Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 is another great game from CyberConnect2. It doesn't only reinforce the polish and effort that the developers have brought to the table since the first game but also uses the opportunity to dive further into the additional characters and in adding even more strategic options to the combat.

The Fuga games have continually improved, while keeping the same core mechanics. This final game is the best of the trilogy, just don’t play it until you’ve beaten the other two.

Overall, Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 is the strongest game in the franchise to date. While the plot is more over-the-top than the first game, it creates a far more compelling and interesting narrative to the sequel, while also expanding and building upon the many gameplay improvements. The combat system has never been better, and the mechanics have been polished to a sheen. It has flaws, and not all the plot points are going to work, but it's proof that CyberConnect knows how to keep players invested in the franchise.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 concludes the saga brilliantly from a narrative perspective, but the gameplay feels a bit weaker in its repetitiveness.

Still, if you do manage to pull through and enjoy the whole trilogy, or just want to skip the gameplay in favor of the story due to the Fast Mode difficulty setting, then I think you’ll find a pretty good finale to a fun trilogy of strategy RPGs.

Narrative slip-ups and gameplay additions that don't have much effect don't prevent Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 from bringing the trilogy to a satisfactory close. It's a universe I've enjoyed following since its debut in 2021 and I haven't regretted it one bit.
