Cruis'n Blast is a faithful port of the arcade classic, that suffers from the straight port of the same game. It's fun, it's fast, and will keep you entertained for hours. However, unless you're a huge fan of arcade racers, you may end up putting this down and never picking it back up. There's no substance and that hurts the game in the long run.

Cruis'n Blast is an absurd, bombastic, and fun trip through the Wayback Machine to the days of quarter-munching arcade racers.

So in closing, is Cruis’n Blast fun? Absolutely. Is it worth the price tag? For all the arcade fun without munching through quarters? Absolutely.

Cruis'n Blast for Nintendo Switch has been developed by a very small team, and for what it has achieved it is very admirable. It is an incredibly fun title for the first couple of hours, but it is lacking in any real depth to make it anything more than a fun weekend. Grabbing friends locally for a few races can be an absolutely blast, but lacking any online modes whatsoever somewhat dampens the mood. The lack of modes is one thing, but the course variety is also another issue with most tracks being direct derivatives of the original five arcade ones. However, if a simple, easy to handle racer that has some astounding set pieces and outlandish vehicle choices is your type of thing, then Cruis'n Blast will definitely satisfy the urge.

Cruis'n Blast is an excellent return for the series and genre as a whole. The lack of online multiplayer hurts but there is a lot to enjoy for solo players and those who can play locally. Fantastic visuals and track set-pieces make this an engaging, fun time.

Cruis'n Blast is a very pleasant surprise for those who crave arcade racing over the simulation style. It nails the speed and the ease with which anyone can pick it up and play, thanks to a simplified control scheme and the easy AI difficulty in the early stages. Although the variety is superficial, there's a good variety of tracks here and plenty of oddball vehicles for players to unlock. One can argue that the game isn't deep, and dedicated players can get almost everything done in a day, but with pure arcade racing being gone for so long, you tend to forgive all of that when you're enjoying every moment.

A proudly anachronistic game that harkens back to a time when realism took a back seat to pure fun. One where content is measured based on variety and depth rather than breadth. A breath of fresh air that makes up for its shortcomings

Cruis’n Blast focuses on style over substance, making the end result feel a bit hollow. Navigating a careening ferris wheel is the stuff action movies are made of, but there’s just not enough content here to justify picking this home release up over sinking a few bucks into the arcade version.

There’s definitely still a place for games like Cruis’n Blast in today’s world, and I’m grateful to Nintendo for taking a bit of a risk on putting this one out there. It may not be to everyone’s taste — particularly given its lack of online modes and unabashedly quick-fire “arcade” format — but for those of us who have been in mourning for Bizarre Creations and Black Rock Studios for the past 11 years… well, it’s time to buckle up and have some fun once again.

There's no doubt that Cruis'n Blast is going to serve a relatively niche audience, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The sheer spectacle on display combined with vast opportunity for technical skill makes for an incredibly engaging arcade racing game that focuses on letting the player have pure, unfiltered fun. It's a shame that there isn't any form of online functionality to provide a little extra meaning to the experience, since that little extra motivation could've elevated Cruis'n Blast from a good game to a great game.

Cruis'n Blast presents an arcade racing formula that's exciting at first but quickly wears thin due to its lack of challenge or need for skill. That being said, it can still be enjoyable for a few rounds of old-school racing entertainment with friends.

Cruis'n Blast is a by-the-numbers racing game that is fun for an afternoon, but with little to offer to make it worth it to keep playing.

When it comes to over-the-top, crazy, and almost excessively arcade-style racing I'm not sure anything out there can quite match the classic Cruis'n series...

Cruis’n Blast is a fantastic explosion of arcade goodness. If you’re looking for an arcade racer that’s just about having fun and enjoying some good music then this is a must buy. It is also a great game to enjoy with up to four players locally, even for players not well versed in racing games. The entire time I was playing the game I had a huge smile on my face from the comfortable controls and the utterly absurd spectacle on display. Plus, this game has dinosaurs, which is always a win in my books. The game may be incredibly short but it’s highly replayable. Cruis’n Blast will not be leaving my Nintendo Switch anytime soon and hopefully, you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Overall, Cruis’n Blast is a fantastic spin on the classic Cruis’n arcade series. While it would be great to have online play and more complex race track layouts, the game has a great selection of wacky vehicles and is well made, easy to pick up and play, and full of low-stress fun. What are you waiting for – come on, go Cruis’n ♫♪!

If you have friends to play with regularly, Cruis’n Blast can provide light arcade-style thrills. With over-the-top courses, a catchy soundtrack, and simple gameplay, there’s fun to be had. There’s just not enough content to justify it for anyone else, though, especially when basic features expected of the genre are missing.

Cruis’n Blast is the curious case of a great game on the outside, but empty on the inside. The main gameplay is exhilarating, with fast races and responsive controls. The circuits, with their gigantic jumps, comically absurd situations and unexpected elements, make games fun. The vehicles, on the other hand, ranging from the simplest to the most fantastic, are hardly seen in other games of the genre. However, everything around this gameplay is shallow, making this a good comeback from the franchise, but not the best possible.

As I mentioned earlier, Cruis’n Blast is exactly what I want out of an arcade racer. It’s fun, it drives well, it’s over the top, and it’s arcade racing in its near-perfected form. The only way this could be better would be Raw Thrills shipping the arcade unit to dock your Switch in.
