Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a pretty rough ride that takes two steps back for every step it takes forward.

A COMMON FPS game with impressive graphics, that's Wolfenstein: Youngblood. It brings nothing new to the game genre, something expected from the franchise that carries the title "grandfather of 3D shooters". The game is not an open world, neither a mission-based. It's an "OPEN MISSION WORLD". You can travel around the city blocks as you wish but there is no reason to explore as you will only find the same dynamics, Nazi soldiers to kill. PC players: before buying the game make sure you have a top tier PC or patience to custom the graphics settings.

Wolfenstein Youngblood is a different game than the previous two versions of the series. The main focus is on the two-person mode, and there are no longer any good and bad characters. The story has a severe decline from previous versions and suffers from a lack of memorable characters. But Gunplay is still fascinating, and the upgraded systems and capabilities still make the game as fun as it used to be.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a mediocre spin-off. There's some charm and fun to be had, but it is not worth suffering through the tedium.

Shallow, samey and unneeded. Youngblood is a huge letdown because of how blatantly it doesn't respect your time and money.

Wolfenstein Youngblood leaves us with the taste of a game that was created in order to test the waters for a shooter with the integration of RPG elements.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood feels like a non-essential addition to the franchise, and a game that is sorely missing the humanity of BJ Blazkowicz.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood manages, at least against the competition, to create a coherent, cooperative game structure, which, however, is stumbling especially on the motivational level. The initial narrative profundity paired with the excessive, hyperbolic spikes neither manage to successfully level the following story neglect nor the missing sympathy of a Wolfenstein. The usual level of difficulty and the resulting tactical scale can at least temporarily comfort the viewer about the repetitive structures and banalities within the quest structure. Meanwhile, both the solid technical framework and the visual dedication, along with Bethesda's attractive Buddy Pass offer, manage to give Youngblood at least some of the raison d'être it desperately needs. What remains is an entertaining journey into the abstruse realms of the parodistic 80s, which thanks to a high degree of uniformity and an inconsistent narrative ultimately gambles away immense potential.

If you're looking for combat, which I imagine most fans of a dystopian Nazi-killing game would be, look the other way. Likewise, if you're looking for a great co-op experience to try out with a friend, prepare yourself for disappointment. And if you do end up buying this game, for the love of all that is holy, please turn on your own music.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood succeeded in doing something I didn’t think possible: killing all enthusiasm I had for the series. Sure, the gunplay still feels great but that doesn’t matter when the entire product is hampered by tone-deaf mechanics that are trying to fix a game that wasn’t broken.

All in all, Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a nice change of pace in the series. It will definitely wade us over until the real future of the franchise makes itself clear to us.

Wolfenstein Youngblood is a pretty good FPS, with solid gameplay, nice level design and intersting cooperative mecanics.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a fun if slightly buggy shooter, made more interesting with the addition of a friend to help you punch Nazis to the face.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is an adequate shooter, buried under a glut of unnecessary RPG elements and an obnoxious focus on cooperative play. Fans should look to the other games in the series to quench their thirst for straightforward Nazi killing.

A very polarizing game, that doesn't want you to love it despite your efforts. A lighthearted romp through some beautiful scenery coupled with some novel ideas, bogged down by a plethora of nuisances and annoyances.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood just never finds the right groove. The game's needless RPG elements, microtransactions, and sloppy non-linear structure are obvious mistakes, but it also has some surprising basic level design and pacing problems. Wolfenstein: Youngblood can still be good, visceral fun in fits and starts, but overall, the game lacks the maturity of the elder Blazkowicz' adventures. The links above are affiliate links. It’s tempting to want Wolfenstein: Youngblood to be the rousing third chapter in a terrific revival of a classic franchise, but it’s not. Instead, it’s a fun, off-kilter experiment, a good game about doing good with your friend. Because killing Nazis is good, but it’s much better with friends.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood provides a decent co-op experience for friends to indulge in. It’s like going to a place where you know the service is fine and you wouldn’t look for anything unusual.

It's Wolfenstein as you know it but with a co-op aspect and more colourful and wacky characters. Some RPG elements are not quite up to the standards of the rest of the game and its hub system for the missions disappoints.
