Beautiful visuals can’t do much when “Atlas Fallen” combat, story and encounter design is so shallow. It could’ve been an amazing game if its scope was more limited. As of now, it just stands as another “open world” game that was released in 2023.

Atlas Fallen is a more than pleasant surprise and one of the RPGs to take into account this year. With an average duration of 15-20 hours in its main story, it offers us a wide variety of environments and enemies with a very successful setting. Although the visual aspect is not AAA, it is more than enough to offer us a most enjoyable experience during the course of our adventure. We recommend it to all those action RPG fans who have been orphaned after finishing Final Fantasy XVI and want to enjoy a more modest adventure, but with an interesting story.

Atlas Fallen is a good action RPG that makes its combat system its strong point. Around that workhorse, however, the rest fails to shine adequately, preventing Deck13's title from aspiring to much better stages. There is little to complain about, however: Atlas Fallen is in fact at the end of the day a good game, which will keep you entertained for about ten hours or so.

As a fan of action games, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun with Atlas Fallen. Though it's not revolutionary in any way, the new work by Deck13 is yet another competent release in 2023. Being the gauntlet wielder doesn't come without its issues, but defeating sandy monsters while surfing in a post-apocalyptic desert is way too thrilling to be ignored.

It's not a deep experience and many might leave unsatisfied by its sluggish pacing, dialogue and story. Atlas Fallen is an easy recommend on sale but for now, 2023 has a lot more to offer.

Atlas Fallen strikes a sweet spot in bringing just enough to the table that you get a satisfying campaign, but a resolve that can feel empty. While the focus relies on its expeditious campaign, rapid pacing, eccentric features and embellished plot, it lacks tremendously in story and heart.

Atlas Fallen toys with some clever ideas and comes close to making a breakthrough on a few of them, but between its dull story, characters, world, and frustrating, unbalanced combat, the game just can’t achieve its true potential. The full campaign co-op seperates it from other titles and can alleviate some of the frustrations but the good elements just take too long to get rolling and aren’t quite interesting enough to help you stick around.

Atlas Fallen is an amazing adventure to be tackled, either solo or with a friend, turning the tide of battle and fighting back against the monsters of the land and becoming more powerful with each victory. Honestly, there are not many negatives I can think of with Atlas Fallen. It has been another great release during a great year for games. I have loved every second I have spent exploring the world and all the fights I have encountered. If you are looking for a great action adventure RPG to play, this is highly worth checking out.

In this big open world there is plenty to see, do and experience. Atlas Fallen is full of puzzles and treasures. You can play the game alone or with a friend. The navigation works very organically and if you pick up the game again after a long break, you can find a short and concise tutorial list in your journal. This way you can quickly pick up the adventure without too much hassle. As far as we’re concerned, this game is easy to recommend.

At the end of the day, Atlas Fallen is certainly a worthwhile open-world action RPG to consider for your next adventure. Its world and creatures are mostly a delight, and the co-op potential is there for friends to have a great time. Just don’t look closely at either the story or the visuals, and you will have a good time.

If you’re looking for an RPG with a solid exploration and fighting system, Atlas Fallen is a good option. You might be let down by the game’s plot if that’s your main motivation for playing. If you don’t care about the story and just want to explore the world and build a wide variety of characters, this game is fantastic. Especially with Co-op, I believe it would be fun to just run around in this environment and wreck and blow stuff up with a friend. The map is fairly large, with several explorable zones and an additional, optional zone off to the side. In the end, Atlas Fallen is fun; it doesn’t exactly break new ground, but it has enough to entertain you.

"Atlas Fallen" reaches for the stars and manages to stand on its own in a crowded genre with its ambitious story scenes and gripping combat.

I commend Deck13 for taking the risk of creating a new IP and wanting to make something new and unique. They have definitely achieved some of it with the combat system and the sand traversal mechanics. But that’s about it. The lore and narrative are a bit all over the place, the engine and the tech is outdated and the inconsistent voice acting doesn’t help either.

With Atlas Fallen, Deck 13 fearlessly enters a completely new competitive situation, provides a fundamental synergy thanks to coherent game elements, which ultimately creates a recognition value that can justify the entire project. The clear focus on the offensive brings an action-heavy, sometimes motivating battle to light, which never frustrates despite its performance-driven orientation, but instead benefits from its simplicity and the trivial, tactical component. As well thought-out and coherent as the combat system initially appears, the action role-playing game is short-lived in its entirety. Atlas Fallen ultimately fails primarily due to its long-term motivation: both the narrative, thanks to its staging omissions and its emotional superficiality, as well as the redundant, even lifeless game world seem like foreign bodies, squander enormous potential and make sure that you have to find yourself in the genre mediocrity - which can definitely get lost in this year's high-quality release clutter.

When you break it down, there is nothing in Atlas Fallen we haven’t seen before. Everything it does, someone else has done in another game. That being said, what Deck 13 have done is bring these elements together into a rollicking adventure that hits all the right notes for action fans, tells an engaging (if cliched) story and never outstays its welcome.

Atlas Fallen is excellent fun in co-op, but its action never matches its stellar movement and ideas.

Atlas Fallen isn’t the best hack-and-slasher you’ll play, but the enjoyable combat mechanics and fun co-op ensure it still delivers an entertaining escapade. Players will definitely have fun bashing up enemies with their slick and diverse combat capabilities, whilst the world can be intriguing to explore (even if some of its activities can be a little dull in design). And surfing through the sand with my powers? I loved it. It just lacks the consistency to stand out as a great of the genre. The story is a little bland, the visuals don’t always shine, there are a few little issues with the camera and controls, whilst there’s not much here that you wouldn’t have seen before elsewhere. These problems don’t make Atlas Fallen a bad game by any means, but they are the difference between it being a game that’s fun to play and one that you HAVE to play.

A courageous but flawed endeavor. Its enchanting desert landscape promises an epic adventure but often fails to deliver on that grandeur.

Atlas Fallen’s momentum focused combat makes this open world action RPG shine like a gem in the desert but poor writing and acting tarnish its quality.

Atlas Fallen is a great game and a really good co-op experience. It goes for something different and honestly, the story is good, the worlds are fantastic but the combat is Monster Hunter on speed levels of awesome.
