Invincible VS delivers a brutal, fast-paced 3v3 fighting system with strong mechanics and a stylish presentation faithful to the series. However, its very short story mode, uneven character balance, and weak onboarding for newcomers hold it back. A solid foundation that feels like it still needs more time to fully evolve.

Its compact story mode is lacking a satisfying ending, and some of its mechanics don't land, but Invincible VS's hard hitting and fast paced 3v3 tag fighting is a gust of fresh air, especially for those who miss the two-way interactable combo system of Killer Instinct.

With plans for post-launch content already announced, Invincible VS is likely to only improve as its lifespan progresses, which could certainly address some of the current shortcomings. However, with an already solid foundation built upon approachability and personality, Invincible VS is easy to recommend to both seasoned fighting games fans and Invincible enthusiasts.

Invincible VS is clearly a game by the FGC for the FGC, which results in a double-edged sword. It serves as an incredibly fun and satisfying tool for competition, [...] but after playing through a mediocre “episode” of the show and reaching disappointing arcade mode endings, the casual audience is left with little to do in the game other than rematching the CPU in standard matches over and over.

Invincible VS is a brilliantly brutal extension of the comic and Amazon Prime cartoon, offering up visceral, fluid battling and a genuinely entertaining single-player mode. The AI feels incredibly smart, adjusting its strategies mid-fight and creating a fluid pace for combat. It is missing a few key actors, but everyone does such a wonderful job, it doesn't hurt that badly. If you're looking for a way to pass the time until season 5 of the show hits in 2027, Invincible VS is a bloody good time.

he fighting game scene is tougher than Thragg right now, and this Invincible VS , which clearly aims for online tournaments, needs more muscle to stand out, but there's no doubt that if you want direct, visceral action, this title will give you an... INVINCIBLE experience (read this thinking of the series' opening credits).

Invincible VS is a great start. Quarter Up brought the characters, the mechanics, and an overall presentation that just might make Mortal Kombat fans blush. I really dig how many niches and specialties are represented in this pool, and it ends up making for a satisfying experience in both offline and online play, with solid netcode and crossplay systems to keep the fun going. I wish the story cutscenes weren’t jarring compared to the rest of the game’s animation, and that things like Sudden Death and Assist Break didn’t leave me feeling grumpy after a sweaty match, but I can’t deny I had a blast assembling teams and seeing how they matched up against the rest of the game. I found it hard not to read this as an opening chapter for Quarter Up and Invincible VS, and it's a good one.

Invincible VS has the looks and source material to make for a solid fighting game, but is it worth your time as a standalone piece of entertainment?

Invincible VS is a great addition to the growing media empire for its source material. The arcade type endings for each character are hit-and-miss, but the story mode ends up being solid; if a tad short.

Over-the-top violence? Check. Iconic memes from the original series? Check. A solid battle system that cleverly borrows the best ideas around to deliver something uniquely its own? Double check. Honestly, there are very few reasons not to jump on board.

An undeniably gnarly brawler that really moves despite its 3v3 format, Invincible VS should appeal to both fighting game fans and comic book OGs. The story mode is slickly animated but almost insultingly short, and there’s not a lot to appeal to single players beyond that. But the rollback netcode seems sturdy and the combat system mixes accessibility with depth, resulting in a system that should have legs long beyond its initial novelty.

Invincible VS is bloody brilliant. Accessible yet packed with depth, Quarter Up has crafted a fighter that welcomes newcomers while offering the nuance that will excite the fighting game community. While more modes and options for solo players would certainly round out the package, this is an incredible fighter worthy of its heroic name.

Invincible VS is an easy game to pick up and fall in love with. I believe it has the chance to have some staying power within the ranks of the fighting game scene. With the fan following behind the comics and animated series, there is no reason why it cannot hold its own and stick around for a while. Throw in a lower-than-normal price point and smaller install size in comparison to other fighting games, Invincible VS is just more friendly to players overall.

Invincible VS from developer Quarter Up is an impressive fighting game that plays it safe in some areas, but exceeds expectations in others. The mix of story content that launches into 3v3 battles is seamless as it is entertaining. The game isn’t perfect by any means, but it’s more impressive than it is not.
