The Last of Us is a horror masterpiece that proves that the aging PlayStation 3 still has the potential to produce jaw-dropping AAA games.

The visual upgrades are more modest than you might expect, but the extra definition and detail and the enhanced effects make The Last of Us even more stunning and richly cinematic, while the steady frame rate improves the gameplay. There's probably not enough of a difference to justify buying the same game twice, but if you have a PS4 and haven't played The Last of Us, then you can consider this edition a must-buy.

It's tough to recommend for PS3 players who have already played the game, as the $55 price is a bit steep for some enhanced visuals and a bit of added content. But PlayStation 4 owners who haven't yet experienced The Last of Us absolutely owe it to themselves to pick up this modern classic, and take a journey with Joel and Ellie across the heartbreakingly beautiful ruins of our world.

Players who missed this on the PS3 will find a lot to like here, but for those who have already completed it I doubt the graphical upgrade is worth another play through.

With its improved detail, better draw distance, and slick 60fps presentation, The Last of Us Remastered is a beautiful update to a beautiful game. It is, however, a rerelease of a game that isn't very old to begin with, and that bears taking into account.

Naughty Dog's masterpiece is a must have for every PS4-owner that missed the game one year ago. But if you already met Joel and Ellie on PS3, think twice.

There's not really enough distance between the PS3 version of The Last of Us and this new Remaster to make it worth double-dipping, unless you're simply that fixated on counting lines of resolution. If you missed out the first time around, though, you really shouldn't let it slip past again. While it often works better as a movie than a game, it still stands at the state of the art. And the writing is good enough to enjoy even if you hate zombie genre fiction (like I do). The Last of Us is about refinement, not innovation, and this version takes the art of refinement another step forward.

Still a stunning achievement in both storytelling and third person adventure, and although this is the definitive version the differences are still minor.

The Last of Us: Remastered is a GOTY Edition. But, if you are expecting 'next-gen' graphics, you may be disappointed. After all, you can play The Last of Us with 1080p and 60FPS. It's the most important part of Remastered Edition.

The Last Of Us Remastered isn't just an essential purchase for those who never played its original incarnation, it's also worthy for returning players to shell out the budget asking price to experience the game in a more magnanimous way.

The Last of Us Remastered is definitely worth your money on the PS4, particularly if you haven't experienced it on the PS3. Don't, however, expect that big of a difference from the PS3 edition. Sure, the better textures and the 60fps framerate offer drastic improvements, but there are still downsides, from the aliasing to the AI problems.

While The Last of Us was one of the PS3's most impressive, engrossing releases, The Last of Us: Remastered feels like the version of Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic story of survival that the developer always intended us to play. Its story and characters are just as strong as they were before, but they're now reinforced by far more amazing visuals, consistent framerate, and a nice selection of new bonus features and DLC inclusions.

The Last of Us Remastered is a better-looking, better performing version of an already incredible game. As such, those who haven't played the original version should buy immediately, and those that have probably should as well.

17 for those who have played it on PS3. Even if at first glance, the graphic gap may appear derisory on The Last Of Us Remastered, the technical power made available to the game by the PS4 allows it to fully express its potential and captivate once again players who have already traveled the adventure on PS3.

Naughty Dog gives PlayStation gamers a second, definitive chance to experience one of the greatest video game stories. The Last of Us Remastered's additional content, visual enhancements, and improved performance leave very little standing in the way of a perfect encore.

Easily one of the best releases last year, The Last of Us Remastered has a good chance of winning even more Game of the Year honors with this exceptional improvement. The visuals, sound, gameplay and extras all come together to make this a worthwhile package. Even if you've seen everything it has to offer, you should experience it again.

The Uncharted series was always the staple for Naughty Dog in that exact role. However, The Last of Us has certainly defended it’s right to be the one the best Playstation title’s of all time. With beautiful graphics, a wonderfully written story, that’s almost too good to be a video game, and music that just sets the tone for an almost death-row lead life, you really can appreciate why this title scored over 20 Game of the Year awards.
