ARC Raiders Reviews
ARC Raiders has been a real surprise. Embark takes the plunge into extraction shooters with one of the most energetic mixes of PvE and PvP I've ever played. Despite a few shortcomings in terms of usability, this game has earned its place on the list of the biggest surprises of 2025.

ARC Raiders could be a long-running game with the right support. For now, it's one of the most solid, engaging, and fun PvPvE extraction games out there.

It’s one of the best multiplayer games of the year, standing toe to toe with the giants in the genre. I’ll see you topside.
ARC Raiders delivers a strong extraction shooter experience that works just as well solo as with friends. The loot hunts are intense and the short but varied missions keep things fresh. The controls feel solid, the arsenal is diverse and the different environments offer surprises even after multiple runs. The constant tension between machines and players plus the risk of losing everything add real stakes to each expedition. Small drawbacks like limited communication options and potential repetition exist but they do not overshadow the core fun.

Arc Raiders is tighter, more deliberate, and much more rewarding — but it is not without its flaws, minor though they may be. Shooter fans are doing themselves a disservice if they do not check out Embark Studios’ latest title.
Arc Raiders is a standout third-person extraction shooter that delivers intense PvP, strong co-op potential, and a surprisingly thoughtful gameplay loop. Embark Studios blends dynamic combat with world-building that supports unpredictable player choices and high-stakes encounters. While the menus and quests falter, the overall design and audio atmosphere push the game into must-play territory for shooter fans.
Arc Raiders is simply magnificent in what it sets out to achieve. Even if you haven’t played the game, all you have to do is look at videos to witness how spontaneous this game can be. If you’re after a third-person shooter experience that has you constantly on edge with repeated runs always being different, intense and exhilarating, then this is right up your street. This is one of those games that can create and unlock core gaming memories with friends, matches that you’ll discuss and remember for years to come. Not only do you have to salute Embark Studios for creating one of the most polished and atmospheric games of 2025, but you also have to take your hat off to their pricing. Whilst the game has shifted from a promised free-to-play shooter as it was announced in 2021, what we have ended up with is potentially a game of the year contender for many. For a very reasonable cost of £30.99 for the base edition of the game, which you can purchase on Xbox Series X|S HERE, it is well worth the investment for the amount of content and gameplay on offer. If you’re a fan of shooters, then this is a must-buy.
ARC Raiders delivers a standout third-person extraction shooter, blending genre fundamentals with fresh, varied challenges that keep the action rewarding for all playstyles. Inventory management and console UI need refinement, but the core experience sets a new benchmark. With consistent post-launch support, it could become a long-term reference point for anyone seeking dynamic and engaging solo or co-op action.

Whether you extract with your pockets full of loot or get decimated by a rival player or NPC, the sting of that defeat doesn’t last long because of the amount of progression you still have netted. Just about everything you do nets you experience points toward leveling up your character.
In my opinion, ARC Raiders is the clear leader of extraction shooters, thanks to its brilliantly designed ARC enemies, well-thought-out extraction system, and excellent shooting mechanics. Moreover, the retrofuturistic world and the atmospheric soundtrack creates a combination that keeps you coming back for more even if you die in a battle and lose all of your gear. The latest game from Embark Studios is also an outstanding example of a multiplayer game and a true global phenomenon.

ARC Raiders is an extraction shooter designed for people who have always been extraction-curious but too intimidated to dive in. It keeps the core appeal of the genre, the high stakes, the gut-check decisions at the edge of extraction, the stories you tell afterward, but wraps it in accessible progression, a hopeful (if fragile) world, and a surprisingly wholesome streak of player-driven cooperation.
With solid gameplay, intense combat, and strategic risk-reward decisions, ARC Raiders delivers an engaging experience whether playing solo or in a squad. While the narrative is shallow and the item management system needs refinement, the world-building, art direction, and soundtrack greatly enhance immersion. Each match offers high tension and memorable moments, making ARC Raiders one of the standout multiplayer titles of the year.

Arc Raiders has been quite the surprise. I’m not a big fan of the extraction genre, and I was 100% sure I wouldn’t like this game as a result, but I’ve had an absolute blast so far. A truly community-driven experience that makes every run something different. Its unpredictable gameplay leads to moments that can be hilarious, wholesome or frustrating in the best of ways. If you’re on the fence about this game, give it a go. It might surprise you.
ARC Raiders offers a simple concept, but one that is refined down to the last detail. As an extraction shooter in PvPvE mode, it excels in its combination of action, strategy, chance, and luck, and especially in its incredibly entertaining gameplay loop. The story and quests aren't particularly original, but it's the amazing dynamics of the combat, the constant work with your inventory, resources, and equipment, and the currently sufficient amount of content that will convince you that "just one more round" won't be enough.

Arc Raiders, as it stands at the moment, will certainly offer many hours of entertainment to fans not only of the genre, but of online gaming in general.

ARC Raiders is an ambitious, visually distinct extraction shooter that successfully captures the genre's unpredictability. However, the game is undermined by an unengaging base/inventory management and a lack of purpose that contrasts sharply with the excellent tension of the surface expeditions.

Arc Raiders does more than any other game I’ve seen to deliver an experience to the extraction shooter genre that allows everyone to feel good. This is a release that you shouldn’t miss, and even if you’re afraid of extraction shooters, Arc Raiders is worth your eye if you’re even generally interested in shooter games.
For now, however, as long as Arc Raiders remains true to its initial vision. It’s one of the best multiplayer games ever released, with some of the greatest emergent gameplay I’ve ever seen. Arc Raiders is definitely my game of the year.
ARC Raiders has some dizzying highs, but much of your experience is based entirely on luck. Gunplay, optimization, and social interactions can only take ARC Raiders so far. With issues like poor UX, high cost of cosmetics, use of AI, and some strange design decisions, it’s hard to recommend ARC Raiders.
ARC Raiders is an exhilarating, tense, and streamlined extraction shooter with tremendous accessibility. Embark Studios have captured lightning in a bottle with this, and it’s truly remarkable how good it is in every way. This is not “just another Tarkov clone”, it’s unlike anything else you’ve played before, and that’s why it’ll be successful. ARC Raiders is not a gateway drug to other extraction shooters, it is the drug.
