Persona 5 Strikers is a worthy addition to the Persona 5 game line. If you enjoyed the previous exploits of the Phantom Thieves, then you will love everything this game has to offer.

Persona 5 Strikers is a brilliantly executed melding of the Dynasty Warriors style gameplay with Persona 5 characters and systems. It delivers a solid story while staying true to the roots of both games. There were some small issues with how some of the systems were set up, the default sorting for the items list for one, and I wish some of the actual content of my P5R saves would have carried over. Despite these minor issues, I had a blast hanging with the Phantom Thieves again and working to make the world a better place. I would never have thought to ask for this melding, but it's a beautiful experience.

Persona 5 Strikers calls back the beloved heroes of the original RPG in a sympathetic but sometimes rough beat'em all. Accross all of Japan, Omega Force's new crossover delivers a colorful follow-up which still lacks for true depth and originality, still sticking to the visual identify of its brilliant inspiration.

Strikers is still a well-earned vacation for our heroes, an emphatic, energetic punctuation mark to a much larger experience.

Persona 5 Strikers is not what you think. It is not a musou game or another Warriors game. It is an amazing Persona RPG action title. One of the best surprises of the year.

Persona 5 Strikers is much more of an action RPG than it is a straight Musou but it still manages to pull in the best of both worlds. The fun combat system and a fantastic cast of characters more than makes up any of the game's issues.

Persona 5 Strikers can be a bit complicated to rate, particularly for folks who love Warriors games but don’t like Persona games or folks who love Persona games but don’t like Warriors games. I can honestly see its fusion of mechanics from both franchises either pleasing or alienating either fan base, whether it be its chunky story or the addition of sneaking mechanics in a Warriors game. If you happen to like Warriors games and Persona 5, however, Persona 5 Strikers is the kind of game that just might steal your heart.

Playing Persona 5 Strikers is like being blessed with a reunion special of a beloved series that ended years ago. It feels different, perhaps through a new lens or just more timely, but the characters you grew to cherish are all back for one last, terrific adventure. Omega Force's influence is clear, but the game walks a confident line between the traditional Persona format and a musou spin-off. If you're a fan, do yourself a favour and don't sleep on this – Strikers is one hell of a road trip that deserves to be considered a proper sequel.

Strikers captures the affable singularity of Persona 5 while shifting its perspective from a turn-based slow burn to an action-focused escapade. At the same time, Strikers' devotion to its source material succeeds in keeping the player active and invested amid the turbulence of its strained support structure. It's a summer vacation masquerading as a sequel, and that seems to suit the Phantom Thieves just fine.

Persona 5 Strikers manages to add an exciting new chapter to the beloved title. Not only does it feel like a true crossover, rather than a reskinned version of another game, it genuinely brings out the best things both franchises have to offer. Combine this with great visuals, cool concepts, and striking cutscenes and it's a must for anyone who loves either game or just wants to play a Persona game without investing in an RPG. Sure, it might start off slow but it's an experience well worth the investment.

This spin-off from Koei Tecmo and Omega Force is easily several levels above the usual Musou-flavored licensed game and serves as a fantastic follow-up to Persona 5.

After having played Persona 5, and last year’s updated Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Strikers was like slipping into a warm pair of fluffy slippers. It brings back these characters I’ve spent hundreds of hours with, and gives them a nice little side story, if not a full-fledged sequel. Much like the other spinoffs, you might not enjoy the game if you aren’t familiar with the world of Persona 5, but for those who are, you’re going to have a lot of fun. There’s quite a few drawbacks, but Omega Force and Atlus have successfully converted Persona 5’s gameplay into a whole new genre, warts and all. I’m curious to see what either studio does next.

Calling Persona 5 Strikers “just another Musou game” would be a disservice. I definitely recommend giving it a shot if it was on your radar at all, since it provides an experience so removed from regular Musou games and reuniting with the Phantom Thieves for more adventures seems to guarantee a fun time. Just one more spin-off to go before Persona 5 matches Persona 4‘s record. Will we see more of the Phantom Thieves in the future? All I know for sure is that I’m on board.

All in all, I was surprised at just how well the Persona/Musou combo works. In the Persona series, combat always felt slow, tactical and specific – a game all about discovering and targeting enemies’ weaknesses to take them out before they can hurt you. These two studios have worked out how to make that same methodology work in a fast-paced action combat environment, while still feeling that same sense of mastery. The storyline feels like a true continuation of the 2016 title with characters represented accurately, unlike some past tie-in titles where the characterisation can become one-note. For fans of Persona 5 this is a great way to dive back in and get another helping of this excellent cast, and spend another few dozen hours looking at some of the most stylish UI in gaming.

A surprisingly polished and experimental game for developer Omega Force, Persona 5 Strikers is overall fairly solid but is hampered with clunky pacing and a lackluster plot.

Persona 5 Strikers succeeds in two feats that are far from simple: proposing a story capable of collecting the legacy of Persona 5 and a gameplay capable of smoothing out many of the "historical" flaws of the musou genre. Despite some stumbles, we feel like recommending the game to all Persona 5 fans, who will find here a worthy sequel to the beloved title.

Persona 5 Strikers is not only the best spin off for the series to date, it's a surprisingly great game on its own merits, and worthy of the "Persona 5-2" marketing it has received. Newcomers and fans alike will find a great game to enjoy here.

Persona 5 Strikers is an explosive return to the world of Persona 5. Care has been taken to keep the essence of Atlus’ RPG intact to recapture the soul of Persona. Omega Force could have easily gone the standard Warriors route, but they changed their plan, adding in their own little twist to the formula by adjusting the battle system to real time and streamlining the experience. Combat is exciting and quick, the story interesting, once again putting the wonderful characters into the spotlight and adding more to their already defined traits. Persona 5 Strikers might not be the full fat Persona experience nor a true Warriors game – it is certainly targeting the Persona fans more than Warriors fans – but it is a quality extension to the Persona 5 story, a worthy summer road trip that might be advertised as a spin-off, but truly feels more like a sequel with a new flavour sprinkled on top.

This new action JRPG blends the brilliant style and story of Persona 5 with dynasty warriors gameplay, giving us whole new way to experience this stellar world Atlus has created.
