserves your attention. From the PlayStation 5 launch line-up, it's definitely among the biggest surprises.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is easily one of the most charming and delightful games of the year, and another knockout launch title for the PlayStation 5 - and that's saying something considering it has to compete with Astro's Playroom. The levels are all creatively designed and endearing, the customizable choices for Sackboy is reminiscent of LittleBigPlanet, and the music is top-notch.

Overall, a great start for the PS5 era and a perfect example of a game that doesn’t have to be in-your-face to still dazzle.
Sackboy's presence leading the charge will no doubt attract those who are fond of their favourite PlayStation plush mascot from their childhood. Sackboy: A Big Adventure is an essential for PlayStation 5 owners, and one for PlayStation 4 fans to ring out the generation.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is the go-to game for couch co-op with family at the PS5’s launch, and can be played by children as young as four (we had fun!).
