Overall, Jusant is a wonderful experience and a climb well worth starting if you’re looking for a short but engaging adventure. Unlike many games in this genre, Jusant’s traversal of the environment feels unique. Its climbing mechanics are so engaging I had just as much fun exploring the world and taking in the experience as feeling the need to seek out collectables. This is DON’T NOD bringing their A game. Successfully conveying an emotional story by saying very little. When I finally reached the top of the mountain, I was not disappointed, and hopefully, you won’t be either.

Jusant is a very unassuming and cute ecology-themed game with simple mechanics and a non-trivial plot. If it weren't for the self-repeaters and bugs, it would be much more enjoyable.

Jusant is an enthralling, enrapturing, calming game that feels akin to meditation. Its simple gameplay and open-ended story, along with some truly stunning visuals create an experience that is like nothing else I’ve played this year. The journey to the heavens is nearly perfect and you should take it.

Jusant is one of those titles to be played at your own pace, while enjoying its landscapes and enjoying every moment of its characters' journey. More than a game of climbing, Jusant is a work of friendship and awareness, set through an adventure through a desolate world full of stories to tell.

Climbing to the peak in Jusant may sound like a boring gameplay loop, but for those looking for a meditative and genuinely enjoyable experience, it's anything but.

If there is any criticism to be made of Jusant, it's that developer Don't Nod – no stranger to over-egging the narrative pudding at times – couldn't hold its tongue, filling the beautifully spartan climb with diaries, logs, and otherwise unnecessary lore. But the game's focus on its core climbing mechanics, and some of the finest art direction we've yet seen, still make this an essential journey.

Despite its flaws, Jusant is a decent production that not only brings a lot of fun, but also takes your breath away with its audio-visual side. It's an amazing adventure for 2-3 hours, which I will certainly return to more than once. If you are looking for something different, more subdued, but bringing an amazing experience for winter evenings, then Jusant is for you.

Seeing Jusant to the end felt like returning from a brisk walk in the woods, your lungs full of fresh air, and your mind alert from a cool breeze – which is an astute achievement for a game with such deep connections to the natural environment, and the act of physical human movement. You come away feeling sated, satisfied, and refreshed, the sense of achievement and clarity of thought it offers clearing your headspace for whatever challenge comes next.

While Don’t Nod is no stranger to titles that focus more on exploration and emotional pull, they rarely do so with such Annapurna levels of “indie”. Yet that is exactly what Jusant is: a silent, emotional, walking sim where the true puzzles are collecting all the remnants of the civilization that has been lost, and the mystery of what exactly happened. In this, Jusant is as beautifully presented and told as any before it, but I just couldn’t escape the feeling that I have already played this game, five other times, every year.

For as satisfying as Jusant’s core gameplay loop can be, its narrative and important message becomes lost in the background of a world's history which I otherwise wanted to be entranced by, beyond just its striking visuals.

Even if I tried hard not to recommend this game, I don't think I would find them. Jusant is an ideal game to relax, have fun and enjoy a really pleasant and fun experience that manages to hook and captivate you from the first moment.

Overall, it’s a delightful, charming adventure game that does one thing very, very well — and that’s worth just as much, if not more to me than a game that tries to do everything with middling results.

Justant is where ideas looks good on paper, but when it comes to execution, they somewhat disappoint. It has some sporadic interesting moments but those aside, Jusant is struggling with many issues regarding level design and platforming mechanisms.
