The Invincible Reviews
The Invincible is a video game that will delight lovers of science fiction and narrative adventures, offering a gaming experience rich in emotions and moments of reflection. The title is a homage to Lem's novel, but also an original and innovative work that tests our humanity in a retro-futuristic sci-fi context.

I desperately wanted to enjoy The Invincible more than I did. Unfortunately, it never grabbed me the way I expected. Yes, it is beautiful, and the audio was fantastic. Furthermore, I adore the protagonist and her plight. However, its gameplay is distinctly mixed and this was unfortunate. Yet, despite my disappointment, it is unique and unusual, and I recommend giving it a chance by buying it here! Can you piece together the mystery? Explore your surroundings, solve the puzzles, and discover a strange alien world.
Still, when we combine plot and flow, The Invincible is a game worth giving a chance. Invincible is a sci-fi adventure blended with science and philosophy, offering players a calm and in-depth experience. The game's rich storyline, extensive graphics, and atmospheric world will draw us in for long periods of time, promising a special experience for sci-fi and adventure enthusiasts.

The Invincible is fantastic, but it’s still little more than a story. As a game, it pushes the idea of a novel into a new realm, bringing it to life around you for those who might not have the imagination to make that happen while they read. I love that it sets the baseline for how good basic narrative-driven games need to be moving forward, but I wanted more from it. I wanted a few more mechanics, maybe some extra opportunities for exploration and collectibles, and to feel like I had a bit more onus on the events I played through. The Invincible comes so close to hitting the ethereal idea of truly ascended movie and novel narrative experiences and is very much worth playing, but there’s room for improvement.
While it may not be for everyone, The Invincible is nonetheless a brilliant sci-fi journey that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The Invincible is that simple game, released in a period (and year) of several AAA games that takes the player on a very pleasant experience both for their pockets and for those looking to take a break from blockbuster releases. The Invincible isn't for everyone, but everyone should try it.

The Invincible offers a fantastic sci-fi story full of dramatic twists and interesting characters, but the gameplay is just nothing to write home about.

The Invincible is not for everyone. You simply have to like the quiet narrative style, the setting and the lack of real gameplay to appreciate the enjoyment behind it. But if you can take your time and are not opposed to retro sci-fi and walking simulators, you will get an incredibly beautifully crafted world with great voice actors and probably the best playable adaptation of a book in a long time.

When I started The Invincible and saw the title screen with the note that the game is based on Stanislaw Lem’s iconic novel, I knew I was in for something unique. I was not disappointed. The Invincible is easily one of the best sci-fi games I’ve played in recent years. It’s engaging, thought-provoking, and beautiful. It’s the type of game that makes you take note of the studio enough to consider preordering their next game sight unseen.
While the hard sci-fi story is consistently interesting, the slow pace of The Invincible may be frustrating for some.
Overall, The Invincible likely isn’t going to be a late contender for GOTY 2023, but there is serious value in playing through it. This game is certainly far more worth the $30 price tag than something like Stray Souls. Also, if you are looking for a break from the constant fast pace of something like Spider-Man 2, then The Invincible may just be exactly what you are after.
The Invincible lacks imagination in its gameplay, which is pretty much walking in a straight line, and fails to capture any potentially interesting mechanics. However, The Invincible‘s compelling narrative, strong themes, and great characters make this an experience well worth playing. If you are a fan of science fiction, this is a must-play, assuming you can get past the lacklustre gameplay.
The Invincible is an excellent sci-fi adventure game telling a fresh and intriguing story while still faithful to the novel. A slow burn and ambiguous narrative makes exploring the on-rails environment a delight. Speaking of, the environment and setting look fantastic and are complimented by the great score and the sound effects & voice acting. The multiple trophies and achievements are a good excuse to revisit the game not you will need an excuse.
The Invincible is a very atmospheric game that offers a unique gaming experience and is a must-play for Sci-Fi fans and those who like more story than game.
In a year with some absolute juggernauts contending for Game of the Year, it would be a shame to miss out on The Invincible.
As a walking simulator, what The Invincible lacks in gameplay it more than makes up for in its audio and visual design and an utterly captivating storyline that perfectly balances between the wonders of space and its most horrifying possibilities.
“The Invincible” really is a mixed bag, and it might not be your cup of tea if you’re looking for something with a bit more action and interaction.
Perhaps best described as Firewatch in Space, The Invincible is a narrative game that weaves a compelling mystery, but not compelling gameplay. The slow-burn story takes a little while to get going and the ending leaves something to be desired, but everything in the middle tells a thoughtful, traditional sci-fi story of people, evolution and what mysteries we might find in the universe should we ever be able to travel through the void of space. I’d recommend this one only to the more die-hard walking sim and sci-fi fans who have the patience needed to fully enjoy The Invincible’s narrative.
The Invincible is a great game that more people should play. The storytelling delves into the philosophical at numerous points and it’s a game that will stay with you for a long time to come. It may be a bit frustrating to deal with the slow movement and the lack of actual fast-paced action gameplay but if you’re into slow-burn storytelling, this game will appeal to you.
The Invincible plays much like I would imagine the book feels. Its heady exploration of evolution, adaptation, and the nature of life wraps around the video game shell. The game drags on just a little too long. Ultimately, the game part of the equation just doesn’t do enough to make the experience fun to play. The ideas presented while compelling, fall apart in multiple of the game’s endings leaving me feeling baffled at some of the design decisions made. The Invincible feels like a palette cleanser of a game. It attempts to be literature in a marketplace surrounded by bombast. Somewhere along the line though, Starward Industries lost sight of the fact that interacting with the world has to be engaging and not just a canvas upon which to paint a story.
