The Gunk is a little hidden gem that, despite not feeling innovative or deep, is able to entertain and move the player.

Short as it may be, my time with The Gunk has been wonderful. Image & Form’s move into the 3D realm has solidified it as a truly talented developer – and this may just be its best game yet. Beautiful, satisfying and engaging from start to finish, The Gunk is definitely worth getting stuck into.

The Gunk is a great game to introduce children or newbies to the wonderful things gaming can offer. Combat in the game is by far its weakest element; the game feels more like a Captain Planet simulator where you clean up the planet for a beautiful tomorrow. The game’s graphics will pull you in and make you feel like you can make the world a better place. The audio will make you feel sad about how lifeless the world has become and as you revitalize it, make you feel like you are doing good. Overall, The Gunk was sadly too short for how beautiful it is. If you have free time and want to explore a new world, then The Gunk is worth trying out.

The Gunk is a game that does a decent job of offering ideas that other titles have explored in better ways. The gameplay is fun at first barely evolves. The story, especially the interactions between Becks and Rani, is decent but has nothing especially memorable to offer. The game has everything it needs for some cool cooperative play moments but does not offer those mechanics.

Image studio and Form have implemented an interesting and new idea by creating the game The Gunk, but the idea has not been able to show itself in the best possible.

‎The Gunk invites us to a world of science fiction, surrounded by adventure, exploration and platforming. It is a sincere game, without great pretensions, which only wants to show its art, world and sensations when playing it.‎

Meditative gameplay and some fine visuals are not enough to bring some significance to The Gunk.

There is nothing special or complicated about The Gunk, but it proves to be a relaxing and light adventure that focuses on the manual removal of a toxic substance and the abrupt return of nature.

The Gunk game can be considered a short adventure. Nothing more and nothing less. Don't expect anything special to happen during the game. However, the experience of this short title may bring some people some enjoyable moments.

The Gunk is an entertaining and beautiful experience in which you will find fun but it does not offer ideas or challenge that distinguishes it from other platform games or leaves a lasting impression after it is finished.

It doesn't hit the highs of the SteamWorld series, but The Gunk is enjoyable. When you break things down, the game doesn't offer up a plethora of things to do, but it remains enjoyable thanks to how satisfying it is to clean up gunk. There's payoff for the curious in the form of extra materials to power up your arm faster, and even though it is familiar, the story remains satisfying. Its short length makes it perfect for the Game Pass service, but it is also a worthy purchase if you like brisk, uncomplicated adventures.

The Gunk sports an interesting core mechanic and two likable heroines, but lacks the depth and complexity needed to make the game stand out.

The Gunk is an excellent relaxing game without any innovations, but it has a charming, comfortable pace and offers a satisfying cleaning feeling.

The Gunk is beautiful and ambitious, but unfortunately fails to live up to its potential. It's nice to clean up the gunk, solve basic puzzles, and explore visually interesting scenarios, but many of the mechanics are underutilized and ideas don't evolve beyond their initial state. At least the relaxing atmosphere, stunning backdrops and great voice acting make the experience immersive to some extent. In the end, The Gunk is reasonable, however it fails to stand out.

The Gunk provides a fun mystery in what’s a very easy going and guided journey, it’s rather short but at the same time a fine experience.

The Gunk is one of the games that offers visual prowess with little fun in playing it, it failed to employ gameplay elements that serves the properly built world, leaving a huge gap between the level of the graphic and the level of everything else. This game is one of those games that you can play for sure and you will also get excited and enjoy it some time, but it certainly is not the game that was marketed and we were waiting for at least.

The remaining feeling is that it offers a beautiful story, which keen you for an afternoon or (even better) in smaller doses. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Gunk is a decent adventure title that combines many elements platformer fans love from the genre. The decent combination of mystery, exploration, and collecting offers enough intrigue that you'll want to see how everything ends.
