Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is essential gaming to those that adore the Final Fantasy series. Whether you’re a fan of it’s seventh chapter, an admirer of the PlayStation Portable iteration or just wanting to experience a new form of role-playing mastery, this is one of the best action titles to release this fall. Without a doubt, a revisit to Midgar that will leave you with questions that will hopefully be resolved in Rebirth – for fans of the alternate multiverse – or for those that love the original timeline but have yet to play this absolute classic.

Even if you somehow have access to a PSP in the year of our lord 2022, you might as well spend the extra money on this remaster as it makes the original version pretty obsolete.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a nostalgia-fueled balancing act of mechanics that worked and flawed creative choices. Despite some annoyances, the odds tipped in favor of a fun return to this prequel to a beloved franchise. Nostalgia wins, in the end, to provide a bittersweet homecoming with familiar characters and an improved combat and crafting system to match modern sensibilities.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion is not only a perfect example of what a remaster should be but also the perfect way to play this classic game. Plus, it being available on so many platforms makes it the most approachable way for anyone who wants to experience this nonsensically beautiful mess. While it not a perfect game, I have been reminded why Crisis Core holds a special place in my heart. This is a special story that’s growing in new ways, and being able to experience it all again with almost remake-level updates to almost every aspect of the game while keeping its heart and soul the same is something truly special.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is a splendid remaster of a classic PSP game, that feels and looks like a modern-day video game. It’s combat brings some much needed quality of life improvements, and the visuals, outside of the video formatted cutscenes, are pretty top notched for a remaster that could have taken the easy way of just given us a resolution and frame-rate bump. There are some places I do wish were changed, but as far as staying faithful, Crisis Core does just that, and I can’t help but appreciate it even more than I did back then, as it certainly is a title that has aged surprisingly well. If you’re new to the world of Final Fantasy 7, then Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is the perfect place to start your journey.

The game in its core is short and simple, with a massive amount of side content that isn’t very inviting to complete, but the effort put in the remastered version managed to make it a good addition to the series.

FFVII Reunion is a satisfactory for both who have played the original PSP version or those who have not. From Improved visuals to combat system, the game is ready to entertain your both eyes and hands. Pretty sure it will be the most satisfying year-end gift for FFVII Remake fans.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a masterful remaster of a little more than adequate game. Not a bad game, in fact it is still a decent action RPG that will keep you entertained for about 20-30 hours of play. However, in terms of substance and narrative responsibility it leaves much to be desired.

I have mixed feelings about Crisis Core Reunion. To the die-hard Final Fantasy fan who has yet to experience it or someone whose favorite game of all time was the original Crisis Core, I recommend it. But if you’re just looking to learn the story that came before FF7, you might want to look to Youtube instead.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a much superior version, especially in audiovisual aspects, and its artistic and musical style is in tune with the Final Fantasy VII remake. On the other hand, the gameplay deserved a deeper overhaul, as well as more content. Despite having little appeal on its own, the game is recommended to fans of Final Fantasy VII, as it adds weight to its narrative experience.

Ultimately, CRISIS CORE REUNION is a great game. It lands the story beats, and the combat feels good. Fans of the original experience on the PSP will find themselves right at home here and new players will have a good time, especially if they like Final Fantasy VII as a whole.

A great remaster that improves everything, leaving nary a reason to go back. Some of the ancient PSP dust does show up due to an outdated skeleton and presentation. The story and characters are still great in my eyes and even holds a firm candle to FINAL FANTASY VII Remake. I’m grateful for this Reunion and cherished my time with it as I did the original.

As a remaster, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy Reunion is a fan's dream come true. It has highly refined visuals, enhanced gameplay, and some quality-of-life improvements, but it suffers from antiquated gameplay design.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a hammy prequel but one that includes better combat and performances. Despite the dated issues, Crisis Core is enjoyable and important to the lore.

Square Enix and Tose have done a phenomenal job bringing Zack’s origin story to life again after being buried away for so long. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is everything fans want and expect it to be, with rehauled graphics, improved gameplay mechanics, a new arranged soundtrack, and fully voiced dialogue. If you somehow missed your chance to play this back on the PlayStation Portable back in 2007, then this is the definitive way to experience one of the best prequel stories. It feels like a nostalgic dream to be able to step into the shoes of Zack Fair once again, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

I enjoyed my time with the game but felt like I walked away with very little to chew on. The work done to bring this game to life is tremendous. Reworked music, visuals, and combat make it the definitive way to experience Crisis Core. Do you need to experience Crisis Core? Your mileage may vary.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy 7- Reunion is an easy game to remember. The original version is one of the great milestones of square enix's golden age and the new one promises to appear with the same status in this new golden age of the Japanese company. More than a remaster, but with elements coming directly from the original that prevent it from becoming a remake, Crisis Core -Final Fantasy 7- Reunion is a glorious attest to the capabilities of this Japanese house.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion still has its place in the hearts of many veterans of the series and Final Fantasy 7's world, and maintains its relevance to the FF7 Remake series. However, the original Crisis Core also received a lot of justified criticism, and Reunion doesn't do much to address those points.

For fans of the OG PSP game, Crisis Core Reunion is a fantastic remaster, seeing how meticulously a game can be updated with enough budget behind it. For fans of Final Fantasy VII on PS1, this is an opportunity to play the best game in the original Compilation (no offence to Dirge of Cerberus) on modern consoles. Its many changes and additions help bring these PSP mechanics closer to modern standards and the game is better off for it. For fans of Remake keen to understand more of this world and characters, Crisis Core is a great amuse-bouche before Rebirth launches next year.
