Echoes of the End Reviews
Echoes of the End really struggles to provide a satisfying experience. Between the combat and the puzzle-solving, Echoes of the End is not a very satisfying game. I believe the developer realizes this, and I hope they’re able to realize their vision to great success, but, for now, I can’t recommend Echoes of the End.
Echoes of the End is a a solid fantasy tale with engaging combat and puzzles - proof there is still room for AA magic.
When everything runs as it should, Echoes of the End is visually pleasing, but the actual gameplay and animations are lacking.
If you like action-adventure, and need a quick fix, this can scratch that itch. But, a game to rival the AAA goliaths, this is not.
Echoes of the End is annoying, because it just needs a bit more time to iron out the niggles and give it that extra layer of polish. As it is it's got a lot going for it but some will lose sight of it through some issues that get in the way.
There’s a lot of great stuff in Echoes of the End, but it’s impossible to ignore what doesn’t work as well.
There is a lot I enjoyed about Echoes of the End. Great characters, incredible vista, and fun puzzles. It's a shame that the combat can become frustrating, and some technical issues prevent it from reaching its full potential.
Echoes of the End's biggest issue is that it struggles to keep up with its own ambition. For example: the visuals are pretty, but that makes the rough gameplay animations stand out even more, and the combat could also use a fair bit of work.

For $40, you'll get 15 or so hours of a lite Icelandic folklore version of the modern God of War games. It comes with caveats – finding the right difficulty and looking past annoyances with puzzles and combat – but I'd recommend giving Echoes of the End a go.
Echoes of the End makes a strong first impression with inventive puzzles and focused combat, but its uncompromising appetite for challenge and precision is painfully difficult to overcome, and undercuts the power of its protagonist in the process.
In short, if the development team had been brave enough to take a few more months to iron out the flaws, we'd likely be talking about a product of a completely different caliber.

Visually, it's remarkable, its soundtrack fits well within the game, and its approach blends action, story, and exploration well. There's room for improvement in the technical aspects and in the variety of some stages, but the final feeling is that of having experienced an adventure with personality. That's why I highlight these A-list games, which fill in the gaps that others don't.

Echoes of the End is a cinematic third-person action-adventure game, blending puzzle and sword-based combat.
Echoes of the End offers an engaging couple of days of play, thanks to its intriguing story setup and well-paced mix of combat and puzzles.
Echoes of the End has strong puzzle foundations and a good grasp on difficulty, making it the type of challenge that is just right. That said, these puzzles dominate gameplay with action getting less of the spotlight, making for a lack of balance. This is a fantastic pick if you prefer brain-teasers over fisticuffs. But if you were looking for a thrilling escapade, you may be disappointed, as the action in this adventure mostly takes a backseat.
Echoes Of The End does have a lot of good points. Visually it does not disappoint, the magic can be fun to wield, and the puzzles add a nice little change of pace. The combat is generally enjoyable enough, if a little awkward, especially targeting magic abilities with camera angles in the midst of battle. If you can put up with its little quirks and occasional glitches (I once seemed to manage to get myself stuck inside the landscape and was unable to move or even see the world properly), it does offer a nice little bit of fantasy storytelling and might be worth your while. If you are easily frustrated by games that sometimes seem to work against you, maybe give it a miss.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, Echoes of the End offers breathtaking visuals that often make you pause just to admire the scenery, but unfortunately, that's where the experience peaks. Beyond its stunning world, the game quickly unravels with stiff animations, a shallow story, and clunky, broken gameplay, serving as a reminder that great visuals alone can't carry a video game.

Echoes of the End surprises with its inventive puzzle mechanics and engaging story presentation, showing plenty of potential. Unfortunately, Myrkur Games falls short on core aspects such as character focus and combat system, preventing the game from reaching that potential. The result is, sadly, a title that doesn’t rise much above mediocrity. To overcome the hard parts yet stumble on the fundamentals is, quite literally, “crossing the ocean only to drown in a stream.”

Echoes of the End is a third-person action-adventure game with interesting puzzles and challenging combat. Although its mechanics have potential, the title fails to make good use of them, and it also suffers from technical issues and poor overall design.

Echoes of the End is a good first game for Myrkur Games. Despite the predictable story and uncharismatic characters, the studio's effort is remarkable. The game stands out for its scenery, puzzles, and good optimization on consoles
