Diablo Immortal Reviews
Diablo Immortal's monster slaying action is visceral and satisfying, and the game offers up a huge amount of gameplay for free. That said, its monetisation model and numerous restrictions sour the end game experience, and leave plenty of room for improvement.
I was looking for a substantial Diablo experience to play on my phone with Immortal, and it often reaches that bar. While I don’t see myself going deep into the endgame unless Blizzard resolves the issues with legendary gems, I still plan to spend hours in Diablo Immortal, leveling a character in every class and playing until my hands ache.
Diablo Immortal is a surprisingly premium-feeling adventure in the series that hits all the right notes, even if its endgame starts to depend on microtransactions too heavily.
Diablo Immortal has solid core gameplay, dragged down by incessant and confusing free-to-play nonsense.
Diablo Immortal offers a fun Diablo-style experience, but is hampered by in-game purchases with real money.

Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.

The hack, slash, and loot world of Diablo is brilliantly re-engineered for a small screen but the fun, initial progression is offset by a grinding endgame and/or eye-wateringly costly microtransactions.
Slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy them a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled.
On the whole, Diablo Immortal is a clearly approved game, but we can't help but wonder why it doesn't exist for the Mac and why Blizzard isn't more clear about the system requirements.

Despite the noticeable issues and difficulty with maxing out characters, Diablo Immortal is still enjoyable and offers a lot of options for gear and XP grinding. Dungeons, events, PvP fights, hidden lairs, and other activities make this new title fun and interesting for casual players that aren't focused on the competitive side of the game. Of course, the major downside is that those who want to compete and create a top build will almost assuredly need to pour a lot of money and time into strengthening their characters. Diablo Immortal can still be fun, but there are some undeniable flaws that hurt the experience.
I wanted to like this game a lot more than I did. It feels great to go ripping around dank little dungeons, snagging loot and slaying demons. I love the visuals and the sound design, I love the fast-paced combat. Hell, I even love level grinding! But the game is crammed to the rafters with predatory In-App Purchases. Blizzard wants to squeeze you dry, and they’re not shy about it, either. The endgame makes it clear that players are being treated like cash cows, livestock with active credit cards. The first half of Diablo Immortal is a competent, compelling action RPG. But under no circumstances should you touch the endgame.
Trust me when I say I really want to love Diablo Immortal more than this, but morally I struggle to recommend this game. Suffocated by microtransactions that bleed players dry, the latest chapter in the Diablo saga feels like a pay-to-win gacha game that’s meant to tide us over until Diablo 4. While longtime fans of the franchise will be lured in by the story and spectacular universe, the cost of saving Sanctuary is simply too much to pay (as we’re sure your accountant will confirm). I walk away from Immortal disappointed and angry, hoping and praying to the High Heavens that Blizzard do something to bring it back from the brink.
I had such excitement for Diablo: Immortal through development, and the game itself is a solid experience and well worth the time. I'm not sure how well it will hold up over the long term as an MMO, but it's a good effort, and if I could just score that alone, it would be a 9. However, the monetization is very player unfriendly currently. Rather than getting out of the way and letting players enjoy the game and then spend money because they want to support a game they love, we are consistently being leveraged into feeling like we have to spend an indeterminate amount of money just to have a chance. Heck, you might have to shell out money just to make a clan to play with your friends. This isn't the worst monetization I have seen, but it's still a far cry from good.
It is undeniable that the monetization system of Diablo Immortal has problems and makes the most advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but this does not mean that the Blizzard title has brought to the mobile market one of the best experiences in the action RPG field, and it is really difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values.

Diablo Immortal has a solid and fun foundation, but fails because of the forced grind and its P2W systems.

Diablo Immortal is an excellent mobile spin on Blizzard's classic, dungeon-crawling action, but the game's grind means that you may need to stick with it for the long haul to fully appreciate the experience.
Diablo Immortal is an absolutely stunning experience, even on mobile. The game is really easy to pick up, even for people new to the Diablo series. Gameplay is smooth and impactful and the voiceover work is top tier. Aside from hating the 'grind', this is my new favorite MMO experience!
Diablo Immortal blends classic gameplay with the free-to-play formula, and almost delivers a complete knockout mobile experience.
Diablo Immortal is as engaging as any Diablo, but only initially. You sure can have fun here, and I myself became engrossed in this world, trying to discover as much of it as possible – I was just curious what kind of a game it was. Unfortunately, with the current shape of its in-game economy, Immortal turns out to be an uncomfortable money-grab effort more than anything else.

Diablo Immortal is a sham. It's seemingly spectacular, only to reveal an ugly showcase of shameless greed, terrible design decisions, horrific porting, and boring combat. Just play Diablo 3 - or any of the other great action RPGs currently available - and forget this even exists.
