The general intention of the development was to focus on easier difficulty, even if you never played platformers. So when players expect an easy and average game, they will be positively surprised by how thoughtful the experience would be. The intensity of details in the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers allow some of the most dynamic gaming experiences ever. The players will be in for a ride for the 30 plus years of PlayStation titles and the console legacy, which were naturally blended within its gameplay.

All things considered, I’m proud to say that Astro Bot is a 3D platformer every gamer should play, not just for PlayStation fans. This lovable, adorable white and blue bot offers a mixture of fun and engaging platforming gameplay with the PS5 spin and PlayStation nostalgia to please both new and longtime fans in multiple ways. Astro Bot may not have the extensive history nor brand recognition comparable to platformers like Mario… yet.
What is undeniable is that Astro Bot is worth every second you put into it.
The highest praise I can give Astro Bot is that it genuinely feels like PlayStation has its own Mario now. The gameplay, creativity and charm are competing with Nintendo's powerhouse with wonderful level design and engaging gameplay from start to finish. Only the relatively short runtime is a potential negative, and even that feels like a minor complaint. If you're a longtime PlayStation fan looking for a rush of nostalgia, a parent looking for a good game for their kids, or you just want a darn fun platformer, Astro Bot is a must-play.
After years, Astro Bot made it to the star of the platforming genre in PlayStation universe bringing full-fledge game with tens of rich levels, funny power-ups, secret passaged and different planets. It is one of a few games you'll enjoy without stress, pressure and will admire the creativity of Team Asobi.

Big-budget triple-A titles, with eye-watering visuals and interminable development cycles aren't the only way forward. And smaller games aren't just an option, they are a necessity. With Astro Bot, Team Asobi has crafted one of the best 3D platformers since Super Mario Odyssey. It's a game that is committed to being a game, to being fun and joyous and playful. It's hard to find a more vibrant title in PlayStation's stable, and Sony must invest in similar smaller games going forward. Because right now, it seems PS5 owners are stuck playing remakes and remasters while waiting for the next God of War and the next Spider-Man. Sony is sitting on multiple beloved IPs of yore, and the PlayStation parent surely must realise that people like all kinds of games, not just triple-A open-world, action-adventures. And Astro Bot is living proof of that.
However as an arcade game, Astro Bot ticks all the right boxes and really challenges the medium but in a good way with its crazy mechanics, sturdy controls and next-gen experience, particularly with the DualSense Controller.
Astro Bot is a gem, a game crafted with heart that manages to unite tradition and innovation. Despite its "small" size, the latest title from Team Asobi delivers an extraordinary experience thanks to the power of the PS5 and the clever use of the DualSense.

Astro Bot is a wonderfully entertaining and diverse platformer that throws new ideas at you at an incredible rate, topped with stunning visuals and an injection of PlayStation nostalgia.
ASTRO Bot is a platforming masterpiece that encourages exploration of not only its own worlds and planets, but also those of Sony's long gone franchises as well. A celebration of Sony's 30 years in gaming with a joyful flare you'd expect to see from its console rival. Team ASOBI has created yet another wonderful adventure that places ASTRO front and center as Sony's mascot.
Astro Bot is a wonderful love letter to all things PlayStation, and an exceptional platformer in its own right. If you own a PS5, you need to play this game.
Astro Bot is an easy pick for one of the year's best, if not the PS5's as a whole. The first fully-spec'd adventure might not move the needle forward for 3D platformers, but it's a triumphant effort from Team Asobi that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best in the genre. It's full of joy and surprise, and presented with an astonishing level of detail and tactility and packed to the rafters with reverence for PlayStation history.
Astro Bot is not just another platformer; it's a vibrant celebration of PlayStation's storied history and a triumphant re-introduction to its newest mascot. Every world offers compelling gameplay that is elevated to the next level by the innovative use of the DualSense controller, and its heartwarming nods to the last 30 years of PlayStation ensure that the experience is charmingly nostalgic while still feeling refreshingly original. Astro Bot is whimsical, inventive and just feels downright fun to play. While Astro Bot's previous outings were impressive, this latest adventure solidifies him as a beloved character in his own right. They've truly done it. PlayStation has finally found the mascot it's always wanted.
Astro Bot captures all of the strong points of a brand new puppy. It's cute, playful, and doggedly loyal to PlayStation's history. While it still has room to grow into its legs and sharpen its teeth, most missteps are easily forgiven. I mean, just look at it!
Astro Bot is an ultra-efficient platformer, but more than that. More than just a PlayStation tribute game, it's an experience in its own right. A Madeleine de Proust that will appeal to the little gamer in all of us. Far removed from the violence of many of today's AAA games, this is an outpouring of love for video games, and for PlayStation too, of course. In this sense, DualSense is more than ever in the spotlight, and all the better for it. We'd totally forgotten about its functionality, as the poor thing is generally under-exploited. Gameplay is a clear winner here, and you'll even find yourself experimenting with the hyper-calibrated haptic feedback. All in all, Astro Bot offers a dynamic, well-paced game that continually renews itself. There are a few glitches where skills, game sequences and OST use are repeated, but that's just nitpicking. In reality, it's a blast and leaves you wanting more. Astro Bot has a message, one that reminds us of what's essential: have fun, enjoy yourself and love video games. And for that, it's a total success.

It's really hard to find any compelling reason for anyone to skip on Astro Bot. Sometimes it's easy to forget how fun video games can actually be, and Team ASOBI did a great job reminding us of that, and all the shared joy this industry can bring.

Team Asobi has teased that tools will eventually be added to Astro Bot that should appeal to speedrunners. With that tool and a bit of post-launch content updates, Astro Bot's fun could last a lot longer than it does, and that would be a welcome inclusion for a game with a short run time. Still, any frustration with the game ultimately stems from wanting more of what Astro Bot provides, which at its core is a top-tier platformer with innovation, charm, and enjoyment to spare.
Everything about Astro Bot has been painstakingly crafted to make it fun to experience, whether it's the fluid gameplay, unrivaled creativity or every interaction being a kaleidoscope of satisfying particle effects and sounds. Astro Bot is one of the best platformers in years and is a must-play title you shouldn't miss.
