Ancestors Legacy Reviews
Due to unfortunate design choices, I just wanted to rush through everything and couldn’t exactly enjoy my time with the game. In short, Ancestors Legacy felt too much like a chore to play.
Strategy games are among my favorite genres, and a portable RTS done well is the dream. Ancestors Legacy even comes close, and proves that it is possible for a console RTS to be playable. What holds it back are core gameplay decisions.
It is not the greatest strategy game in the world, but it can be fun at times. The campaigns are easily the best part of the game, even if the combat can be tedious and buggy.
I eventually enjoyed Ancestors Legacy but I wanted to quit many times within my first 20 hours and that's not a good sign.
Ancestors Legacy is one of the few real-time strategy options we have for consoles, and we think it is an occasion we should not miss if we are lovers of the genre

Unique RTS with great graphics, soundrack and some inovations. However suffered by poor balance and frustrating gameplay.

Ancestors: Legacy is a strategy game full of technical issues that can totally spoil the whole experience. And yet, Destructive Creations managed to to create an interesting and fun game that's not notorious for being forcibly edgy and controversial. It is simply a good, middle-of-the-road game that offers a reasonable amount of fun.

If you're looking for a beefy console RTS experience that's inspired by real events and oozing violence out of every bloody orifice, then look no further than Ancestors Legacy. It may not be the perfect experience, but it's shockingly solid, especially when you consider the design hurdles that the development team must have been facing. This is the perfect entry-point for anyone who's been curious about real time strategy, when armed with only a Dualshock.
Ancestors Legacy is a fast-paced strategy game with a lot of micro-managing.
If you really, really have to play an RTS on console then you could do a lot worse than Ancestors Legacy. Well thought out controls, appealing visuals, and a solid multiplayer make for a reliable RTS experience. You might never feel compelled to reach the conclusion of the samey single-player campaign but you will delight in just having one more go at flanking your pal's Teutonic Knights with your Hurscarl Warriors.
When it comes to real-time strategy, representation a bit on the iffy side for Switch, so any new entry in the space is always welcome...
Ancestors Legacy is a good strategy title that has a quite acceptable technical section in consoles and with a playability that reminds a lot to its big brothers but that simplifies it to make the games look more agile and fast.

Ancestors Legacy is a direct RTS focused on action and combat, leaving everything related to management and resources in the background. A breath of fresh air to the genre that wear with a story mode based on battles and historical events of the four available factions, and complements with a realistic and brutal representation of the war in the Middle Ages. The console version has adapted the control satisfactorily, but has seen its visual quality a little inexplicably diminished. If you like the strategy genre in real time, you should try it without hesitation.

Dark as hell, Ancestors Legacy is a good RTS.

Ancestors Legacy is a great new take on the RTS genre. While it has it's flaws, it's a breath of fresh air to a stagnant genre of games. It's laid back approach to real time strategy games allows more access to more players without causing too much effort to learn the game. Overall it's a great time!
Ancestors Legacy will not achieve its place in the mainstream, but the developer should be proud. They have made an insteresting strategy game with great atmosphere and good gameplay.

Ancestors Legacy is a genuinely good console strategy title, with Destructive Creations having ported the game over well with improvements to UI and controls to make it as playable as possible on a gamepad. As for the game itself, while simplistic compared to other strategy titles, it offers a great jumping-in point for those new to the genre. Even those familiar will find something enjoyable within, with a well-balanced (albeit small) roster of factions supports a strong multiplayer, even a decent, albeit repetitive campaign.
. The campaigns are solid and have a great story-arc; the graphics in-game are fantastic; the acting on the whole is great.
More often than not, Ancestors Legacy showed me a good time watching my berserkers, Teutonic knights, and Slavic tribesmen hack their way through forests, marshes, and the occasional open field. The weakness in the core infantry combat, which tilts a bit too much away from quick, tactical thinking and into correctly guessing how the enemy line will be arranged, was the main issue that kept me from really coming to love it. Historical inaccuracies aside, though, it scratched my itch for a traditional RTS in a way that will probably keep me coming back.
Although it has some technical problems and mainly flaws in artificial intelligence, Ancestors Legacy is a good RTS game. Even though the campaigns offered are not very attractive, the other game modes are very entertaining and make good use of the controls that have been adapted to the consoles in an excellent way.
