Persona 5 Tactica crafts an engaging personal narrative but falters in conveying its themes and delivering satisfying turn-based tactical combat.

In summary, Persona 5 Tactica offers a great story with engaging factors, vibrant colors, dynamic art styles, new characters, and music. It masters a compelling story while also presenting older and nostalgic characteristics of Persona 5. With a fresh new coat of paint, Persona 5 Tactica is worth it to suit up as a Phantom Thief and liberate the worlds of the Metaverse.

Persona 5 Tactica is a wonderful take on isometric turn-based tactical games like XCOM, that is good enough to satiate Persona fans, and maybe even win over a few XCOM fans at the same time.

Highly stylised and easy enough to understand, though complex and demanding as all hell.

Persona 5 Tactica, while trying some new things in the series ultimately falls flat. With a bland story and mediocre gameplay, I think its time we leave Joker and the gang alone.

It certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel, but offers a more than competent tactics experience within a framework that's sure to please any Persona fan.

Persona 5 Tactica is another successful voyage for the Phantom Thieves. Little is better than the warm feeling inside of revisiting this cast of characters I've come to know so fondly and intimately in a new, but familiar style. There are small ways Atlus could've made this a more blown-out affair, but it's never too much of a bother when the game is this solid and satisfying to play.

Despite being an enjoyable SRPG suitable for all age groups, thanks to five levels of difficulty and a challenge rate that is never really prohibitive even at the highest ones, Persona 5 Tactica is, on balance, the least brilliant product among those generated by the fame of the franchise and the talent of the minds within Atlus.

Persona 5's toe-tapping tunes and infectious energy are present, but Tactica forgets to bring fresh ideas or variety.

The popping new art style thrives in its zoomed-out perspective, and the soundtrack continues the series’ tradition of infectious songs. However, be prepared for nothing but intricate turn-based skirmishes. While the scenarios, mechanics, and maps excel as far as strategy RPGs go, it’s hard to ignore the lack of variety, creating a constant state of strategic pressure with little room to breathe.

Persona 5 Tactica is a game that offers tricky battles, an intriguing story and the comeback of beloved characters, which makes it a must-have for any Persona 5 fans. While there is a lack of exploration and some of the dialogue can become tedious, it is fundamentally a beautiful little title that is well worth playing.

Persona 5's winning streak continues. Tactica is a Phantom Thieves story that, while narrowly missing perfection, is definitely worth playing.

Persona 5 Tactica is a great excuse to walk back into the world of Persona, and while it's not the deepest or most challenging tactical RPG out there, it's still a respectable game and a great addition to the Persona series.

Persona 5 Tactica is an excellent addition to the overall Persona 5 property. What at first looks like a cheerfully whimsical bonus spinoff ends up being something that adds to the core themes of the base game, and is impressive in the way it does that. It also backs up with some of the sharpest “fast tactics” play we’ve seen in the genre. I just wish the concept and theme were written better, and I honestly never thought I would say that of a Persona title.

Persona 5 Tactica is just as stylish and fun as any of the main series. While it does hit the same beats as other stories in the franchise, it's still a great time if you give it a try.

Persona 5 Tactica fulfills many expectations like strong plot, sharp writing, interesting new characters and satisfying tactical combat with Personas at hand. Very solid entry into the series with more gameplay mechanics as you initially expected.

I never got into Mario + Rabbids despite multiple attempts, mostly due to the Rabbids, but throwing characters I care about into this formula worked really well for me. Persona 5 Tactica is certainly the most replayable Persona game in years for someone who doesn't try to see every romance option, and if Atlus can get out from the crunch for Persona 3 Reload to fix up the load times this could be a sleeper for best strategy game on Switch.

Persona 5 Tactica is a spin-off that delivers without more. It's entertaining and fans of Persona 5 will be happy to spend a few more hours with the Phantom Thieves. Unfortunately, it lacks the impact needed to be one of those side projects that become an arm of the main franchise. Nor does it carry enough weight to become one of the best games of its genre. It is simply an entertaining title and little more.

Persona 5 Tactica felt mostly like a fun filler episode, it provided a simple gameplay that lacked depth or innovation and a story that felt too safe to make it reach the peak Persona 5 Strikers achieved as a spin-off title to Persona 5

Persona 5 Tactica is another very solid and self-assured spin-off for Atlus' stellar RPG franchise. Placing the Phantom Thieves in tactical turn-based battles works a treat here, with addictive and challenging strategy complimented by a slick sense of style, strong writing and a campaign narrative that will keep fans happy. Whether you're here for Persona specifically or you're just wanting a solid slice of tactical action to dig into, this one has got you well and truly covered.
