Children of the Sun Reviews
Children of the Sun is a great title, but it can be frustrating sometimes.
Children of the Sun is like a summer Saturday in April. Short, powerful and nice to experience in between. For anyone who likes puzzle games and wants something new, this is an excellent game to at least try.

Children of the Sun is a great title to play during a weekend evening and at the same time a creative puzzle game that combines familiar concepts in its own style and does it particularly well. If you're looking for something fast with good gameplay and a game that's very easy to max out then you've come to the right place and should definitely take it for a spin.

Children of the Sun is a game that is not only bizarre but also highly exciting; it is one of the more unusual games that I have played in recent times. A brief yet charming puzzle shooter that draws inspiration from Killer7, Mandy, and Sniper Elite. You'll have to play (and restart) a bunch of levels until you figure out the best path to take to defeat all of the enemies and top the scoreboard.
With an innovative approach to gameplay and a striking aesthetic, it's easy to see "Children of the Sun" becoming a cult classic in its own right.
Children of the Sun is a fantastic experience that blends together time-bending shooting with clever puzzling mechanics in a uniquely creative fashion. Plotting out my kills across each level was always satisfying, whilst the introduction of new mechanics and enemy types as I progressed ensured that the experience never seemed to run out of ideas. It is a bit on the short side and it’s a shame there aren’t any unlockables to incentivise score-chasing, but these issues don’t stop Children of the Sun from being one of the more unique and exciting shooters that I’ve played in a long time.
A tactical puzzle shooter imbued with the aesthetics of destruction. While It presents a new form of shooting accompanied by intense artwork, it's somewhat disappointing that the overall gameplay only lasts 3–4 hours. Apart from the leaderboard system, there's a need for additional incentives to engage players in repetitive gameplay.

Children of the Sun is a unique experience. It may be a little derivative of other games, but it doesn't change the fact that the game has its own identity, full of personality by simplifying its gameplay and focusing on the variety of situations in which it can be used, masterfully sustaining the interest of the player. It's a shame that the short duration ends up somewhat undermining the impact of this stylish paranormal thriller full of occultism and paranoia.

Children of the Sun is one of my favorite games this year. It makes you feel like a badass as you guide the bullet as it soars through each level.
If you’re fan of snappy, unique puzzle gameplay and short time commitments, Children of the Sun is going to absolutely be your jam. By consistently introducing new gameplay twists and building on its complexity, it creates an addictive gameplay loop where each stage asks the player to do a new kind of problem-solving and utilize the tools they’ve unlocked in a different way. Your mileage may vary depending on how much you enjoy trial and error, and the game could certainly have kept the ball rolling for longer than it does, but Children of the Sun remains a highly unique experience that’s well worth your time.
A stunning visual feast for the eyes that managed to create a fun and challenging set of gameplay rules that carried me through to the end in a few days.
Children of the Sun is a truly unique game worth experiencing that had me hooked for its entire runtime. An engaging puzzle-centric design mixed with an addictive gameplay loop and extremely high replay value. If you are looking for something a little bit weird, then this is the game for you.
CHILDREN OF THE SUN is a brutal revenge story wrapped in a neon-hued package of chaos and self-imposed challenge, curving bullets through the air to take out enemy after enemy in one deadly arc. This indie first-person puzzle-shooter left me conflicted, I both wanted more whilst also being pretty happy that it was over. Whether or not the broad strokes of vibrant violence and a jarring chaotic soundtrack is for you, well I'll let you decide, but I can guarantee there are some players out there who will return time and time again to take their revenge.
Children of the Sun doesn’t have barriers to progressing, as you can either brute force or cleverly solve any given level. Where it succeeds is giving you the power to find your own solution, as there are many. Being able to destroy a cult completely is a more than enough motivation. As you unlock new powers and begin to execute them with calculated precision is unmatched. The leaderboards are a great way to incentivize competition among friends and strangers. Children of the Sun is such a pleasure to play, whether you’ve got 10 minutes or several hours.
The art style is seemingly minimalistic but that's what makes it shine. Even the music really sets the mood for your assassination. I'm honestly impressed that all this was done by a solo developer. [...] Unlike a shot in the dark, Children of the Sun is a banging good time that stimulates your puzzle senses while delivering its premise with precision.
Children of the Sun is an inventive puzzle shooter that knows how to constantly reinvent its core mechanic, while not stretching its idea too thin. It has the odd rough edge, but it's easily one of Devolver Digital's better experiences.
Becoming a bullet and strategically eliminating targets across the map is a blast in Children of the Sun. The levels are challenging and dynamic, and will surely entice players to keep improving their scores. It's a shame that the story isn't anywhere near as good, but it doesn't take away from the addictive puzzle-shooting action.
While it can be repetitive at times, Children of the Sun promises a thrilling and unique gaming experience for those seeking intense action and strategic gameplay.
If a dark revenge fantasy tale of destroying an evil cult sounds like your kind of thing, then Children of the Sun is everything you could want.
"Children of the Sun" is a clever puzzle shooter with unique game mechanics. Controlling the bullets you fire is a lot of fun. Scoring headshots is bloody and satisfying. I'm motivated to find the perfect path through the levels, even though some of the larger game environments can feel exhausting. The audiovisual presentation delivers a surreal and disturbing atmosphere. Despite the low purchase price, the game is a little too short at just around three hours of playtime.
