Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Reviews
Although Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy doesn't tell the story of Amicia and Hugo, it manages to offer a different perspective to the player. Not only are the graphics impressive, but also the combat, setting, and puzzles which, while becoming tiresome at times, prove to be intelligent and well-developed. This is, without a doubt, one of the best titles of the year.

Resonance is a labyrinth in every sense. Undeniably gorgeous, but far too willing to lead you in circles through one breathtaking ruin after another, deploying fun set pieces along a journey that spends a bit too long in the maze before it finds its way forward.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy leans more heavily into action in a series known for its stealth. It's the change we didn't know we needed. It offers a charming world, clever puzzles, fluid combat, and a story packed with mystery, tragedy, and even horror.

A visually stunning and emotionally intense action-adventure, held back by shallow combat, linear exploration and repetitive stealth.

More daring than Requiem. It swaps stealth for more abrupt and direct combat. It still retains the essence of the series, although it moves further away from the mundane and closer to the mythological. The Island of the Minotaur hides a multitude of secrets that will even put us in the shoes of a Greek hero. Its graphics continue to prove that not all games need to use Unreal Engine 5 to look photorealistic. Furthermore, as with its two predecessors, the art style is truly outstanding. Although it suffers from basic yet flashy combat and puzzles that aren’t particularly challenging, this prequel expands the Macula universe through Sophia’s eyes.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy takes a while to get going, but its exploration, puzzles, atmosphere, and the mystery of its island make it an enjoyable adventure.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a beautiful adventure that proudly stands shoulder to shoulder with the previous games. With clever puzzles, fantastic storytelling and a soundtrack that hits every emotional note, Sophia’s solo adventure is one I’d happily follow into the depths of the island again.
I spent a very welcome 12 hours in the world of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which does succeed as both prequel (as advertised) and sequel. The Plague Tale games consistently feel like a hodgepodge of ideas. This game provides a multitude of possibilities for where the series could go next, from more medieval Tomb Raider to re-envisioned ancient horrors. Ultimately, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a kaleidoscope: a game full of mirrors that reflect light differently based on how it is held. From the right angle, it shines beautifully; however, when Asobo Studio lets its inspirations outshine the game's uniqueness, A Plague Tale Legacy becomes yet another third-person adventure game with an unnecessary skill tree.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy comes highly recommended because it features a very interesting and well-crafted story. Furthermore, the shift toward an adventure with more action, exploration, and puzzles works quite well. Combat is probably the area with the most room for improvement, but it doesn't detract from an experience that is very polished in terms of narrative, audiovisuals, and gameplay.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is an ambitious and visually striking action-adventure that stumbles slightly under its own technical weight on Microsoft’s smaller console, yet offers a deeply rewarding experience for anyone willing to wrestle with its tougher mechanics. If you can look past the jagged performance snags and occasional navigation hiccups, the intricate combat, phenomenal atmosphere, and rich world-building make it well worth adding to your library.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is the kind of game that captivates you with its story and emotional weight from beginning to end. With stunning visuals, simple yet refined gameplay that showcases the studio's significant progress over previous titles, and a soundtrack that perfectly ties it all together, the game delivers a truly memorable experience.

With Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Asobo Studio has once again crafted a powerful and emotional story. This is thanks to the level design, the fantastic soundtrack, and the strong voice acting. As a result, the game completely draws you in, and the ending leaves a lasting impression.

All in all, it’s still a bit of entertainment that does the job.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a decent game with solid and polished gameplay but a very uninspired story makes it a bit harder to fully recommend.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a brave title that moves the series in a whole new direction, but it lands it perfectly, managing to blend history, adventure and human drama into something that feels different.
I’ve played dozens of different narrative action-adventure games both wonderful and exhausting, and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is everything excellent about them delivered with unending passion, overwhelming emotion, and just the right amount of care.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy* is a much riskier venture than it might seem at first glance...

Gorgeous visuals and an excellent soundtrack can’t disguise an action-adventure that borrows so heavily from better games without ever matching their strengths.
Sophia’s story carries on what made her character so endearing in previous A Plague Tale games, but with a great deal more swashbuckling. The combat shines the brightest even as the story ventures into the dark reality of a world swamped with Macula. While the storytelling is bolstered by incredible voice acting and strong writing, ultimately Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy owes much of its narrative to exposition, filling in gaps about the Macula over character development for the cast.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy ultimately feels less like a dramatic makeover and more like Asobo finding a second identity for its brand. It may not have the emotional devastation of Amicia and Hugo's story, but Sophia's trip has enough personal drama to warrant its place.
