If you’re a massive Kirby fan, this is for you. If you’ve got a passing interest, wait for a sale. It’s not that this is bad, or unpolished… it’s just another repacked game with a value proposition that lacks.
Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe doesn’t redefine the series like Kirby & the Forgotten World, but it’s a welcome addition to the Switch library. This feast of content for players of all stripes continues the pink puffball’s reign as Nintendo’s King of Co-Op.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe only improves on the original. It's great to be able to play as Magolor in the new epilogue, which changes up the platforming gameplay simply but effectively. There's even more fun to be had playing subgames in Merry Magoland with your friends. If you're playing solo, there might not be as much to keep your attention, but it will still be a short and sweet adventure.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a quintessential package for newcomers to the franchise. A fantastically realized set of Copy Abilities, swathes of worthwhile content, a great new epilogue, and gorgeously enhanced new visuals make for a timeless experience that's only hindered by a noticeable lack of difficulty.
Despite the gameplay tweaks, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe feels more like a prettier Kirby-copy than a complete remake.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a charming remaster for the Nintendo Switch that puts a happy smile on anyone with its colourful visuals and cutesy presentation.
Return to Dream Land or spend your time playing minigames... either way Kirby and pals are your ticket to fun!
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a delicious platformer that does nothing at all to reinvent the wheel, but it works and gives an immediately fun experience.

As a follow-up to the highly successful Forgotten Land, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe may tread on old ground, but it does so with confidence and colour aplenty.
For most players though, it’s the main meat of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe – the platforming adventure – that will draw them in. It might not be the most revolutionary game – after all, the original is 12 years old – but it’s a charming platformer that’s as joyous as it always has been. And with the addition of Merry Magoland, this is a sizeable package with essentially endless replayability.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a comprehensive update to a classic casual platformer.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a great port of a great Kirby game. Keeping the magic of the original alive with a fresh coat of paint and meaningful new content, it's a game I can recommend to any lover of Kirby, platforming, or a good couch co-op experience.
Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe is another feel-good hit that has a lot of variety in a very lean package. It looks and sounds excellent, and offers many amusing side modes to partake in with young gamers who are learning how to play. You may not get all the bang for your buck, but if you are still hungry for some more breezy action after The Forgotten Land, then this will give you what you need.
If you played it on the Wii, you might not see much in this version to justify the $60, but if you missed it like I did, this is definitely the best way to experience an original Kirby game.

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe is a welcome remaster of one Kirby’s better adventures and makes some smart additions to make the whole package more enjoyable. Letting everyone play as Kirby and use his copy abilities is fun and the addition of the new Magolor modes helps to bring some different gameplay to the mix.
I played Kirby's Return to Dream Land on Wii at launch and over the years, it's never been a high-ranking game on my personal list of Kirby games. After playing through it on Switch, that's changed, though partially because of the smart updates and changes made in the new version. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is the best 2D Kirby I've ever played, combining a lot of the side-scrolling entries' best elements into a heck of a total package that works as both a single-player adventure and a delightful co-op journey.
Much like the original Wii release, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is an excellent Kirby adventure, packed full of heart, classic gameplay and dipped in a delicious HD upgrade. Throw in bonus modes, collectable content, and backstory for a truly definitive platforming experience. It's unfortunate that there's no online co-op play, but both single and local couch-play are an absolute joy from the opening title.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe turns a solid Wii platformer into a slightly better Nintendo Switch title. The extra copy abilities are fun to use, and Magolor's Epilogue is a good way to wrap up the story. However, the lack of challenge in the campaign is difficult to look past.
