Mothergunship is a solid title that hangs its hat on weapon customization, while sacrificing some gameplay. It's definitely worth a go, even if only to show the insane weapon designs one can concoct.

Mothergunship's glorious, fast-paced action is let down in the long run by a small enemy roster and repeating room layouts.

MOTHERGUNSHIP has done well to keep the fun bullet hell action that Tower of Guns offered while feeling like a different experience, giving players a game that stands on its own merits. The humor that has been introduced to the game is better delivered than its predecessor, and the gunplay is frantic and tricky with many options allowing players to find their preferred way to play. Even though the level design and secrets are not up to par, the levels are fun to explore and battle in, with a wide range of styles resulting in fundamentally different situations throughout. The game is great to sit down for a few hours and fight alien robots or, alternatively, to pick up and play a dungeon or two to kill time. All in all, MOTHERGUNSHIP has great combat and offers an experience most games have yet to provide.

Mothergunship is a very interesting proposal that combines elements of crafteo, action and roguelike with great success. Entering the battlefield and erasing all our enemies from the map with the intention of gathering new pieces with which to customize our next weapon is terribly addictive. A demanding, fun and ideal for quick games, which no fan of action games should miss.

In conclusion, Mothergunship is more than the sum of its disparate parts, and definitely deserves your time. It's a big silly mix of destruction, synths, and sci-fi and a lot of fun to play through.

The game doesn't quite end when all of the story missions are over. Other than the endless mode (which is where the gun combos can really get crazy), there's an endgame that allows the player to keep going, leveling up and facing harder and harder ships. There are also a slew of planned updates, including more guns and two-player co-op, but what is present at launch feels like a solid foundation. There are some odd and annoying design decisions, and it can feel frustrating to rarely get to really let loose with the gun creations, but damn if I don't keep coming back to go through a few ships and see what destruction I can cause.

It's almost there in many respects which make the prospect of a sequel awfully alluring but it's executed well enough to make it a good game in its own right.

Tight action, packed with more guns than Ted Nugent's home and a singular focus on turning the tables on bullet hell enemies makes Mothergunship a slick piece of high caliber fun.

Mothergunship on PC, PS4, and Xbox One is a surprisingly tense and fast-paced shooter that blends the best of classic FPS gameplay with a hardcore roguelike.

Mothergunship is a marvelous blend of roguelite randomness and self-serve zaniness, with a short but sweet campaign to kick it all off. All this presented with some of the best production values I've seen from a small-studio game. If you like what you see, you can rest assured that Mothergunship delivers.

MOTHERGUNSHIP gives you everything you expect from a FPS Bullet hell. Which is to say that there are a lot of bullets, both to dodge and to fire. It is a frenetic and chaotic shooter with a great crafting system that makes the whole thing feel like LEGO had an angry baby with Doom.

Mothergunship is a game that takes something from almost every genre. Classic FPS, roguelike and bullet hell are the main pillars of a title that, in spite of having some important flaws, is funny as hell.

As I said above, I'm totally ok with admitting that Mothergunship might not have been made with my specific gaming tastes in mind. But when a game tries so hard to tell me how to play and, worse, punishes me so harshly when I fail, I just can't for the life of me imagine that any sort of gamer could find long-term enjoyment out of what it offers.

Mothergunship is a special kind of game. It combines the right about of bullet hell shooting, tosses in some platforming and makes you laugh at the same time. Lots of things to blow up, lots of cool gun configurations, tons of secrets to find and a game that you won’t tire of so easily.

MOTHERGUNSHIP is a great follow up to Tower of Guns. Anyone who played and liked that game will feel right at home here and will love this game. Any fan of fast-paced first person shooters should also sink their teeth into the game.

Though the core gameplay is as rock solid as Tower of Guns, MOTHERGUNSHIP's weapon crafting is a victim of lost potential. Still, we're hopeful that Terrible Posture Games can turn it around with future updates.

MOTHERGUNSHIP is another unique take on the first person shooter, and at first glance it seems to take the central strengths of Tower of Guns to a new level. The gunplay is still as solid as ever, and having overarching RPG elements makes the disparate missions feel more like a cohesive game. However, MOTHERGUNSHIP feels more like an Early Access title than a fully finished game. Some bits feel like a step backwards from Tower of Guns, while many elements seem like they need more time and refinement to really gel.

MOTHERGUNSHIP is tons of fun to play, but it's also that kind of FPS that doesn't really evolve the more you play. The ability to create weapon "cocktails" is simply awesome, but the action itself is way too repetitive to let that shine.
