Dragon Age: The Veilguard Reviews
The game may stumble occasionally in its technical aspects, but its core—compelling storytelling, rich character relationships, and engaging combat—makes it an easy recommendation for not just BioWare fans, but any RPG fan.
“Dragon Age: The Veilguard” is Bioware’s attempt to move the long-running series forward in a new direction. Certain aspects of the game from its writing and character design to its action-heavy mechanics can admittedly be polarizing. While the storytelling can be uneven at times, however, the combat is fun and the visuals look gorgeous. If you love Mass Effect and are itching to play a fantasy version of the series, then Veilguard just might be your cup of tea.
Because, above all, Veilguard is Dragon Age in its essence, a single-player game with impressive visuals that make up a unique fantasy world full of life. A game that is more reminiscent of Dragon Age II mixed with the scale and epicness of Inquisition and that brings its own legacy with a fresh, fast and frenetic combat system. In short, a combination that leaves us with a remarkable title.

Eager to redeem itself with its community, BioWare took the time to deliver what is probably one of its most successful productions in a long time and one of the best games in the saga. Between its epic and touching storytelling, its endearing characters, its captivating fights that can be modulated to the will of the eye, its sublime environments that we enjoy exploring or its answers to long-standing questions, Dragon Age The Veilguard is one of the best action-RPG games of this year. Newcomers will be welcomed with open arms by a story that sometimes flirts with the spectacular. The fans of the first hour will regret that the roleplay dimension that made the reputation of the studio is more behind. Dragon Age The Veilguard is more about evolution than revolution, but BioWare is finally back.

he story is full of dark but also epic moments that will stay with me for a long time; decisions that I had made many hours before and had already half forgotten suddenly change the course of a mission and even though I had to make one or two tough choices and not every character made it to the end, I wouldn't change anything. Well, maybe in a second playthrough...

It has heart and plenty of emotion alongside a found family cast with some of the best personal character questlines I’ve experienced in a game. It’s evident that there’s a deep respect for the DA lore and titles that came before, and I love how The Veilguard takes vital points of so many BioWare games and builds upon them.
But though it's ultimately held back its shortcomings, the other highs of Dragon Age: The Veilguard - its characters, its storytelling, and its sense of personality - make the game easy to like despite the flaws. The issues may be harder to look past for some, but others will find joy in the things it does do well.
The writing can be overwrought, written by committee, and occasionally forced, but it's also a major step forward for a team that needs the win. Dragon Age: The Veilguard brings us compelling characters, excellent combat, and a world worth saving.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard delivers an incredible experience built on fluid combat, deep lore and characters, and player choice. All of this is wrapped up in a polished package that is a must play for Dragon Age fans and RPG fans alike.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard crystallizes what made both the series and BioWare a force to be reckoned with over a decade ago. An emphasis on memorable characters and personalized combat allows this new entry to swell with magic, proving the developer still has stories to tell.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a serviceable addition to the series but falls short in nearly every metric that made it great.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a triumph for BioWare in practically every way. It brings together the best bits of all the games that have come before it, pairing an intricately woven narrative ripe with genuine choice and consequences with a fast, frenetic and endlessly satisfying combat system. The Veilguard is, without a doubt, Dragon Age at it's best.
From style to story and everything in between, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is everything I wanted from this entry in the Dragon Age universe.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the best game BioWare has made since Mass Effect 3. It is crafted much better in terms of story and gameplay than DA: Inquisition (I find this game mediorce at best), and is superior to Andromeda in every way. But the things that used to dazzle me right now are „only” good. There's more to accomplish in the genre than that.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a triumphant return to form for one of gaming's most loved developers. It's an epic and grandiose RPG adventure, interwoven with intimate, powerful stories about its cast of endearing and quirky companions. It has a truly stunning world to explore, with hidden secrets, alluring side quests and a literal treasure trove of lore to comb through. Its tight, in-depth combat systems and breadth of accessibility options deliver a highly personalised experience. But beyond the adventure itself, it's another shining testament to diversity and inclusivity, polished to near perfection in its presentation. Put simply, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is Dragon Age at its most captivating, a truly generational adventure that is as heartfelt as it is thrilling.
Dragon Age The Veilguard is the epitome of 'better than the sum of its parts'. It’s been so long since I experienced this level of joy in a long-form RPG; I have a compulsion to keep playing and finish one more quest.
Let's not beat around the bush: we didn't like the new direction Electronic Arts and Bioware have given to the Dragon Age franchise. The original idea must have been to expand the public for this third entry, but the result is a game that won't probably appeal to anyone, expecially long-time fans. Just give us a Dragon Age Origins remaster at this point, please.

I seriously enjoyed my time (and still am) in the world of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and it is easily in my top three games of 2024. BioWare have done a wonderful job at revisiting this franchise from its engaging narrative, realistic characters and gameplay that takes RPG to a whole new realm. With next-gen graphics, superb audio, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is gunning for game of the year!
