A great cast and some hilarious writing make Tales from the Borderlands one of Telltale's best titles yet.

The latest Telltale tale is funny, ambitious and better than the games upon which it's based.

The story is excellent, characters are intriguing, and the game looks better than I'm used to seeing from Telltale Games.

With a terrific cast of characters, a compelling storyline and some genuinely laugh out loud moments, Tales from the Borderlands easily maintains Telltale Games' upward trajectory. The few minor audio and graphical glitches are easily forgiven due to the strength of the gameplay experience and the pace rarely slows down, although the fourth episode did seem a tad meandering.

It's tough for an outsider to look at the praise Tales from the Borderlands is receiving without thinking it's a bit hyperbolic and overblown. Rest assured, Telltale's best game shows us exactly what it means for a game to be fun, as its wonderful writing seems to play on just about every emotion you have. If you thought that this studio would never top the first season of The Walking Dead, you're sorely mistaken, as the title the world thought would be mediocre highlighted the shear wealth of talent over at Telltale.

The best opening from a Telltale game to date and a promising start to a new episodic series.

In the words of Vasquez, 'cool moves' Telltale. Now, to completely knock everyone side ways, repeat this feat with Minecraft.

Telltale Games has made a name for itself by creating episodic adventure games with minimal gameplay and an emphasis on history, and Tales from the Borderlands is an example of how, with the right approach, this formula can fit even into a wacky FPS.

[SPOILERS] Tales from the Borderlands has proven itself to be the best thing that Telltale Games has ever concocted. Better than The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and even Back to the Future: The Game this collaboration with Gearbox Software wasn't just a smart business move, but a testament to what sort of greatness can come out of a powerful collaboration.

I had expected Tales from the Borderlands to be just a side story, something inconsequential in the grand scheme of the Borderlands franchise, but there are events within Tales from the Borderlands that will have substantive effects on the Borderlands universe should they bleed over into any further games set on Pandora.

The story crafted by Tales isn't just a fine Borderlands sequel, but one of the most enjoyable sci-fi adventure stories in recent memory.

From the very start, I was expecting a fun, light-hearted take on a series that already doesn't quite take itself too seriously; by the end, I didn't know what to expect from a series that kept me guessing at every possible turn, and more importantly provided one of the funniest and most enjoyable game experiences of the year. Even in theater and film, it's often said that comedy is a heck of a lot harder to pull off than drama, yet Telltale Games' Tales from the Borderlands pulls off laughs, shocks, and cheers nearly effortlessly.

Tales from the Borderlands is arguably Telltale Games' finest hour and easily one of the very best choice-driven narrative adventures available on any system. This is ten glorious hours' worth of top-notch entertainment with a world-class cast, consistently excellent writing that manages to perfectly balance comedy and drama, non-stop twisted action and a cast of kooky characters that are a joy to spend time with. This really is the best the Borderlands universe has ever been, and a game that everyone should experience at least once.

Luckily for Tales from the Borderlands, its minor annoyances aren't nearly enough to mar the incredibly rewarding narrative experience. While still humorous, the writing is much more nuanced than that of the mainline Borderlands games, offering an impressive amount of character development. The whole cast interacts in ways unmatched by the rest of the series, and achieves some of the most impactful narrative beats in the whole franchise, all while having player choices impact future events.

Tales from the Borderlands is a game that shows all the years that have passed since its first publication, yet the particular hybrid between a point and click and a looter shooter still retains an undeniable charm.

A fantastic episodic adventure with only a few shallow pitfalls to knock the experience. Comedy gaming done oh so right.

With Tales from the Borderlands, Telltale Games has struck gold. Easily its best effort since the first season of The Walking Dead, Tales marries the series cheeky humour and laugh-out laughs with some properly touching and poignant moments. This is as essential as it gets.

Naysayers of their formula won't be quieted with another game in Telltale's library that has especially little to offer for major player choices, but fans who have so far enjoyed their style of video game will absolutely enjoy this one, even if they aren't a Borderlands fan. It's the best Borderlands story told so far. More startlingly, it's the best Telltale story told so far, and should, with any luck, provoke a rise in the ripe genre of comedy video games.

Obviously, fans of Borderlands will get much more out of it, but even if you haven't played the first person shooter RPGs, you'll still have a great time seeing this world in the eyes of a couple of cons. It is well acted, has tons of style, and brings a great story to the table. I highly suggest this adventure game to both fans of Borderlands and fans of adventure games.

Tales from the Borderlands concludes with some series-defining moments and choices, solidifying it as one of Telltale's best, if not the strongest offering the studio has put forth in several years. Telltale's take on Gearbox's beloved series is the most heartfelt story told on Pandora, and is full of incredible moments of comedy and grueling choices.
