It's been eleven years since the last Batman: Arkham game and almost twelve years since LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. The Caped Crusader's...
As we wait for the Dark Knight's next big game, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight steps in and delivers a lovingly crafted, satisfying entry. It pulls from the best Batman entries while going beyond expectations in every aspect. This one's by the fans, for the fans.
This is a really great game for all Batman fans. It can be a bit rough around the edges technically, and the gameplay is a bit too basic at times, but it’s hard not to appreciate just how much the developers love the Dark Knight in all his incarnations.

Legacy of the Dark Knight's excellent combat and stealth systems, fun open world, and clear reverence for the World's Greatest Detective bring it close to plastic perfection.
In a way, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is easy to evaluate: if you're willing to be captivated by either LEGO or Batman, or even if you just want to enjoy the simple fun of playing together with a dear one, there are plenty of reasons to join in the romp of defending Gotham on the Bat's long life journey. On the other hand, those expecting in-depth character and gameplay development should look elsewhere.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a charming tribute to the DC icon that isn't afraid to take things with a sense of humor, inviting us on a journey through a less "dark" version of Gotham-but one that's just as memorable

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a very enjoyable open-world adventure that celebrates Batman with great care and charm, honoring iconic films while expanding the series' gameplay with new mechanics and deeper combat. Technical flaws and limited side-content hold it back slightly, but it remains an outstanding tribute for Batman fans of all ages.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a love letter to the character, making any Batman fan very happy. It changes the LEGO formula a bit by focusing on the Bat-family instead of having many playable characters, and it feels like a spiritual successor to the Batman Arkham games.
Describing a game as "a love letter" to something is a cliché, but the truth is, there's no better way to describe this work than as "a love letter to Batman's history." Fans of the character will enjoy a fun journey through the cinematic history of the Dark Knight, filled with entertaining puzzles and plenty of objects to find. However, those who haven't seen the movies and won't understand the references and might not forgive the numerous technical issues, the repetitive combat system, or the many minor flaws it has.

It’s not often I find myself being blown away by a LEGO game. In general, they’re games geared towards a much younger audience of players, and while LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight still maintains much of the playful, blocky heart and soul that makes the LEGO universe so enduringly charming, it also does something very impressive with the Batman IP, both narratively and mechanically, that makes it feel like one of those big blockbuster AAA Batman game that we would get from Rocksteady Studios. With it pulling from 85 years of Batman history, this feels like a worthwhile tribute to the Caped Crusader. It’s a reminder of why we love him so much, whether we first met him through the gritty lens of modern cinema, the animated classics of our childhood, the comics, or a pile of plastic bricks on the living room floor. Without a question, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a must-play for all Batman fans out there.
Legacy of the Dark Knight isn’t just one of the best LEGO Batman games—it’s one of the best Batman games and one of the best LEGO games, an experience that delivers on virtually every level. It’s even better when played in co-op.

Layering LEGO's playful freedom over the Arkham series' proven gameplay foundation, this is the most Batman-feeling game in years. Its chapter-based structure weaves together homages from across Batman's vast media history, while an open world built around each Bat-Family member's distinct identity both honors the Arkham legacy and elevates the LEGO series to a new high.

LEGO Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight masterfully delivers on its proposal to celebrate more than 80 years of the hero’s history, bringing a story packed with references and GREAT humor, alongside a lively Gotham City that invites exploration, marking the beginning of a new era for the franchise, despite stepping on a few LEGO bricks with a somewhat repetitive combat system and little enemy variety.
