Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy Reviews
Despite some shaky elements, Katrielle Layton does admirable work taking over the family business.
The Layton legacy continues with an endearing new lead and lots of new puzzles, but relatively few new ideas.
Layton's Mystery Journey is a mediocre game at best, with uneventful mysteries and anticlimactic plot twists. As a returning veteran, it almost doesn't feel like a Layton game at all.
The new iteration of the Level-5 adventure series does not impress when it comes to puzzles, plot and character development, but despite that Layton's Mystery Journey is a great start for a new cycle in the franchise history. If you loved the previous games of the saga, you will definitely enjoy the new adventure of Katrielle Layton, but we hope that in future Level-5 and Nintendo could join forces to create something really special based on Nintendo Switch unique features.

As a non-expert on father Layton's predecessors, I experienced in Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires conspiracy Deluxe a fun-loving detective who solves many nice puzzles in a charming adventure across London, but has to give up on suspense and surprising Solutions because of the child-friendly presentation.

The puzzles are both fun and challenging, which somewhat make up for the uncompelling story and generally weak characters.
I enjoyed my time with Layton's Mystery Journey. The puzzles and investigative work are enjoyable as usual, but that special sauce from previous Layton titles has been left out.
Just like Katrielle, this game has a reputation to live up to. And it is indeed a Layton game, just with different strengths and weaknesses.
Katrielle's adventure makes your brain work for progress on the Switch. With 40 new puzzles the game is the largest Layton game yet. The game is ported fantastically for the Switch and has never looked as great as this before. A definite must buy!

Katrielle Layton successfully entered the detective world of her father. This installment has been here for 2 years already, however, this version truly is a definitive one.

As charming, imaginative, and challenging as ever, Layton's Mystery Journey proves there's plenty of life left in the series yet. However, a staggered, slightly underwhelming narrative prevents it from establishing itself as a puzzle genre classic.
Even though a bit harder to play compared to the original, the wonderfully designed puzzles, characters and music make this game a wonderful experience. Players that enjoy brain teasers without being forced into a time constraint will enjoy Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy - Deluxe Edition, as a relaxing and sometimes infuriating title - but remember that every puzzle has an answer!
Puzzle-solving adventure is back with some improvements and more puzzle. Good choice for Nintendo Switch players.

While the story leaves a little to be desired, Layton's Mystery still makes for an enjoyable entry into the puzzling series.
There is a fair amount of charm to Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy – Deluxe Edition. Characters stand out, it doesn't take long to warm up to Katrielle and the animated scenes make the experience so much better. Toss in a wide variety of challenging, yet accessible, puzzles and you have a fun adventure that is sure to delight kids of all ages.
It may not quite reach the series' previous highs, but Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy is a more than serviceable addition, and a welcome debut on the Nintendo Switch.
Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy feels rather comforting, the video game equivalent of a warm blanket.
With so much to explore and unravel in this game, plus accessible daily puzzles, Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy feels like a game we could get lost in for a good, long time.
Layton formula is still working great, with more puzzles than ever, a new main character and the London setting. After ten years, though, the storyline is not as good as previous games, and puzzle design is not as imaginative.

Layton's Mystery Journey for Nintendo Switch is the latest foray into the Layton franchise, but is this brand new port worth investigating?
