LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Reviews
The best Batman game ever?
The addition of "Arkham-style" gameplay has given the LEGO titles the boost they were missing. LEGO Batma: Legacy of the Dark Knight is undoubtedly one of the best titles in this multifaceted saga, which has now been running for 30 years. It's a fresh and entertaining game that masterfully blends accessibility with variety, creating a Batman multiverse full of surprises. Once again, it's a shame that there's no online option for co-op mode, which TT Games continues to exclude from its games.

A referential and joyful deep dive into the world of Batman, the latest LEGO effort from TT Games is elite brick gaming. Legacy of the Dark Knight just wants to be an enjoyable time, and it refuses to falter from that commitment. This new LEGO Batman will be some of the best fun you have all year.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is the ideal way to celebrate so many years of life for such a unique DC superhero, taking into account all audiences, since it can be experienced by both those familiar with the franchise and young users who want to have a first approach to the adventures in Gotham City.

The Dark Knight’s legacy goes extremely deep here, and it’s certainly not a bad thing that the developers want to make sure every player gets the most out of it before leaving them to their own devices.
This grand celebration is nonetheless marred by some notable absences. While both the French and original versions remain generally very solid, the lack of iconic voices leaves a slight void.

All things considered, LEGO Batman: The Dark Knight Legacy succeeds in the challenging task of paying homage to the legendary figure of one of the most iconic characters in comic book history with a comprehensive product capable of encapsulating virtually every aspect of Gotham City's Crusader.

But all criticism quickly disappears when I slip into my blue-grey Batsuit in the Batcave, get the 1989 Batmobile out of the garage, and speed through the rain-soaked streets of Gotham, where there's something cool to discover on every corner.

I'm pretty sure everyone on the LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight dev team could beat the rest of the world at Batman trivia. Sometimes that makes for fantastic jokes and cool recreations of iconic scenes, and sometimes it results in an overabundance of references without the substance to back it up. The Arkham gameplay is a great new spin on the LEGO formula, and this brick-built Gotham may be one of the city's best interpretations yet. If you go in with the right expectations, this could be your new favourite LEGO game.
It's been eleven years since the last Batman: Arkham game and almost twelve years since LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. The Caped Crusader's...
Legacy of the Dark Knight tries to honour many legacies at once, and struggles to serve them all effectively. A familiar but fun LEGO game, a functional and simplified continuation of the Batman: Arkham series’ mechanics and an unambitious and only intermittently funny Batman story all sit alongside one another in a final build of a game that will still be enjoyed by many, but is never quite the sum of its bricks and will unlikely have much of a legacy of its own.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is the best LEGO game to date, delivering an incredible love letter to Batman through strong combat, a fun story, and a smart celebration of the character's defining eras.
As we wait for the Dark Knight's next big game, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight steps in and delivers a lovingly crafted, satisfying entry. It pulls from the best Batman entries while going beyond expectations in every aspect. This one's by the fans, for the fans.
This is a really great game for all Batman fans. It can be a bit rough around the edges technically, and the gameplay is a bit too basic at times, but it’s hard not to appreciate just how much the developers love the Dark Knight in all his incarnations.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight isn't just another iterative entry in the franchise; it's a new vision defined by varied gameplay, gorgeous upgraded graphics and clever storytelling. Whether you're gliding across Gotham's skyline, piecing together detective puzzles or laughing at a perfectly timed gag, the game delivers a rich, polished experience that honors the Dark Knight in a way only LEGO can.
Legacy of the Dark Knight's excellent combat and stealth systems, fun open world, and clear reverence for the World's Greatest Detective bring it close to plastic perfection.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight builds on strong LEGO foundations by incorporating the Arkham games and LEGO City Undercover. It’s become more sprawling and more engaging through combat, stealth and driving. But its accessibility has not been lost: anyone can dance with the devil in the pale moonlight, not just adults.
Despite not offering any real challenge, even on the highest difficulty, it's a rich and enjoyable experience that successfully satisfies a wide range of players simultaneously. Consider it a brilliantly interactive Batman experience.

The best Lego Batman game—with great humor, an atmospheric open world, and an incredible amount of fan service. At times, it's very reminiscent of Batman: Arkham—too bad the combat isn't as good.
